LESSON 9- The Nose and Its Parts The Nose Our nose is a part of our face. Without our nose, we cannot tell the odor or smell of things. The nose is the organ that contains our sense of smell.

The nose has two holes. They are called nostrils. Inside the nostrils are the hairs, mucous membrane and nasal cavity.

LESSON 10-The Skin and Its Use The Skin The skin covers our whole body. The skin is our sense of touch. It has 2 layers. They are the outer skin and the inner skin.

Uses of skin Epidermis The outer skin protect the body from germs. It stop water from getting in and out of the body. It helps regulate the body temperature. The inner Skin or Dermis The inner skin is the layer below the outer skin. It is where the nerve endings are found. The nerve make us feel the heat, cold, pain and pressure.
