Hardy plants
Evergreen shrubs give structure all year round, while deciduous shrubs and tree give seasonal flowering and attractive foliage from spring to late autumn when some turn too fiery autumnal colours.
The same applies to climbing plants from the scented chocolate vine and jasmines to the firethorn with its winter berries providing winter colour. Fruit trees and soft fruit bushes can be found along side our “grow your own” section. Heavily scented rose bushes, and a large selection of coastal and shade plants along with a range of A-Z hardy plants.
Perennial Plants
Perennial means “lasting a long time, or happening repeatedly”. Perennial plants live for more than two years. We tend to refer to perennials as long-lived plants. They mostly flower in spring, summer or autumn, with a handful blooming in winter, and many have attractive foliage too.
There are perennials to suit every type of garden, for any aspect or soil type, and they range in size from lowgrowing herbaceous plants for the front of a border, to medium sized ones for the middle, to giants a couple of metres tall for the back. They establish and grow quickly, with most reaching their full size in a few growing seasons. Many perennials make good cut flowers and the more compact varieties are excellent for growing in pots. Most are flowering plants that are very attractive to pollinators.
We keep an extensive range from mid-march through to mid October when we tend to concentrate on autumn flowering perennials and shrubs.
