WOOL THREAD MODEL
PROGRAM ANALYSIS Physical technique: The wool thread tower refers to the analog computing technique that forms efficient structural system. The physical model is made by pulling taught thread on both top and bottom plate, then the thread is slaked and dipped into water. This physical model established the methodology of structure system. It does not belong to the micro views and biological shapes. Instead, it is a sort of creativity that enlarges the organism in daily lives. While, there are lots of improvements from physical model to the final digital one. The biggest question is the method to represent the essential elements to the final model. The process consists of study, categorized, connections, and fabrication. Indeed, not all natural things need to be linked to the art and architecture model. Louis khan said before, the difference between human and nature is, the creativity of nature is generous to the world, while the intelligence of human beings is to pick the most valuable things they want. It is the same concept as in the parametric modellings. In this case, the model needs to present the vertical connections due to the constructive nature of the large and small angles. Moreover, the functional relationships between architecture and concepts should be balanced. In this example, the range of ideas in function considerations, diverse spaces and application environments are evident.
