YOUTH EMPLOYMENT SERVICES MISSION As a not-for-profit organization, YES (Youth Employment Services) enriches the community by providing English-language support services to help Quebecers find employment and start and grow businesses.

YES is a one-stop, English-language job search, entrepreneurship and artist service provider in Quebec, providing support to over 4,700 Quebecers annually. YES started in 1995 as a vehicle to stem the flow of young people from Quebec and in the past nineteen years has helped more than 40,000 Quebecers through its various programs. The number of clients served annually has increased from 120 in 1996-1997, to over 4,700 in 2013-2014, while client visits are over 14,000 per year. YES is heralded for its professionalism, long-standing record of measurable success and the exceptional service it provides the community almost entirely free of charge.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT As we prepare to mark and celebrate our 20th anniversary in 2015, it is very clear that YES has come a long way. We began as a grassroots, volunteer organization created to stanch the flow of young people down highway 401 and out of Quebec, as political instability and economic recession reduced the opportunities for young people in our province. Today, we serve some 4,700 clients who make more than 14,000 visits to our facilities annually. The Internet and enabling telecommunications technologies allow us to reach many more throughout the province where they meet with our coaches and counsellors, attend seminars and workshops, and participate in conferences—virtually. The three pillars of our programming are job search services, entrepreneurial support services and a unique program for artists that allows them to turn their artistic pursuits into money-making ventures. In 2014, in addition to the ongoing services we provided every year, we are proud of several new landmark initiatives in particular. We released a report entitled “Gender-Based Analysis: Quebec Technology Sector” as part of a three-year plan to close the gender gap in the Quebec technology industry. We drafted and tabled a Report entitled the “Building Youth Resiliency and Community Vitality within Montreal’s English Language Population”. We hosted the Creative Connections event to provide meaningful networking opportunities for Quebec’s artistic community and NetWORK Now, an event that matched job-ready women in technology with employers from the high tech industry. I invite you to discover for yourself what YES has done for men and women job seekers, entrepreneurs and artists in 2014, underlined by the fact that we need to do more and we must ensure the funding of our governments, our foundations, our businesses and individual donors to allow us to continue to serve our community and expand our services as the needs of our clients evolve. MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Year over year we see an increase in the demand for our services, and 2013-2014 was no exception. The current economic downturn has resulted in increased unemployment from company closures, cut-backs, and layoffs, and we are seeing more youth struggling to transition from school to work. We are also witnessing the consequences that come with underemployment and unemployment such as stress, depression, and mental health challenges. Alongside the bleak statistics however, we have the pleasure of working with vibrant and dynamic clientele who keep us optimistic. For example, the 2,109 entrepreneurs we served this year provided us with continued inspiration and motivation. We know that every business that we helped to start and grow created an opportunity for employment for others in our community. We know that each of the 24 dynamic young people we successfully placed through our paid internship program will continue to thrive in their companies. We served 2,400 job seekers this year and 70% were able to gain employment or return to school following the program. We know that every one of them will contribute their skills to the economy and provide more opportunities for others. We know that our impact on each of the more than 4,700 people we served this year will have a positive ripple effect, contributing to the economic health of our community. But our growth is more than just numbers, we are proud of the way our services have grown to meet the changing needs of our clients. Our responsiveness is a cornerstone of our organization and is reflected in our decisions and our success this year. For example, as a result of the continued economic downturn over the past few years, we have been seeing more and more people face situational mental health issues as a result of joblessness. We have responded by piloting a peer-to-peer focus group program, with great results. Our Women in Technology project also exemplifies our responsive and unique approach. We founded the program based on the knowledge gained from our corporate partners and clients. We noted that while the tech industry in Montreal is a major economic driver and source of employment, we were not seeing women advance in these industries. At the same time, we were seeing talented women with the skills needed to excel, struggling to find work. YES responded, and our Women in Technology initiative has been a tremendous success. Alongside our strong core programming, these innovative new programs helped us help our clients. We could not have done any of this without the strong support of our funders, our volunteers, and our partners in the business, academic, media, and non-profit sectors and, of course, our wonderful and hardworking staff. We are grateful, this year as always, for the amazing support we receive and I sincerely thank everyone who contributes to the â&#x20AC;&#x153;YES Communityâ&#x20AC;?. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE YEAR 16th Annual Entrepreneurship Conference: Today’s Insights for Tomorrow’s Business The 16th Annual YES Entrepreneurship Conference, “Today’s Insights for Tomorrow’s Business”, was held on Saturday April 13th, at the Society for Arts & Technology (SAT). The event offered the 188 entrepreneurs in attendance an opportunity to build their professional networks and gain firsthand insight from some of the city’s most successful business owners including Mitch Joel, President of Twist Image, and Stewart Schaefer, President of DormezVous Sleep Centers, among others. The day also included 4 interactive breakout sessions, a speed networking event, and 5 interactive roundtable discussions on topics pertinent to today’s entrepreneurs (such as Women in Technology and Managing Risk and Fear). For the first time, entrepreneurs from across Quebec were able to attend the conference via live streaming as part of our Regional Development Initiative. The new online format of the conference enabled entrepreneurs in all regions of Quebec to fully participate in the event by watching presentations and interacting with speakers via live chat. The winners of this year’s YES Entrepreneurship Contest, Ali and Reza Khadjavi, founders of Nettoyeurs Express, were honoured with a cash award of $1,000 to assist with the expansion of their business.

13th Annual Business Skills for Creative Souls Artists’ Conference Over 140 local artists attended this conference to learn essential business skills. Participants had the opportunity to build their networks and business acumen by attending presentations and panel discussions on a wide variety of topics relevant to careers in the arts, including marketing and network building. The conference took place at Marché Bonsecours on Tuesday, June 3rd. The day was hosted by CBC radio’s Sonali Karnick and featured a keynote from Montreal based startup Moment Factory; an interactive panel on raising visibility; and inspiring presentations from successful Quebec artists, including Grammy Award winner Jennifer Gasoi, and Juno Award winner David Usher. The YES Artistic Project Grant, celebrating local talent, was awarded to Montreal-based Singer Songwriter Kyra Shaugnessy, to produce her first professional music video.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE YEAR YES Art Expo The YES Art Expo provided a rare opportunity for emerging English-speaking Quebec artists to gain experience as exhibitors and promote their work through participation in a juried exhibition. More than 60 up-and-coming Quebec artists were selected to display their work at the Marché Bonsecours in the Old-Port District of Montreal on June 2nd and 3rd. Participating in a juried public exhibition is an important step in an artist’s career, and for many participants, this was their first show of this kind. Over 1,500 people attended the 2-day event and were able to view and purchase from hundreds of pieces of art, ranging from paintings to sculptures. As a result, over 70% of participating artists made sales from the event. The Art Expo was free to attend and also featured live musical and dance performances from local artists.

Tune in To YES7 Our 7th Annual Tune in To YES Benefit Concert and Silent Auction was held at the Theatre L’Olympia on October 24th. We were joined by over 300 members of our community who showed their dedication to YES by helping us to raise $83,000 to support our many programs and services. The evening was emceed by special guest Mose Persico of CTV. The YES community showed its support and commitment to our mission by donating directly to the cause, to our silent auction, and through generous sponsorship of the event. A special thank you to all those who supported the event making it the success it was!

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE YEAR Gender Based Analysis: Women in Technology On October 30th, we launched the results of our “Gender Based Analysis” study on women in the technology industry. This one year study investigated women’s involvement in the Montreal technology sector. The report gathered secondary research from experts in the field and primary data collected through surveys, focus groups and interviews. The results of this research indicated that women are less likely to enter the field of technology than men, and that women who do chose this career path are less likely to remain in the field long-term. The gender based analysis is the first stage in a three year research plan aimed at identifying the challenges faced by women in technology fields and proposing solutions to overcome these barriers. Over 100 people attended the launch event, including a variety of technology industry representatives and women from the technology sector. Senator Seidman was on hand for the launch and to announce funding from Status of Women Canada.

11th Annual Quebec Employment Service Providers Conference: Building Competencies through Training This full day annual conference focused on networking, information exchange, and capacity building for employment and career counsellors who provide English-language services in Quebec. The 11th annual conference, Building Competencies through Training, was attended by representatives from 73 organizations. This event brought together employment service providers to share their challenges and strategies for success while gaining valuable tools to better serve the English-speaking community of Quebec. The conference was held on November 25th at the Holiday Inn Mid-town Montreal and featured a variety of presentations on pertinent and timely themes, such as Self-Promotion in Today’s Job Market, the Recognition of Acquired Competencies Program, and Building the Counsellor-Client Relationship. Peter Hadekel, of the Montreal Gazette, provided an informative keynote speech on the long-term outlook for employment and economic growth in Quebec.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE YEAR YES Releases Report on Mental Health Issues Faced by Job Seekers In April, YES released the “Building Youth Resiliency and Community Vitality within Montreal’s English Language Population” report. The report funded by the CHSSN (Community Health and Social Services Network), was commissioned by YES in response to the growing number of clients displaying situational mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression, as a result of joblessness. The report details the difficulties faced by English-language minority youth trying to enter the job market, and the negative effect these challenges have on the mental health and outlook of youth. This research was conducted to shed light on the relationship between insecure employment situations and poor mental health, and the impact of both on our community. To date, the results of this report have helped to bring YES into a partnership with other service organizations to expand our current focus group support programs over the next three years through a grant from Health Canada. The report was officially launched, and well received, at the 11th Annual Employment Service Providers conference held in November.

Creative Connections: Providing Meaningful Networking Opportunities for Quebec’s Artistic Community On Wednesday, January 29th, YES hosted the Creative Connections event at Centre Mont-Royal. This unique event provided selected Quebec artists with an opportunity to create meaningful networking connections with local companies and businesses in creative industries. Over 30 pre-selected YES Artist Program clients and 14 participating companies and professional buyers participated in the event. In short round-table sessions, companies in attendance met and interacted directly with some of Quebec’s most creative, locally-based artists. Participant’s established new professional relationships and artists gained fruitful leads for sales of their work, while participating companies got a chance to evaluate potential business opportunities. Companies in attendance included ALDO, Twist Image, PLANK, Beavertails, HTC and BAM Strategy, among others.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE YEAR Women in Technology: NetWORK Now Event On Thursday, March 27th, YES hosted the NetWORK Now Event which brought 21 YES Women in Technology clients together with industry leaders in their field. These handpicked, job-ready candidates met with employers from the tech industry for an evening of networking and on-the-spot job interviews. The event took place at the Quebec regional offices of Google which provided the perfect backdrop for our clients to meet and connect with such high profile companies as Ubisoft, ALDO, SAP, Lightspeed, BAM Strategy and Forensic Technology, among others. The event was designed to create opportunities for women with technology backgrounds and skills to connect with potential employers, increase their networking and interview skills, and build their professional networks. Simultaneously, it allowed companies to connect directly with skilled women in their field.

“Pay it Forward” Video Series YES launched a series of six short informative motivational videos profiling successful Englishspeaking professionals in Quebec from a range of backgrounds and professions. The goal of this project is to inspire and motivate English-speaking youth while providing practical insight and tools for building a successful career or business in Quebec. The inspiring messages reveal the personal experiences and insights of notable personalities who have staked out successful careers and businesses in Quebec including astrophysicist Victoria Kaspi; artists such as Grammy Award winner (and former YES client) Jennifer Gasoi and internationally renowned jazz musician Lorraine Klaasen; and entrepreneurs, ‘Just for Laugh’s’ founder Andy Nulman, Twist Image founder Mitch Joel, and BeaverTails Pastry/Moozoo Juices Gelateria CEO & partner Pino Di Ioia. The project was supported by a grant from Canadian Heritage. These videos are housed on the YES website, as well as on YES’ other social media platforms such as Linkedin, Facebook, and Twitter. Since the videos were launched online, they have been viewed and shared over 1,600 times across our network.

YES Direct Mail Fundraising Campaign Once a year we reach out to our network of supporters through a direct mail campaign. This campaign allows us to connect with our community, and share with them our work from the previous year and our goals for the year to come. The campaign ran from December to March and our supporters once again honoured us with their show of commitment by giving YES. JOB SEARCH PROGRAM The YES Job Search Program is designed for youth aged 16-35 who are looking to jump-start their careers, find employment or return to school. Offering over 200 workshops annually, professional employment and career counsellors facilitate and guide participants in strategic job search activities and provide individual counselling. In addition to scheduled appointments, YES also offers fifteen-minute drop-in sessions with a Job Search Counsellor. YES offers one-on-one counselling, an intensive French course for job seekers, translation services for résumés and cover letters, free access to our computer lab with Internet, fax machine, photocopier, scanner and courtesy telephone. YES also has an extensive job search library with all of the essential resource materials for everyone’s employment needs. In the past year: • Over 9,596 visits were made to the centre by job search clients. • YES career counsellors received 3,782 visits and saw 2,451 clients for one-on-one sessions throughout the year. • YES held over 200 day and evening job skills workshops with 2,504 attendees. Clients learned interview skills, cold-calling, résumé and cover letter writing techniques and more. • The French for Job Seekers Program had 106 enrolments. • Over 571 positions were made available through YES’ job postings.

ELEANOR SALINAS, YES Job Search Client Eleanor Salinas came to YES as a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce from the John Molson School of Business. She had initially heard about YES from one of her marketing professors and after she graduated she turned to YES to help her make the transition from school to work. With a major in Marketing in tow, Eleanor knew that she wanted a career that extended beyond sales. She began to network extensively through YES’ Women in Technology events, namely the Tech Talk Program Launch and a career night devoted to women in Social Media & IT. After attending several workshops, networking events, and coaching sessions, she was able to land a job in her field. “I managed to find a great new role by focusing on identifying exactly what I wanted and needed from the role by networking, freshening up my cv & cover letter and getting advice wherever I could,” Eleanor says. “Now that I have found the job, I’m continuing to grow with YES. They’re working on finding me a mentor to ensure that I can continue to develop career-wise. I really appreciate all the invaluable help that YES offers and I’m happy to have the chance to continue working with them!”

ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM YES’ Entrepreneurship Program offers workshops and seminars that help entrepreneurs refine their ideas, start or grow their business and locate the resources needed to succeed. Specialty coaching services are also available including branding and sales coaching as well as legal and accounting clinics. Entrepreneurship clients have free access to a computer lab with Internet, a fax machine, photocopier, scanner, telephone, and resource library filled with the latest magazines and books. The program has continued to grow and evolve, adding interactive video services and a Consultations for Small Business Program. In the past year: • Entrepreneurship clients visited the YES centre 6,403 times. • The legal intern held 102 free legal information sessions. • YES clients received 3,115 business coaching sessions including specialty branding, sales and accounting services. • There were 3,653 client visits to our day and evening workshops including Jump Start Your Business, Meet the Experts and a monthly focus group for entrepreneurs. • The 16th Annual YES Entrepreneurship Conference: Today’s Insights for Tomorrow’s Business, was attended by 188 entrepreneurs.

ERIK VIRTANEN, Founder Calibre Audio, YES Entrepreneurship Client Erik Virtanen moved to Montreal from Vancouver Island and became a full-time screenwriter by day and musician by night. His love of film and music led him into the world of audio postproduction where he managed the sound and music for ads, video games, films, and TV series for broadcast on National Geographic, FOX, ABC, Food Network, Discovery, HGTV, MusiquePlus, and more. In September 2013, Erik and his business partner, Jeremy Reid, opened Calibre Audio, calling upon talented people they had worked with to offer complete audio post-production and music services to production companies and filmmakers. Most recently, Calibre Audio took part in the YES Creative Connections event that successfully connected Erik with talented peers in entertainment as well as top production companies in the city.

ARTISTS’ PROGRAM YES’ Business Skills for Creative Souls Artists’ Program is uniquely tailored to the specific needs of artists and artist-entrepreneurs. Artist clients have access to a range of tools and services to help them develop their business skills, including one-on-one meetings with YES’ Artists’ Coach, workshops, an annual conference and an art expo. Again this year, YES awarded $1,000 through the Artist Project Grant. The money goes towards the realization, promotion, and/or presentation of an artistic project or initiative. This year’s winner was singer songwriter Kyra Shaughnessy. In the past year: • YES’ Artists’ Coach held 511 one-on-one coaching sessions. • Our Annual Business Skills for Creative Souls Conference was attended by 140 local artists. • YES held 67 day and evening workshops for 1,122 attendees. • YES Artists’ Program had 553 active clients with 1,324 visits to the Centre.

KYRA SHAUGHNESSY, Singer Songwriter YES Artist Program Client & Artistic Project Grant Contest winner At the young age of 25, Kyra Shaughnessy had already been performing her original poetry and music for almost a decade. With lyrics inspired by nature and social justice issues, her music has a jazzy folk/gospel edge that keeps listeners coming back for more. After several years of touring with her first self-titled album, she came to YES in 2013 and became an Artist Program Client. She met with coach Monika Majewski to discuss how to move her career forward. Following this she released her second full-length album, Waiting for the Light. Kyra is a promising talent. She was honoured for her work and recently won first place after applying for the YES Artistic Project grant. With the money, she produced a professional quality music video for her song ‘Loving Like Breathing’ from her latest album. The video currently has over 1,500 views on YouTube.

WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM YES is entering its third year of delivering programs for Women in Technology (WIT). This initiative was started with the support of Status of Women Canada, and the aim of this project is to increase the number of women working and succeeding in Quebec’s technology sector. The program aims to help prepare women to build careers, and start businesses in tech. The WIT program seeks to encourage, inspire, and empower more women to participate in the tech field by providing networking, mentoring, partnering, and professional development. In-house and online services include one-on-one sessions with dedicated coaches; thematic workshops by industry professionals; mentorship services; networking opportunities; and consultations with career counsellors, business coaches, accounting professionals, and legal interns. In the past year: • YES hosted 24 WIT workshops this year, with 387 participants. • YES coaches saw 151 new WIT clients this year and provided 667 coaching sessions since the project began two years ago. •

176 women have taken advantage of our career counselling service and have made 624 visits to the centre to take part in the service.

• Volunteer participation in the WIT project has been considerable; 24 women with relevant professional experience delivered workshops and clinics for the project this year covering topics as varied as software development, online marketing, and video game design.

BARBARA MARSHALL and CLAUDETTE DWYER, Co-Founders of Dwyer Marshall Marketing, YES Women in Technology Clients Barbara Marshall and Claudette Dwyer reached out to YES in 2013, after forming a B2B marketing consultancy together. They attended some of the Women in Technology workshops, signed up for business coaching and worked with coach Lamiaa Zaid on building their agency, Dwyer Marshall Marketing. Barbara moved to Montreal five years ago while working in marketing for an international software company. It was there that she met Claudette, a Montreal native with a background in engineering. Two years ago Claudette decided to reinvent herself as a web designer, which is when she first came across YES. Combining their marketing and technical expertise, the pair formed Dwyer Marshall Marketing which provides global integrated B2B marketing services to Montreal-based media, entertainment & technology companies. It’s an innovative start-up which combines the pair’s marketing and technical skills to meet the needs of a niche market. Now in it’s second year, it’s apparent that it’s a winning combination.

REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE YES is committed to the economic resiliency of the English-speaking community across the regions, and we partner with local organizations to provide quality services to regional entrepreneurs. This year, YES was fortunate to have a one-year project that provided regional support to job-seekers through our partnerships with regional organizations. ENTREPRENEURSHIP Our regional entrepreneurship programming is conducted through partnerships with regional organizations to provide comprehensive and appropriate services to the regions. We are currently providing on site business coaching in three regions; Gaspésie-Iles-de-la-madeleine, the National Capital Region, and the Eastern Townships through CASA (Committee for Anglophone Social Action), VEQ (Voice of Englishspeaking Québec) and Townshippers’ Association. We work with over 150 partner organizations across the province to promote online services and support local businesses. Regional entrepreneurs are able to access YES services online, including coaching, legal clinics, workshops, networking events and the annual Entrepreneurship Conference. Together with the online and on-site entrepreneurship support services, YES and its community partners collectively impact the vitality of communities across Quebec by assisting aspiring and existing entrepreneurs to grow or start their business. EMPLOYMENT Our regional job search programming provides access to the full complement of job search services to people across Quebec through onsite and online service delivery. We work with numerous regional partners, such as the Voice of English-speaking Quebec, 4 Korners Family Resource Center, the Committee for Anglophone Social Action, the Megantic English-speaking Community Development Corporation, to deliver direct job search services to regional clients as well as provide employment service delivery training to local service providers. We also work with other partners in the Quebec Community Groups Network and with the Community Learning Centers to promote regional job search services. Our regional job search services were made available through a one-year grant from Canadian Heritage. In the past year: • YES provided regional clients with access to speciality coaching, legal and accounting clinics, custom workshops and its annual entrepreneurship conference to clients online. • Regional clients have received 488 business coaching sessions as well as participated 286 times in our day and evening workshops. • YES conducted 28 outreach visits across the province to provide on-site business coaching and workshops. • A total of 97 regional businesses are currently receiving support from YES in the form of coaching and workshops, and 26 new businesses have been created through the regional initiative. •

210 regional job seekers accessed our programs 491 times. 15

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM The YES internship program helps individuals gain valuable work experience in their field of study while at the same time helping growing businesses find the qualified, career minded individuals required to succeed in today’s competitive landscape. With the support of our government partner, Service Canada, YES offered its internship program again this year with an over 90% retention rate, where 10 interns were placed with employer hosts.

MENTORSHIP PROGRAM Our “Pay It Forward” Mentorship Program aims to facilitate the transfer of skills and wisdom from an experienced professional (a mentor) to a less-experienced individual (a mentee). The YES Mentorship Program assists the transition from school to work or self-employment through the transferring of knowledge from mentor to mentee. This year, YES successfully matched 19 mentees with mentors.

LA MISSION DES SERVICES D’EMPLOI POUR LES JEUNES En qualité d’organisme à but non lucratif, YES (Services d’emploi pour les jeunes) contribue à l’enrichissement de la communauté en offrant des services de soutien en anglais pour aider les Québécois à trouver un emploi ou démarrer/développer leur entreprise.

YES est un fournisseur de services centralisés de recherche d’emploi, entrepreneuriat et soutien aux artistes du Québec et offre du soutien en anglais à plus de 4 700 Québécois annuellement. YES a été fondée en 1995 pour aider à endiguer l’exode des jeunes hors du Québec. Au cours des dix-neuf dernières années, elle a aidé plus de 40 000 Québécois grâce à ses divers programmes. Le nombre de clients servis chaque année est passé de 120 en 1996-1997, à plus de 4 700 en 2013-2014, alors que les visites de clients se chiffrent à plus de 14 000 par an. YES est reconnue pour son professionnalisme, la longévité de son succès quantifiable et le service exceptionnel qu’elle offre à la communauté, et ce presque toujours gratuitement.

MESSAGE DU PRÉSIDENT Tandis que nous nous préparons à célébrer notre 20e anniversaire, il est évident que YES a parcouru un long chemin. Au départ, nous étions un organisme populaire dirigé par des bénévoles et nous souhaitions endiguer l’exode des jeunes qui empruntaient la 401 pour quitter le Québec, car l’instabilité politique et la récession réduisaient les possibilités d’emploi pour les jeunes dans notre province. Aujourd’hui, nous desservons quelque 4 700 clients qui effectuent annuellement plus de 14 000 visites à nos bureaux. Internet et les technologies de télécommunications nous permettent de joindre virtuellement plus de gens dans toute la province et ainsi leur donner l’occasion de rencontrer nos guides et conseillers et participer à nos séminaires, ateliers et congrès. Les trois piliers de notre programmation sont les services de recherche d’emploi, les services de soutien en entrepreneuriat et un programme unique qui aide les artistes à transformer leurs activités artistiques en une activité lucrative. En 2014, en plus des services réguliers offerts tous les ans, nous sommes particulièrement fiers de plusieurs nouvelles initiatives. Nous avons procédé au lancement d’un rapport intitulé « Gender-Based Analysis: Quebec Technology Sector » dans le cadre d’un plan triennal pour aider à combler l’écart entre les sexes qui prévaut dans l’industrie québécoise de la technologie. Nous avons rédigé et présenté un rapport intitulé « Building Youth Resiliency and Community Vitality within Montreal’s English Language Population. » Nous avons également organisé l’événement Creative Connections pour offrir des activités de réseautage significatives à la communauté artistique du Québec, de même que NetWORK Now, un événement qui permet de jumeler les femmes prêtes à travailler en technologie à des employeurs œuvrant en hautes technologies. Je vous invite à découvrir ce que YES a fait pour les chercheurs d’emploi, entrepreneurs et artistes en 2014, tout en soulignant que nous devons faire plus et nous assurer que le financement de nos gouvernements, fondations, entreprises et donateurs individuels nous permettent de continuer à desservir notre communauté et à développer nos services à mesure que se développent les besoins de nos clients. MESSAGE DE LA DIRECTRICE GÉNÉRALE Année après année, nous constatons une augmentation de la demande pour nos services, et l’année 2013-2014 n’a pas fait exception. L’actuel ralentissement économique a entrainé une hausse du chômage suite à la fermeture d’entreprises, aux suppressions d’emploi et aux mises à pieds et nous voyons de plus en plus de jeunes avoir du mal à faire la transition entre l’école et le travail. Nous sommes également témoins des conséquences du sous-emploi et du chômage qui entrainent stress, dépression et maladie mentale. Malgré ses sombres statistiques, nous avons le plaisir de travailler avec une clientèle vibrante et dynamique qui nous permet de demeurer optimistes. Par exemple, les 2 109 entrepreneurs que nous avons aidés cette année se sont révélés être une source continuelle d’inspiration et de motivation. Et nous savons pertinemment que chaque entreprise que nous aidons à démarrer et à développer créé également des emplois pour d’autres personnes dans la communauté. Nous savons que chacun des 24 jeunes auxquels nous avons trouvé un stage grâce à notre programme de stage payé continuera à performer dans leurs entreprises. Nous avons servi 2 400 chercheurs d’emploi cette année et 70 % ont trouvé un emploi ou sont retournés à l’école par la suite. Nous savons que chacun d’entre eux mettra ses compétences au service de l’économie et créera d’autres occasions pour les autres. Nous savons que notre impact sur les quelque 4 700 personnes servies cette année aura un effet d’entraînement positif et qu’il contribuera à la santé économique de notre communauté. Mais notre croissance se résume à plus que ces chiffres, nous sommes fiers de la façon dont nos services se sont développés pour répondre aux besoins changeants de nos clients. Notre réceptivité est la pierre angulaire de notre organisation et elle se reflète dans nos décisions et le succès de cette année. Par exemple, suite au ralentissement économique généralisé des dernières années, nous avons vu de plus en plus de personnes confrontées à des problèmes de santé mentale en raison du chômage. Nous avons répondu à cette situation en pilotant un programme de groupes de discussion et avons obtenu d’excellents résultats. Notre projet Women in Technology illustre également bien notre approche attentive et unique. Nous avons créé le programme en nous basant sur les connaissances acquises par nos partenaires et clients en entreprise. Nous avons aussi constaté que bien que l’industrie technologique soit un moteur économique et une source importante d’emploi à Montréal, on remarque un manque d’avancement des femmes dans cette industrie. Parallèlement, nous observons des femmes talentueuses et qualifiées, peiner à trouver un emploi. YES a réagi à cette situation en lançant l’initiative Women in Technology qui connait un franc succès. En plus du noyau fort de notre programmation régulière, ces nouveaux programmes novateurs nous ont aidés à aider nos clients. Nous n’aurions pu accomplir tout ceci sans le soutien important de nos donateurs, bénévoles et partenaires des secteurs commerciaux, éducatifs, médiatiques et communautaires et bien sûr, notre formidable et valeureux personnel. FAITS SAILLANTS DE L’ANNÉE 16e congrès annuel d’entrepreneuriat : Today’s Insights for Tomorrow’s Business Le 16e congrès annuel d’entrepreneuriat de YES, « Today’s Insights for Tomorrow’s Business », s’est tenu le samedi 13 avril à la Société des arts technologiques (SAT). L’événement a permis aux 188 entrepreneurs présents de développer leurs réseaux professionnels et de recueillir des informations de première main de certains des propriétaires d’entreprise les plus prospères de la ville, dont Mitch Joel, président de Twist Image, et Stewart Schaefer, président de Dormez-Vous, spécialistes du matelas. L’événement proposait également 4 séances de groupe, une activité de réseautage rapide et 5 discussions en table ronde sur des sujets qui intéressent les entrepreneurs d’aujourd’hui (tels que les femmes et la technologie et la gestion du risque et des craintes). Et pour la toute première fois, des entrepreneurs de partout au Québec ont pu participer au congrès grâce à la diffusion en direct dans le cadre de notre initiative de développement régional. Le nouveau format en ligne du congrès a permis aux entrepreneurs de partout au Québec de participer pleinement à l’événement en regardant les présentations et interagissant avec les conférenciers à l’aide du clavardage en direct. Les gagnants du concours annuel d’entrepreneuriat de YES sont Ali et Reza Khadjavi, fondateurs de Nettoyeurs Express, qui ont reçu un prix en argent de 1 000 $ pour les aider à développer leur entreprise.

13e congrès annuel pour artistes Business Skills for Creative Souls Artists’ Conference Plus de 140 artistes locaux ont assisté au congrès pour acquérir des compétences commerciales essentielles. Les participants ont eu l’occasion de développer leurs réseaux et leur sens des affaires en prenant part à des présentations et tables rondes sur de nombreux sujets liés à une carrière dans les arts, incluant le marketing et le développement de réseaux. Le congrès s’est déroulé au Marché Bonsecours le mardi 3 juin. L’événement a été animé par Sonali Karnick de CBC radio et s’est ouvert sur une allocution de Moment Factory, une entreprise émergente de Montréal, en plus de proposer un panel interactif sur comment accroître la visibilité, de même que des présentations inspirantes livrées par des artistes populaires québécois, notamment la lauréate d’un prix Grammy Jennifer Gasoi et le lauréat d’un prix Juno, David Usher. La subvention pour projet d’artiste de YES, soulignant le talent local, a été remise à l’auteure-compositrice-interprète montréalaise Kyra Shaugnessy pour la production de son premier vidéo professionnel.

FAITS SAILLANTS DE L’ANNÉE Art Expo de YES L’Art Expo de YES a procuré une rare occasion aux artistes anglophones émergents du Québec d’acquérir une expérience comme exposants et de promouvoir leurs œuvres en participant à une exposition-concours. Plus de 60 artistes québécois de la relève ont été sélectionnés pour présenter leurs œuvres au Marché Bonsecours du Vieux-Port de Montréal, les 2 et 3 juin. La participation à une exposition-concours est une étape importante de la carrière d’un artiste, et pour plusieurs, il s’agissait d’une première expérience du genre. Plus de 1 500 personnes ont assisté à cet événement de 2 jours et ont été en mesure d’admirer et d’acheter des centaines d’œuvres d’art allant des peintures aux sculptures. Ainsi, plus de 70 % des artistes participants ont réalisé des ventes pendant l’événement. L’entrée à l’Art Expo était gratuite et l’événement mettait également en vedette des prestations de musique et de danse d’artistes locaux.

Tune in To YES7 La 7e édition de notre concert-bénéfice et encan silencieux annuel Tune in To YES s’est tenue au Théâtre L’Olympia le 24 octobre. Plus de 300 membres de notre communauté nous ont rejoints pour appuyer YES et nous aider à recueillir 83 000 $ pour nos nombreux programmes et services. La soirée a été animée par notre invité spécial, Mose Persico, de CTV. La communauté YES a démontré encore uns fois son appui et son engagement envers notre mission en contribuant directement à notre cause, en participant à l’encan silencieux et en commanditant généreusement l’événement. Un merci tout spécial à tous ceux qui ont appuyé l’événement et qui en ont fait le succès qu’on connait!

FAITS SAILLANTS DE L’ANNÉE Gender Based Analysis: Women in Technology Le 30 octobre dernier, nous avons divulgué les résultats de notre analyse Gender Based Analysis: Women in Technology. Cette étude, qui s’est échelonnée sur un an, s’est penchée sur la présence des femmes dans l’industrie technologique de Montréal. Le rapport rassemble des recherches secondaires d’experts du domaine, de même que des données primaires recueillies à l’aide de sondages, groupe de discussion et entrevues. Les résultats de cette recherche ont indiqué que les femmes ont moins de chances de percer dans le domaine de la technologie que les hommes, et que les femmes qui choisissent ce cheminement de carrière ont moins de chance de demeurer dans ce domaine à long terme. Cette analyse représente la première étape d’un plan de recherche triennal visant à identifier les défis auxquels sont confrontées les femmes en technologie et propose des solutions pour surmonter ces obstacles. Plus de 100 personnes ont assisté au lancement, dont plusieurs représentants de l’industrie de la technologie et des femmes œuvrant dans le secteur des technologies. La sénatrice Judith Seidman était sur place pour le lancement et pour annoncer le financement de Condition féminine Canada.

11e congrès annuel des fournisseurs de services d’emploi au Québec : Building Competencies through Training Ce congrès annuel d’une journée se concentre sur le réseautage, l’échange de renseignements et le perfectionnement des conseillers en emploi et carrière qui offrent des services en anglais au Québec. Le 11e congrès annuel, Building Competencies through Training, a accueilli les représentants de 73 organisations. Cet événement a permis de rassembler les fournisseurs de services d’emploi qui ont pu échanger sur leurs défis et les stratégies de réussite tout se dotant d’outils précieux pour mieux servir la communauté anglophone du Québec. Le congrès s’est tenu le 25 novembre dernier à l’hôtel Holiday Inn Midtown de Montréal et comprenait plusieurs présentations sur des thèmes pertinents et d’actualité tels que l’autopromotion dans le marché de l’emploi actuel, le programme de reconnaissance des acquis et le développement de la relation client-conseiller. Peter Hadekel, du journal The Montréal Gazette, a prononcé une allocution principale très intéressante sur les perspectives à long terme de l’emploi et de la croissance économique au Québec.

FAITS SAILLANTS DE L’ANNÉE YES présente un rapport sur les problèmes de santé mentale auxquels sont confrontés les chercheurs d’emploi En avril, YES a procédé au lancement du rapport « Building Youth Resiliency and Community Vitality within Montreal’s English Language Population ». Le rapport financé par le RCSSS (Réseau communautaire de services de santé et services sociaux) a été commandé par YES en réponse au nombre grandissant de clients présentant des problèmes de santé mentale tels que l’anxiété et la dépression, suite à leur problème de chômage. Le rapport aborde les difficultés auxquelles sont confrontées les jeunes anglophones qui essaient d’intégrer le marché du travail, de même que leurs répercussions négatives sur la santé mentale et l’avenir des jeunes. Cette recherche a été effectuée pour faire la lumière sur la relation entre les situations de travail précaire et les problèmes de santé mentale, et leur impact sur notre communauté. À ce jour, les résultats de ce rapport ont permis à YES de conclure un partenariat avec d’autres organisations de services pour développer nos programmes de soutien de groupe actuels au cours des trois prochaines années grâce à une subvention de Santé Canada. Le rapport a été officiellement lancé et très bien reçu lors du 11e congrès annuel des fournisseurs de services d’emploi qui s’est tenu en novembre.

Creative Connections: roviding Meaningful Networking Opportunities for Quebec’s Artistic Community YES a présenté l’événement Creatives Connexions au Centre Mont-Royal le mercredi 29 janvier dernier. Cet événement unique a permis à certains artistes québécois sélectionnés de créer des liens étroits avec des entreprises et commerces œuvrant dans l’industrie de la création. Plus de 30 clients du programme pour artistes de YES et 14 entreprises participantes et acheteurs professionnels ont participé à l’événement. Dans le cadre de courtes séances en table ronde, les entreprises présentes ont rencontré et interagit directement avec certains des artistes locaux les plus créatifs du Québec. Les participants ont pu établir de nouvelles relations professionnelles et les artistes ont pu obtenir des pistes fructueuses pour la vente de leurs œuvres, alors que les entreprises participantes ont eu la chance d’évaluer les éventuelles occasions d’affaires. Parmi les entreprises présentes, notons ALDO, Twist Image, PLANK, Beavertails, HTC et BAM Strategy.

FAITS SAILLANTS DE L’ANNÉE Women in Technology: Événement NetWORK Now Le jeudi 27 mars, YES a tenu l’événement NetWORK Now qui a permis à 21 clientes du programme Women in Technology de YES de rencontrer des chefs de file de leur industrie. Ces candidates triées sur le volet et prêtes à l’emploi ont rencontré des employeurs de l’industrie des technologies dans le cadre d’une soirée de réseautage et d’entrevues. L’événement s’est tenu dans les bureaux régionaux du Québec de Google qui étaient parfaits pour permettre à nos clientes de rencontrer des entreprises très en vue dont notamment Ubisoft, ALDO, SAP, Lightspeed, BAM Strategy et Forensic Technology. L’événement a été créé pour permettre aux femmes ayant une formation et des compétences en technologie de rencontrer des employeurs potentiels, développer leurs compétences en réseautage et entrevue, et accroître leurs réseaux professionnels. Parallèlement, il a permis aux entreprises de rencontrer des femmes qualifiées dans leur domaine.

Collection de vidéo « Pay it Forward » YES a lancé une collection de six courts vidéos informatifs et motivants qui dressent le portrait de professionnels anglophones prospères du Québec qui œuvrent dans des milieux et professions différentes. L’objectif de ce projet est d’inspirer et de motiver les jeunes anglophones tout en leur offrant des conseils et outils pratiques pour développer une belle carrière ou une entreprise florissante au Québec. Les messages inspirants révèlent les expériences et perceptions personnelles de personnalités notoires qui ont une carrière ou une entreprise prospère au Québec, dont l’astrophysicienne Victoria Kaspi; les artistes comme la lauréate d’un prix Grammy (et ancienne cliente de YES) Jennifer Gasoi et la musicienne de jazz de renommée internationale Lorraine Klaasen; de même que les entrepreneurs, le fondateur de « Just for Laugh’s » Andy Nulman, le fondateur de Twist Image, Mitch Joel, et le CEO et partenaire de BeaverTails Pastry/ Moozoo Juices Gelateria, Pino Di Ioia. Le projet a été rendu possible grâce à une subvention de Patrimoine canadien. Les vidéos sont hébergés sur le site Web de YES, ainsi que sur les autres plateformes de médias sociaux de YES tels que Linkedin, Facebook et Twitter. Depuis leur mise en ligne, les vidéos ont été visionnées et partagées plus de 1 600 fois sur notre réseau.

Campagne de financement par publipostage de YES Nous contactons notre réseau de partisans une fois par année par le biais d’une campagne de publipostage. Cette campagne nous permet d’établir un contact direct avec notre communauté, et de lui faire part de nos réalisations de l’année précédente, ainsi que de nos objectifs pour l’année à venir. La campagne s’est déroulée de décembre à mars et, encore une fois, nos nous ont honorés par leur engagement et par leur générosité envers YES. Ensemble, Atpartisans YES, saving livelihoods nous avons recueilli 38 000 $ ce qui nous a permis de dépasser l’objectif de la campagne fixé à means saving lives! 35 000 $. Merci à toutes les personnes qui ont participé à cette campagne.

PROGRAMME DE RECHERCHE D’EMPLOI Le programme de recherche d’emploi de YES s’adresse aux jeunes de 16 à 35 ans qui souhaitent démarrer leur carrière, trouver un emploi ou retourner à l’école. Offrant plus de 200 ateliers annuellement, les conseillers professionnels en emploi et carrière aident et guident les participants dans leurs activités stratégiques de recherche d’emploi et offrent des consultations individuelles. En plus des rendez-vous fixes, YES offre également des rencontres sans rendez-vous de quinze minutes avec un conseiller en recherche d’emploi. YES offre des consultations individuelles, un cours intensif de français pour chercheurs d’emploi, des services de traduction pour lettres de présentation et curriculum vitæ, un accès gratuit à notre laboratoire informatique équipé d’un accès à Internet, d’un télécopieur, d’un photocopieur, d’un numériseur et d’un téléphone. YES dispose également d’une importante bibliothèque de recherche d’emploi équipée de toutes les ressources essentielles pour les besoins de tous. Dans la dernière année : • Plus de 9 596 visites ont été effectuées au centre par les clients en recherche d’emploi. • Les conseillers en carrière de YES ont reçu 3 782 visites et rencontré 2 451 clients lors de séances individuelles. • YES a tenu plus de 200 ateliers de compétences d’emploi de jour et de soir et a accueilli plus de 2 504 participants. Les clients ont pu parfaire leurs connaissances en compétences d’entrevue, prospection téléphonique, rédaction de lettres de présentation et curriculum vitæ et autres. • Le programme de français pour chercheurs d’emploi a reçu 106 inscriptions. • Plus de 571 postes ont été affichés sur le babillard d’emploi de YES.

ELEANOR SALINAS, cliente en recherche d’emploi YES Eleanor Salinas a visité YES alors qu’elle venait tout juste d’obtenir son baccalauréat en commerce de l’école de commerce John Molson. Elle avait d’abord entendu parler de YES par l’entremise d’un de ses professeurs de marketing et après avoir obtenu son diplôme, elle s’est tournée vers YES pour l’aider à effectuer la transition entre l’école et le travail. Avec sa majeure en marketing, Eleanor savait qu’elle voulait entreprendre une carrière qui n’impliquait pas seulement la vente. Elle a commencé à s’investir à fond dans ses réseaux en participant aux événements Women in Technology de YES, plus précisément au programme Tech Talk et à la soirée des métiers pour les femmes œuvrant en médias sociaux et TI. Après avoir participé à plusieurs ateliers, activités de réseautage et séances de coaching, elle a obtenu un poste dans son domaine. « J’ai réussi à me trouver un emploi formidable en identifiant d’abord ce que je voulais et ce dont j’avais besoin pour ce poste en faisant du réseautage, en mettant à jour ma lettre de présentation et mon CV et en obtenant des conseils lorsque je le pouvais, » a déclaré Eleanor. « Maintenant que j’ai trouvé mon emploi, je poursuis mon développement avec YES. Nous travaillons à me trouver un mentor pour me permettre de continuer à développer ma carrière de façon intelligente. J’apprécie véritablement l’aide inestimable que m’a donnée YES et je suis très heureuse de poursuivre notre collaboration! »

PROGRAMME D’ENTREPRENEURIAT Le programme d’entrepreneuriat de YES propose des ateliers et séminaires qui aident les entrepreneurs à définir leurs idées, démarrer ou développer leur entreprise et trouver les ressources nécessaires pour réussir. Des services de coaching spécialisé sont également offerts notamment en établissement de la marque et vente, sans oublier les cliniques d’aide juridique et comptabilité. Les clients en entrepreneuriat disposent d’un accès gratuit à un laboratoire informatique équipé d’un accès à Internet, d’un télécopieur, d’un photocopieur, d’un numériseur et d’un téléphone, de même que d’une bibliothèque de ressources équipée des magazines et livres les plus récents. Le programme s’est également développé avec l’ajout d’un service de vidéo interactifs et du programme de consultations pour petites entreprises. Dans la dernière année : • Les clients en entrepreneuriat ont visité le centre YES à 6

403 occasions.

• Le stagiaire juridique a tenu 102 séances d’aide juridique gratuites. • Les clients de YES ont reçu 3 115 séances de coaching commercial, notamment en établissement de marque spécialisée, ventes et comptabilité. •

3 653 visites à nos ateliers de jour et de soir, incluant Jump Start Your Business, Meet the Experts et le groupe de discussion mensuelle pour entrepreneurs.

• Le 16e congrès annuel d’entrepreneuriat de YES : Today’s Insights for Tomorrow’s Business a accueilli 188 entrepreneurs.

ERIK VIRTANEN, fondateur de Calibre Audio, client en entrepreneuriat de YES Erik Virtanen a déménagé de l’île de Vancouver à Montréal et est devenu scénariste à temps plein le jour et musicien le soir. Son amour pour les films et la musique l’a mené en postproduction audio où il s’occupe de la trame sonore et musicale de publicités, jeux vidéos, films et séries télévisées diffusées sur National Geographic, FOX, ABC, Food Network, Discovery, HGTV, MusiquePlus et autres. En septembre 2013, Erik et son partenaire, Jeremy Reid, ont ouvert Calibre Audio, et se sont adjoint les services de collaborateurs talentueux avec lesquelles ils ont déjà travaillé pour offrir des services complets de postproduction audio et musique aux entreprises de productions et réalisateurs. Calibre Audio a récemment participé à l’événement Creative Connections de YES qui a permis à Erik de créer des liens avec de talentueux collègues du domaine du divertissement, de même qu’avec de grandes entreprises de production locales.

PROGRAMME POUR ARTISTES Le programme pour artistes Business Skills for Creative Souls de YES s’adresse spécifiquement aux artistes et artistes-entrepreneurs. Les clients artistes ont accès à un éventail de services et outils pour les aider à développer leurs compétences commerciales : rencontres individuelles avec des coachs-artistes de YES, ateliers, congrès annuel et exposition artistique. YES a encore une fois cette année remis 1 000 $ par le biais de son prix pour projet artistique. L’argent est destiné à la réalisation, la promotion ou la présentation d’un projet ou d’une initiative artistique. La gagnante de cette année est l’auteure-compositrice-interprète, Kyra Shaughnessy. Dans la dernière année : • Les coachs pour artistes de YES ont tenu 511 séances de coaching individuelles. • Notre congrès Business Skills for Creative Souls a accueilli 140 artistes locaux. • YES a tenu 67 ateliers de jour et de soir pour 1

122 participants.

• Le programme pour artistes de YES compte 553 clients actifs qui ont effectué 1 324 visites au centre.

KYRA SHAUGHNESSY, auteure-compositrice-interprète Cliente du programme pour artistes de YES et gagnante du prix pour projet artistique À 25 ans, Kyra Shaughnessy présente déjà sa poésie et sa musique originale depuis près de 10 ans. Ses paroles inspirées de la nature et de la justice sociale et sa musique mêlant jazz, folk et gospel savent capter l’attention de ses admirateurs. Après voir passé plusieurs années en tournée avec son premier album éponyme, elle a franchi les portes de YES en 2013 et est devenue une cliente du programme pour artistes. Elle a rencontré la coach Monika Majewski pour discuter d’une façon de faire avancer sa carrière. Elle a par la suite lancé son deuxième album, Waiting for the Light. Kyra a un talent prometteur. Elle a été récompensée pour son travail et a récemment remporté le prix pour projet artistique de YES. Avec cet argent, elle a produit un vidéoclip professionnel pour sa chanson « Loving Like Breathing » tirée de son plus récent album. À l’heure actuelle, le vidéo a été visionné plus de 1 500 fois sur YouTube.

PROGRAMME WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY YES entreprend la troisième année des programmes Women in Technology (WIT). Cette initiative a été mise sur pied en collaboration avec Condition féminine Canada et vise à accroître le nombre de femmes travaillant et réussissant dans le secteur des technologies au Québec. Le programme vise à aider à préparer les femmes à démarrer une carrière ou une entreprise dans le domaine des technologies. Le programme WIT souhaite encourager, inspirer et responsabiliser plus de femmes à apporter leur contribution au secteur des technologies en leur offrant réseautage, mentorat, partenariats et développement professionnel. Nos services internes et en ligne comprennent notamment des séances individuelles avec des coaches dévoués; des ateliers thématiques donnés par des professionnels de l’industrie; des services de mentorat; des activités de réseautage; et des consultations avec des conseillers en carrière, coaches en affaires, professionnels de la comptabilité et stagiaires juridiques. Dans la dernière année : • YES a organisé 24 ateliers WIT et a accueilli 387 participantes. • Les coachs de YES ont rencontré 151 nouvelles clientes WIT et ont offert 667 séances de coaching depuis le début du projet il y a deux ans. •

176 femmes ont profité des services de conseils en carrière et ont effectué 624 visites au centre pour utiliser ce service.

• La participation bénévole au projet WIT a été considérable; 24 femmes possédant une expérience professionnelle pertinente ont participé au projet en présentant des ateliers et des cliniques. Elles ont abordé des sujets variés tels que le développement de logiciel, le marketing en ligne et la conception de jeux vidéo.

BARBARA MARSHALL et CLAUDETTE DWYER, Cofondatrices de Dwyer Marshall Marketing, clientes de Women in Technology de YES Barbara Marshall et Claudette Dwyer ont pris contact avec YES en 2013, après avoir créé ensemble leur agence de marketing interentreprises. Elles ont participé à quelques ateliers de Women in Technology, se sont inscrites au coaching d’affaires et ont travaillé au développement de leur agence, Dwyer Marshall Marketing, avec la coach Lamiaa Zaid. Barbara a déménagé à Montréal il y a cinq ans alors qu’elle travaillait en marketing pour une société internationale de logiciels. C’est à cette occasion qu’elle a rencontré Claudette, une Montréalaise d’origine ayant une expérience en ingénierie. Il y a deux ans, Claudette a décidé de se réorienter en conception Web, et c’est à ce moment qu’elle a visité YES pour la première fois. En alliant leurs compétences techniques et de marketing, le duo a créé Dwyer Marshall Marketing qui offre des services intégrés de marketing interentreprises aux entreprises montréalaises œuvrant dans les domaines des médias, du divertissement et de la technologie. Il s’agit d’une entreprise en démarrage novatrice qui combine les compétences des deux femmes pour répondre aux besoins d’un marché spécialisé. Après deux ans d’existence, il est évident qu’il s’agit d’une combinaison gagnante.

INITIATIVE DE DÉVELOPPEMENT RÉGIONAL YES appuie la résilience économique de la communauté anglophone en régions, et nous travaillons avec des organisations locales pour offrir des services de qualité aux entrepreneurs régionaux. Cette année, YES a eu la chance de compter sur un projet d’un an qui offre du soutien régional aux chercheurs d’emploi grâce à nos partenariats avec des organismes régionaux. ENTREPRENEURIAT Notre programmation régionale d’entrepreneuriat repose sur des partenariats avec des organismes régionaux pour offrir des services complets et adéquats en régions. Nous offrons actuellement du coaching d’affaires dans trois régions : Gaspésie-Iles-de-la-Madeleine, Capitale nationale et Cantons de l’Est par l’entremise de CASA (Committee for Anglophone Social Action), VEQ (Voice of English-speaking Québec) et l’association Townshippers’. Nous travaillons avec plus de 150 organismes partenaires de la province pour faire la promotion des services en ligne et appuyer les entreprises locales. Les entrepreneurs régionaux ont ainsi accès aux services en ligne de YES, notamment au coaching, cliniques d’aide juridique, ateliers, événements de réseautage et congrès annuel d’entrepreneuriat. Conjointement aux services de soutien en entrepreneuriat en ligne et sur place, YES et ses partenaires communautaires ont un impact collectif sur la vitalité des communautés du Québec en aidant les aspirants-entrepreneurs et propriétaires d’entreprise à démarrer ou développer leur entreprise. EMPLOI Notre programme régional de recherche d’emploi donne accès à tous les Québécois à tous nos services d’appoint en recherche d’emploi grâce à une livraison de service sur place et en ligne. Nous travaillons avec plusieurs partenaires régionaux, tels que Voice of English-speaking Quebec, 4 Korners Family Resource Center, Committee for Anglophone Social Action et Megantic English-speaking Community Development Corporation, pour offrir des services de recherche d’emploi aux clients régionaux, de même que des formations en offre de services d’emploi aux fournisseurs de services locaux. Nous travaillons également avec plusieurs autres partenaires du Quebec Community Groups Network et avec les centres de formation communautaires pour faire la promotion des services de recherche d’emploi régionaux. Nos services de recherche d’emploi régionaux ont été rendus possibles grâce à une subvention d’un an de Patrimoine canadien. Dans la dernière année : • YES a offerts aux clients régionaux un accès en ligne à du coaching spécialisé, cliniques d’aide juridique et de comptabilité, ateliers personnalisés et congrès annuel d’entrepreneuriat. • Les clients régionaux ont reçu 488 séances de coaching d’affaires et ont participé 286 fois à nos ateliers de jour et de soir. • YES a effectué 28 visites de sensibilisation dans la province pour offrir coaching et ateliers sur place. • Un total de 97 entreprises régionales reçoit actuellement du soutien de la part de YES sous forme de coaching et d’ateliers, et 26 nouvelles entreprises ont été créées grâce à l’initiative régionale. •

PROGRAMME DE STAGE Le programme de stage de YES aide les stagiaires à obtenir une précieuse expérience de travail dans leur domaine d’étude tout en aidant les entreprises en pleine croissance à trouver les personnes qualifiées pour les aider à réussir dans l’environnement concurrentiel d’aujourd’hui. Grâce à l’appui de notre partenaire, Service Canada, YES a offert encore une fois cette année son programme de stage et a obtenu un taux de rétention de plus de 90 %, alors que 10 stagiaires ont trouvé une place chez les employeurs-hôtes.

PROGRAMME DE MENTORAT Notre programme de mentorat Pay It Forward vise à faciliter le transfert des compétences et du savoir d’un professionnel d’expérience (le mentor) à une personne moins expérimentée (le mentoré). Le programme de mentorat de YES aide à effectuer la transition entre l’école et le travail ou le travail autonome par le transfert des connaissances du mentor au mentoré. Cette année, YES a jumelé avec succès 19 mentorés et mentors.
