Brooklyn History Museum

The Brooklyn Historic Museum has a great collection of historical photographs that despicts the histoty of Brooklyn from its early days to present. Its design was inspired by “Deconstructivism. The facade is designed in a hierarchical manner starting from thin aluminun and glass panels at the base and expanding on each floor. these panels help identify the spaces based on the level of privacy. For instance, the lower level consists of offices, classrooms and bathrooms, having more privacy. On the other hand the first exhibition level represents the dark moments while the top exhibition level represents brightest.

Green Market

Green Market is one of the commercial spaces of a disaster reliefe program, in which a group of students designed a master plan as a response for Hurricane Sandy. A master plan in which its temporary residents would feel like in home, surrounded by other families in the same situation and safe environment. Hope Community would house 360 people in houses made out of shipping containers, it has a total of 227 units of containers made out of recycled materials. The families would be provided with whatever they need for a living: a school, library, farmacy, hospital, community center and a market that I decided to call Green Market. Green Market offers a big variety of fresh and organic products thinking on its community well-bein.

Red Hook Boutique Hotel
17
Red Hood is a abandoned neighborhood in decadence. It went from being the major port maritime of NY, where people would emigrate, to being in a state of decay. Red Hook is a boutique hotel that would attract people to the area and enlight the view. Red Hook Boutique Hotel, houses a lot of activities and a wide range of programs like a spa, where people can relax, a restaurant with a panoramic view of New York City, the Statue of Liberty and Governor Island. It design was inspired by the impression that I had of the site: Creepy, So I wanted to give a dinamic turn to its facade and call the drag people to its inside.

Brooklyn Flandra Pavilion

Brooklyn Flandra Pavilion is a park right next to the Brooklyn Bridge in Washington and Prospect Street that is currently used as parking lot. A place in decay, dark at night and disolated. The Flandra Pavilion would be built in this grim place to lighten the mood andd create a space where people could go and enjoy themselves. My main goal is to attract people that transit the Brooklyn Bridge so they would be intrigued by this piece of art. I aim for an iconic, beautiful structure that would wrap the visitors and protect them. The observatory is built so they could appreaciate the views that have being offered, such as, the Brooklyn Bridge, The Water Front and the Manhattan’s skyline.

CNC Milling

For this project I parametrictly fabricated a surface in foam, taking a regular picture and molded into a 3D model in Rhino. Later the tools were set, taking three different pass: Rough, Finished, and the Profile, and then taken to the CNC machine.

Sketches

This is a little piece of me. “Eyes are the window to the soul.” I have always liked to sketch, draw and paint, however, what i find the most intriging is how a person can transmit emotions just by using their eyes, but the one that I find the hardest to draw would be happiness. “Happiness” is hard to recognized and yet sometimes easy to misread.
