Welcome to the May 2014 Special 1st Birthday Edition! Your Child in Whittlesea is now 1-year-old! Thank you to all our readers and advertisers who have supported us and been a part of the journey this past year. This Special Birthday Edition features our Cover Child Competition Winner, Noah, on our front cover. We also have all winners and finalists featured on our centre page spread. What a good-looking bunch of littlies! Congratulations to all of you... As our way of saying ‘thank you’ to our local community, we have featured many of our local businesses this month. This edition epitomises the twofold aims of this magazine - to form a community of local families, our regular readers, while supporting local businesses, particularly our home-based enterprises. By offering local advertising we not only provide information to local families about products and services available in the community, but also ensure that this magazine remains FREE to readers like yourselves. Finally, I would like to dedicate this Special Edition of Your Child in Whittlesea to the memory of Cr Nicola Davis, Whittlesea North Ward councillor, a loving wife and mother, a dear friend and leader in our community, who lost her battle with cancer at the prime of her life. Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband Paul and young daughters Sienna & Tabatha at this time. Thank you Nicola for your support of our magazine over the past year. You will be greatly missed!
