PLANTS Whilst you may be used to some Garden Centre’s recently turning in to retail shops that have smaller plant displays on show, we like to stick to our roots. We are still very much a traditional nursery and growing plants is what we have always done and continue to do so. A huge amount of the stock you find for sale is grown on site and we pride ourselves in only selling quality plants. We have one of the largest plant displays in the area and we try to offer as much variety as possible. When you walk out onto our beds you will see a large selection of Bedding, Perennials, Ornamental Shrubs and Tree’s, Roses as well as Fruit Tree’s and Bushes. We try to give as much choice as possible all year round.
Whether you’re a novice gardener or an expert. If you are unsure about anything or want any advice, please just ask! Every member of staff here at Spring Green Nurseries is involved with the growing of our plants and we pride ourselves in giving free advice and knowledge to anyone who needs it. PERENNIALS Although they die back in the winter, each spring Perennials come back bigger, better and more beautiful than the year before. We offer a huge selection of Perennials throughout the year and recommend planting in groups of different sizes to have the best effect in your garden. SHRUBS Shrubs are essential in any garden, they provide the main backdrop against which everything else is seen. They can create colourful structure to the garden when planted together or alternatively make beautiful stand alone feature plants. To create some striking effects and colours it is best to plant both a mixture of Evergreen and Deciduous shrubs. ORNAMENTAL TREES We have a large selection of Ornamental tree’s available. Most of our tree’s are between 6-7feet tall and will fit in most cars. We also have some larger specimen plants that are available to be delivered. FRUIT TREES & VEGETABLES As more people want to grow their own produce, fruit trees have become popular for in the garden with a range of different varieties. As well as fruiting bushes for those who don’t have the space for larger tree’s. From late March to early June we have a huge amount of fruit & vegetables available! ROSES We try to offer as much selection of Roses as possible, constantly changing the varieties that we get in. Hybrid Tea roses are the most popular with their large, perfectly formed ‘bud flowers’ which are usually scented with a broad colour palette. Floribunda roses produce masses of flowers in large clusters with colour over a long season. We also stock a selection of David Austin roses. CONIFERS We stock a range of conifers from dwarf conifers to make wonderful feature plants in small gardens to larger specimens of various colours and sizes. HEDGING There is no rule as such on what plants can be used as hedging and more people are trying to create hedges out of different plants to add colour rather than just a wall of green. We find the most popular hedging plant used currently is the Common Laurel, it is fast growing and very hardy. Laurels are something we grow every year and come in a number of sizes.

FOR THE GARDEN TOOLS & ACCESSORIES Tools and Accessories are essential in keeping a garden well maintained, whether it be pruning tree’s or edging your lawn. We offer a large choice of gardening tools to suit all your needs, ranging from high quality brands such as Burgon & Ball and Fiskars as well as cheaper alternatives from Wolf and Wilkinson Sword. We have 8 wall stands full of tools and are sure you will find what you’re looking for.
POTS & PLANTERS We have a large outdoor display full of stone and terracotta pots in different shapes and sizes. They come in a variety of colours from natural, glazed and even hand painted. The majority of our pots are frost resistant which makes them less likely to crack in the winter months. We also offer a large selection of decorative plastic pots in different colours and styles for people who want a pot that is easier to handle. We have coloured plain pots. Some with stone or terracotta effect and some with different moulded designs.

WATER FEATURES We are one of Yorkshire’s biggest stockists of Water Features. All of our Water Features are self contained and made from a frost proof resin, they all come with a 12 month guarantee and are plug and play. With over 40 Water Features on show we have something for everyone. We also have a large selection of water features that are available to order in case none of the Features on show take your fancy.
GARDEN BENCHES We have a large range of high quality Garden Benches, most of which are by a company called Alexander Rose. Alexander Rose produce benches out of top quality timber in many different sizes and designs. We also stock a small selection of cheaper pine furniture. The designs usually change throughout the season as we get new pieces in stock.
WILD BIRD CARE Wild Bird food is something we have always sold and something we find more and more people are getting involved with. As they lose more of their habitats, they are finding it difficult to seek as much food as they need, especially in the winter months. We have a large selection of bird food to choose from with varieties such as suet, peanuts, and sunflower seeds to attract all types of birds in to the garden. As well as a large range of accessories from bird feeding stations, hanging feeders, nest boxes and much more.

GARDEN FURNITURE
Our Furniture showroom is over 2500 square feet and has over 40 sets on display, we have something to suit everybody’s needs. We have a huge range of rattan, aluminium and fabric furniture all on show. Our Full Weave range comes with a 7 year guarantee on the Frame & Weave and our Flat Weave range comes with a 5 year guarantee on both the Frame & Weave. The sets are extremely high quality and fully weather proof. The furniture we stock is by Nova, if you have seen something you like but it is not in store we can most likely source it for you!

BLAKES COFFEE & CO Blakes Coffee & Co are the newest addition to the Garden Centre. Having undergone huge renovations they have recently opened with huge success! With locally sourced Yorkshire products they serve a wide range of home cooked meals and cakes as well as an array of drinks.

GIFTWARE FOR THE HOME Although we are still a traditional Nursery, a large part of our indoors is dedicated to giftware. We have a large selection of candles and fragrance based products such as simmering granules and incense sticks. We have a huge range of artificial plants and flowers to cater for everyone’s taste’s as well as grave decorations and ornaments. We also stock a variety of indoor feature pieces such as ornaments, clocks, canvases, mirrors, vases and much more.
