Indonesia Career Evening 2020

II

OUR SPECIAL GRATITUDE TO

On behalf of the Indonesian Embassy in London, I warmly welcome you to Indonesia Career Evening (ICE) 2020, hosted by the Young Indonesian Professionals’ Association in the UK (YIPA UK). This year marks YIPA UK’s sixth year of running ICE. Over the past six years, YIPA UK has made tremendous contributions in providing Indonesian students in the UK and across the EU the opportunity to gain career insights from employers, Indonesian professionals, and fellow Indonesian students alike.

Adam Tugio

Charge D’affaires at Indonesian Embassy in London

Through this annual career event, YIPA UK in association with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and GIPA are facilitating career development of Indonesian students in the UK and EU. I am thrilled to see YIPA UK’s unwavering commitment to be an engine for human capital development overseas. Whilst this year’s ICE is particularly different than the previous ones due to its virtual format, I strongly believe that the role of YIPA UK in supporting bright Indonesian talents in the UK and EU becomes ever more important in this unprecedented time. Given the tough post-pandemic job market, strong human capital is essential to jumpstart Indonesia’s economic recovery, and UK/EU university students can be a catalyst for this push. As the breadth of participating companies at ICE continues to grow, more industries are given the opportunity to leverage this career platform to tap into a pool of bright future leaders. From Indonesian-based global firms to Inter-governmental organisations, I am deeply grateful to all of the participating companies and professionals for helping make this event a success. On this occasion, let me on behalf of the Indonesian Embassy express our highest appreciation to YIPA UK for continuously adapting and improving in organising this excellent initiative. I would also like to thank ICAEW, GIPA, the British Embassy Jakarta, AngloIndonesian Society, British Chamber of Commerce Indonesia for endorsing and supporting this annual career event.
