At Hilltop Garden Centre we are an independant, family run garden centre, priding ourselves on our customer service and satisfaction.

Many years ago the garden centre at the top of the hill was more of a small greenhouse which simply grew a small selection of tomato plant. In 1982 A Mr John Ashby brought this small nursery, and he worked many years, with long hours alongside his wife Pat. Together they grew the business and put Hilltop Garden Centre on the map. We are now a team of 30 people. All our staff members are friendly, polite and happy to help.

In store you’ll find 2 showrooms, packed with high quality garden furniture and garden accessories. An enormous selection of plants sweeps around our cafe and leads down to a play area with outdoor seating. We also boast one of the UK’s biggest water feature displays and have a great selection of bird/ pet care & homeware. At Christmas time our whole shop turns into a winter wonderland!

ACER

Adding an Acer shrub or tree is a perfect way to introduce autumnal colours into your outdoor space regardless of the amount of space you have, they are easy to grow both in the ground and in containers due to their compact size.

ALPINES

Alpines are small, hardy plants that live for several years, producing beautiful, vibrant colours. They are low maintenance and prefer to be kept in sunny, dry conditions.

BEDDING PLANTS

Bedding plants are a great way to add colour to otherwise dull raised beds, hanging baskets or containers, and can be an annual, biennial, or tender perennial.

CLIMBING PLANTS

Climbing plants are a perfect way to add vibrant colour to walls and perfect for smaller outdoor spaces that don’t necessarily have the option to plant large shrubs.

EDIBLES

We stock all kinds of edible plants from strawberries, apples, raspberries, blackberries, redcurrants and blueberrie to tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and more!

PERENNIALS

Perennials are incredibly popular due to being colourful and low maintenance plants. We have a huge range of perennials stocked throughout the year; all hand chosen by our expert gardeners.

ROSES

Roses are an incredibly popular choice due to their colour and pleasant fragrance. There’s a Rose to suit everyone, stocking climbing roses, shrubs and smaller roses

HANGING BASKETS

Our summer pre-made hanging baskets are all made in house by our expert gardeners and are available in all shapes and sizes!

SHRUBS

We have a huge variety of shrubs available in plenty of shapes, sizes and colours! From something that blooms vibrant hues to growing fruit, we have it all.

TREES

Planting trees can be beneficial to your garden, by producing natural shade as well as shelter for the local birds and other wildlife.

INDOOR PLANTS

Houseplants are a perfect way to brighten your home, regardless of whether you’re a gardening novice or expert.

We keep a huge range of houseplant breeds in stock from snake plants, spider plants, monstera, ferns, philodendron, cacti, succulents, air plants and much more!

Most houseplants will not require a huge amount of attention to stay healthy, and many houseplants are easy to care for, however be sure to water appropriately!

Although each houseplant will vary on their watering requirements, when unsure it’s best to lean on the dry side rather than give your plants too much, as overwatering is one of the most common causes of houseplant death.

We have selected a wide range of garden furniture sets, including aluminium garden furniture, rattan garden furniture & metal garden furniture. Our wide range comes from numerous manufacturers, including Hartman, Supremo, Leisuregrow and Zest 4 Leisure.

In our extensive range, you’ll find traditional and contemporary styled bistro sets, dining sets, comfy & stylish sofa sets, wooden benches, duo seats, sun loungers, and companions. We also have relaxing hammocks, swing seats & egg chairs. There is also a great selection of garden tables, gazebos and wooden garden furniture, including arbours and aches.

Cafe Everything Fresh and Affordable

Offering a wide range of home-cooked meals to satisfy your breakfast, lunch and dinner needs as well as a selection of cakes and desserts.

At our cafe we also cater for kids and can provide lunchboxes or hot meals, so bring your whole family! Our cafe also accepts gift vouchers!

We have a large outdoor seating area for you to enjoy, which you are able to take meals from our cafe to - with a newly built childrens play area right alongside!
