Bernaville Nurseries is a family run, independent business established over 65 years ago by the Jackson family. There are now three generations of the family working within the business, dedicated to providing excellent service and quality.
A success story born out of hard work and determination; over the years the traditional nursery has evolved into a comprehensive garden centre but is still fully committed to growing a wide selection of exceptional quality plants. The garden centre now includes a large furniture (indoor & outdoor) showroom, a comprehensive pet centre, a huge selection of gifts and interior decorations, a clothing department and a café & restaurant.

Plants
We have a comprehensive range of outdoor plants together with a wealth of knowledge and advice should you need it.
All our hardy perennial plants carry a twelvemonth guarantee; we will replace any hardy stock plant that dies within one year of purchase provided that it is returned with the plant label and sale receipt.
Our friendly, knowledgeable and helpful plant team are on hand 7 days a week to offer expert advice to help you choose the perfect plants.
The majority of our bedding and vegetable plants are home grown on our nursery in peat reduced or peat-free compost using recycled pots whenever possible.
Gardening
From garden basics such as fertilisers and weedkillers to specialist tools and equipment, our gardening sundries department stocks it all.
Restaurant, Cafe & Food Market
Overlooking the lily pond, our restaurant and its conservatory with its retractable roof is the ideal place to catch up with friends or meet up with family. Choose from a daily menu of freshly prepared hot and cold dishes as well as a regular range of light snacks, sandwiches and salads. Set yourself up for the day with a Bernaville breakfast (served until 11am). Lunches are served between 12 and 2’oclock, and our fantastic selection of snacks are available all day.
Situated on the mezzanine level, the café at Bernaville serves a selection of scrumptious homemade cakes, quiches and sandwiches. Treat yourself to a fair trade tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
Food Market
Find a selection of tasty treats in our Food Market. Try our tempting selection of locally sourced speciality food and beverages including deli items, fresh bread and cakes, biscuits, milk, eggs, preserves, gluten & sugar free alternatives plus alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
Afternoon Tea
For a real treat, book an afternoon tea. Enjoy either our traditional tea with a selection of homemade finger sandwiches, scrumptious cakes and homemade scones with clotted cream and jam or try our savoury tea with cheese scones, savoury pastries, a selection of cheeses, flat bread, chutney and olives. Booking is required, please allow 24hrs notice and book over the phone by calling 01392 851326, or ask a member of staff in store. Gift Vouchers for the teas are available.
Pet Care
We stock all you need for your dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, indoor and outdoor aquatics and poultry. Popular brands such as Royal Canin, James Wellbeloved, Iams and Whiskas are available along with expert advice from trained staff on how to best care for your animal. We fully support eco conscious brands such as compostable waste bags, recycled plastic pet toys and no hide chews for your canine friends and we welcome them to the store to try on collars, coats and harnesses to make sure they get the perfect fit.
We have everything you need to encourage wild birds, hedgehogs and all wildlife to your garden through the seasons. We have an excellent selection of bird tables, birdbaths, food & feeders and houses, as well as bug hotels and accessories for other wildlife.
Gifts & Homeware
Our gift area is bursting with inspirational gift ideas, suitable for all ages. Vases, toys, silk flowers, mugs, books, dining accessories, jewellery and soft furnishings, the list is almost endless…plus, we also offer a gift wrapping service at the till to save you even more time! Our award-winning card department stocks plastic free and even plantable cards for any occasion and we support local artists such as Andy Wills photographic greetings cards.
Make your house a home with a huge selection of fragrance including soy wax candles, diffusers and flameless candles too!
Clothing
We stock a large selection of ladies casual wear and footwear with new seasonal pieces arriving all the time. Discover labels such as TigiWear, Lazy Jacks, Brakeburn, LV Clothing and Lily & Me.

Whether you want to build a rockery, create a new patio, grow your own produce, or set the scene with a new garden sculpture, our hard landscaping department has everything you will need to transform your garden into the perfect outdoor space.
We stock everything you need for your pond/water feature. From pumps, filters and liners to pond treatments and accessories.
All our wooden landscaping products come with an FSc sustainably sourced timber guarantee.
Houseplants
Situated just inside the entrance on the mezzanine level, our houseplant selection includes, cacti, foliage, citrus, bonsai and orchids.
Did you know that houseplants can clean the air in your home? There are a variety of popular indoor plants that are beneficial to have in your home for removing pollutants (found in paints, wallpapers, plastics, detergents and cosmetics), giving out oxygen and combating carbon dioxide. Some of the best include Draceana, Sanseveria, Aloe, Chlorophytum (spider plant), Phalaenopsis orchids, Ficus and Spathiphyllum (peace lily).
