…in Belgio! Dare una mano a un festival dei teatri di strada
JAVVA14/07 - FESTIVAL THÉÂTRES NOMADES Dates: 14/08/14 - 29/08/14 Type of work : FEST Age: 19+ Number of vols: 8 WORK: Volunteers will help on several aspects of the festival logistics, such as meals preparation for the entire team of the festival, assembling and dismantling of tents, building and putting up the decorations, stage-managing, transport and unloading of material, installation of the “village of organisations”, waste and composting toilet management. Volunteers will work with all people working on the festival (technicians, stage managers, facilitators, organizers, cooks...). Volunteers who have sufficient knowledge of French will have the opportunity to take part in promotion activities together with artists in Brussels metro before the festival. Volunteers will also be integrated in the different teams during the festival (tickets, bar, catering, stage-managing,...) which will take place from August 21st to August 24th 2013. Physical work will be asked to volunteers so it is important to take this into account. Depending of the programme schedule, volunteers may also have the possibility to actively take part in entertainment activities of the festival.
…in Grecia! Organizzare un festival sulla democrazia CIA 01 - OROPOS Dates: 14/07/14 - 28/07/14 Type of work: FEST
Number of vols: 15 Extra Fee: 20.00 EUR WORK: Volunteers will help in setting up and running a festival dedicated to Democracy that will take place between the 24th -27th of July. Volunteers will work in three main areas: a) Prepare the setting of the festival (manual work) b) organising the information dissemination activities for the festival (leaflets, happenings, social media etc) c) organise workshops, performances and other activities before and during the 4days festival. There will be several workshops for the preparation of performances. Additional the volunteers will have the chance to realise creative activities for children, such us: music, theatre games and anything else they are interested in and able to realise. We are asking for very motivated volunteers with communicative skills that play music or juggle. For this workcamp we cooperate with a group of active citizens of the community. Given the general situation (social , political and economic) the exact plan of daily activities will be decided on the spot in open discussion between the local and the international volunteers.

Aiutare gli organizzatori di un piccolo festival di musica e creatività a Gänserndorf GL-03 - GÄNSERNDORF-SÜD_’PARTYCIPATION’ Dates: 12/07/14 - 02/08/14 Type of work: FEST Number of vols: 10 WORK: We will work for the Partycipation Festival (http://www.partycipation.at/) in three phases: preparation, carrying out and ending of the festival. The festival itself lasts one week. There will be workshops about creative and sustainable topics, open spaces and music bands on the weekend (official website: www.partycipation.at). It’s a small festival. In total there are expected to come around 300-400 people during the whole week. During the preparation phase you will prepare the festival location (construct tents and stage, decorate the area etc.) and cook together. During the carrying out phase you will host the area, keep it clean, do cooking and bar shifts and take care of children. You can also participate in the workshops and think about a creative performance which you can do in the open space. Maybe there will be the possibility to stay in tents at the festival location during the one week of the festival. In the ending phase everything has to be cleaned and deconstructed.

Age: 18 - 28 Number of vols: 10 WORK: The camp WAFEst is organized by the team of young and creative people who want to make our world better through personal development. Our camp WAFEst is: - the windserf school, - different art, dance and sport workshops, - yoga and qugong, alternative healthy food. The main concept of the camp is “Have a rest and develop yourself”. We make our project for positive, active, creative people who like travelling and active style of life, for people who respect nature, other people and themselves. And who becomes stronger, calmer, wiser and more harmonious on this way. As we have more and more people who come to participate in our events we need help of volunteers to organize our activities and support camp implementation. Occuparsi della logistica di un piccolo rock festival a Jalasjarvi ALLI 22 - AUKUSTI FESTIVAL (ALLI22) Dates: 10/08/14 - 23/08/14 Type of work: FEST Number of vols: 8 WORK: Aukusti Festival is a small local rock festival that gathers about 30004000 people to a small municipality of Jalasjarvi in August. This year the festival is being held for its 14th time on 15th-16th of August. International volunteers will take part in organising this event. Our goal is to build the festival, mostly simple but sometimes hard work such as building fences and tents. The first week will mostly consist of building and setting up, and the week after the festival we’ll clean everything up and wrap up. Be prepared for physical work in all weather conditions.
…in Germania! Aiutare l’organizzazione di un festival di musica all’aperto a Stoccarda IBG 27 - STUTTGART U&D Dates: 04/08/14 - 12/08/14 Type of work: FEST Number of vols: 12 WORK: In the summer months, Germany is host to a variety of music festivals and events. One of those festivals – called
“Umsonst&Draussen” (free of charge & outdoors) – will take place at the campus of the University of Stuttgart outside the city centre, running for three days, from August 8-10 (www.ud-stuttgart.de). The association which is running the whole thing has been organising this festival for 35 years now! Last year´s festival was the first one with support from an international Workcamp. Since it was such a great success, we are glad to have again a Workcamp at this festival in IBG´s home town in 2014. The international group will work together with many other volunteers from the association. The main tasks will be setting up of the stage, stalls and tents on the site of the festival, as well as the disassembly at the end. While the festival is running, the volunteers will assist in different areas: bar, stage, organisation, catering etc. Volunteers should be flexible enough to work long and unusual hours – and enjoy music! Speaking or understanding basic German will be a plus! The group might be asked to give a short presentation of their Workcamp on stage!

They will also work in the school forests, cutting bushes and creating recreation programs for local youth to experience the forest. Part of the World Tanabata Action. Lavorare con le comunità locali e prendere parte al festival delle luci RC-34/14 - COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS Dates: 20/10/14 - 02/11/14 Type of work: FEST / CULT Number of vols: 10 WORK: This project is basically meant to have grass roots experience of local issues and culture. Months of October and November are a festival time in India and goes on for almost a month. Since two important festivals fall during the period, volunteers will have opportunity to participate in these festivals as well. They will also work with village people on farms, and related constructive work. Diwali Festival - festival of lights (23rd October). This festival is celebrated with a great fervor just like Christmas and goes on for 5 days. Diwali is followed by other local events like Budi Diwali, Bhaiya Dooj etc. Diwali in North India is celebrated, as it is believed that it was on Diwali that Lord Rama along with Sita and Lakshmana returned to Ayodhya after killing the Demon king Ravana in Lanka.

Organizzare un festival cinematografico itinerante a San Cristobal de las Casas NAT14-24 - ITINERANT MOVIE DEBATE Dates: 16/08/14 - 30/08/14 Type of work Festival- Cultural Number of vols: 12 WORK: Volunteers will be in charge of organizing movie and documentary projections in different forums for their discussion. The topics to be discussed are open and inclusive. We invite the participants to make their own proposals. Each show will be documented and
justified by the cinematographic material used, location, topic, and focused discussion. A mediator will be necessary for conducting and making the process more dynamic. The material to be projected should have appropriate content for the assisting audience, with high audio and video quality with subtitles (when needed) which facilitate the comprehension of locals and international assistants. Screening tests should be conducted at the locations to ensure a good quality projection. The locations will be proposed by both NatatĂŠ and the participating volunteers, making them part of the experience of organizing a cultural event, including promotion and dissemination in the local media. Also, the volunteers can organize additional activities which complete the cinematographic experience, such as documentary filming, audiovisual memories, photographic expositions, theatrical representations, and other dynamics.

The National Association Cultures et Traditions is the organizer of the festival and attracts every year a large number of local volunteers before (for the preparation of the project) and during the 10 days of the festival. They will welcome you and be your guide. This workcamp is a great opportunity for you to meet new people and new cultures.
