TESTIMONIAL

19th Mar 2019

Su Huiping Singapore Polytechnic 500 Dover Road Singapore 139651 To Whom It May Concern I had the pleasure of teaching Yin Wei Hao in his Diploma of Architecture studies in 2016 and 2017. I was his lecturer for Architectural Design Studio module as well as his Personal Tutor. Wei hao was very passionate and inquisitive in his year 2 classes. He was receptive to criticism and would learn from other students and lecturers feedback as well. He exhibited responsibility towards his studies, through his commitment to timely submissions as well as punctuality. During presentations, he was articulate, professional and confident in his delivery. He had shown tremendous improvement from Year 1 to the end of his diploma studies. Wei hao’s strength in his technical capabilities such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) through the use of Revit software helped him in the execution of his work. If he had been given more training or opportunities in stretching the use of BIM, he will go far in this field if he were to pursue BIM in the future. Despite the intensive commitment of the coursework, he still managed to be involved in social work such as being part of the planning committee of SP primers clementi food donation drive in 2016. He took on a leadership position, helping to map out the efficient food collection plan of various blocks with his fellow committee members. On the ground, he ensured that his fellow volunteers clearly understood the operation and their welfare. He was involved as game masters in the CCA camps, ensuring that games were properly carried out. He was also involved as a NDP 2016 motivator, engaging and performing with the public crowds. As a close lecturer and tutor of Wei Hao, he had shown holistic development in his attitude in his projects and CCA. His growth in his attitude therefore contributed to his growth in design and technical skills too. I am confident that with his positive growth mindset, he would continue to hone his skills in future work projects and studies. Yours Sincerely, Su Huiping Year Coordinator Diploma in Architecture

To Whom it may concern, Yin Wei Hao graduated from the Diploma in Architecture course at the Singapore Polytechnic (SP) in 2018. Wei Hao was a passionate and inquisitive student and worked hard in his time at school. Being his Personal Tutor and also Module lecturer at the time, I found that he diligently clarified any queries he had regarding design issues and other matters in general. This ensured that he had a good grasp of what he was taught and he was able to apply his knowledge effectively in his project. A strong and independent worker, Wei Hao was able to arrive at new ideas himself and resolve them to a high degree with some guidance from lecturers. He was also able to develop his ideas further to arrive at a final solution that showcased his excellent technical skills and also meet the academic requirements to a very good degree. Wei Hao is a decisive person. When he arrives at a good idea he makes effort to take them to their logical conclusion. Wei hao was always polite to his lecturers. He is enthusiastic about his work, possessing a positive outlook and willing to take up any challenges that arise. Ready to accept new challenges and to synergise new suggestions and developments into his original design concept, Wei Hao can think critically and pushes the boundaries of his design. Wei Hao has a hunger to expand his learning beyond the confines of the classroom and this has seen him take part in a 4 week campus upgrading project with 4 other peers. Together, they proposed various functional and aesthetic changes to the spaces along some school blocks and sports areas. Together, they presented their proposal to the SP Estate director, and this upgrading proposal would be executed in reality over time. Not content to stay within just Architecture and having a heart for the community, he still managed to be involved in social work such as being a group leader in SP primers Clementi food donation drive in 2017 despite the intensive commitment of his coursework,. He was also involved as a game master in the CCA camps, ensuring that games were properly carried out. He was also involved as a NDP 2017 motivator, engaging and performing with the public crowds. I am confident that Wei Hao’s initiative, self-motivation and strong learning abilities will allow him to meet any future challenges, making him a certain asset to any university or organisation he joins. I look forward to seeing him do well. Sincerely,

NG Wen Yi Lecturer, Year 1 Coordinator

1) The sun produces visible light which consists of photons. The solar panels are equipped with active solar trackers to follow the Sun path to maximize the solar energy captured. The panels consists of silicon crystals which absorbs photons and produces electrons as direct electrical current. 2) The direct electrical currents(Yellow) flows into batteries(Purple) to be stored. 3) When electricity is needed, the direct current from the batteries flows into the inverter(Blue) to be converted to alternating current(Red). The electrical cable runs down through the riser to the sky-terraces. 4)Lighting consists of Energy Saving LED to maximize the time the lighting run on the Solar Power.

SOLAR PANELS -ACTIVE HORIZONTAL AXIS SOLAR TRACKER

A) The Solar-panels are equipped with solar trackers which are light sensors that reads the amount of sunlight that is hitting the panel. B) Circuit board reads the data recorded by the light sensor and calculate the angle the panel be rotated and instructs the motor to move at the specific angle. C) The motor rotates the panel such that the sunlight hits the panel at 90 degrees from morning to late afternoon, maximizing the solar energy captured, increasing the efficiency of energy captured.
