Graduation project focuses on creating an architectural language between physical environment and the spirit of space. Area is located on Pagos Hill which was an ancient Greek and Roman settlement.Than fallowed by Arab,Byzantine and Turk invasions throughout the history.It is stuck between cross urbanization,archeological assests,historic environment and contemporary extension of city of İzmir.Programe is highly shaped by the Directorate of Historic Environment and Cultural Properties and the Metropolitan Municipality of İzmir.Archeology Museum has nearly 10.000 m2 of closed space.It includes PreHistoric artefacts,Hellenistic and Roman Sculptures and ByzantineOttoman pieces.For Further information about the project please visit ‘https://issuu.com/yasarcankandur/docs/booklet_upload_2’

Restoration Project with,Guo Yixin Zhu Rohan Irmak Gayaf
Historic building located in Lastra a Signa,Firenze,Italia and dates back to 15th century.Project is commisioned by the Municipality of Lastra a Signa.Basic needs are Rehabilitation and Refurbishment of the structure.Therefore group project had started by sismic and decay analysis.First step was giving the authenticity back to building. Unnecessary contemporary additions were removed.Second step was giving a new function.Multimedia Library particularly dedicated on stones of Lastra a Signa region.In respect to the building minimum intervention made.For technical requirements new flooring system placed on ground floor by securing existing tiles. Quality of accessibility increased and entrence of the structure has changed.

Museum of Memory is a contemporary cultural center where the community can gather their collective life memory;an urban center with collective functions as:archives, library and museum.Idealized as memory archive for the city now and future.City of Aleppo has been measured and findings created system of measures of the new building.5.95 meters become base for the design.Modular system follows cubic volumes and square divisions.

This research focused on sequential progression of myriad phenomenas with their accompenyings,trying to understand the hyerarchy and sanctity in the zone with the help of instruments of design. Architectural design competition held in major Villa Adrianea in Tivoli.Comission expected to see one fountain design and contemporary bath in/around archeological site.No need to point, excavations or wet constructions were prohibited on site.Villa has unique design which highly relies on alignments, rotations and proportions.Therefore,our idea followed not only metaphorical gestures but also it should have strong bound with archeological assets in terms of physical space.Idea for the fountain,was to create a reflection made by vaporated water on grandiose serpentine marble around Tempio di Venere.For the bath,we simply reflected vertically the section of arched space of historic building.Than, we will have negative volumes for bath.

VILLA JOVIS CAPRI

Workshop held in Villa Jovis in Capri island.Ancient Roman villa has the most dramatic location by 300 meters height from sea level. Accesibility in these conditions are quite hard for visitors.Project imagines new access to Villa from sea level by an elevator.Major structure will offer unique experience from beginning.Enterence located on marine next to steep rocks will be reached by ferries and boats.Than blade like structure rises next to villa.Aim is to create an exaggeration of authentic idea of Villa Jovis in it’s lost visual existence.
