YMCA of Central Texas

FromPlans to Progress: Expanding Programs and Facilities for Growing Communities

What does it t ake t o do more good?

At the YMCA of Central Texas we beieve what our Ydoes is good Our programs and services make a d fference in the quality of life for those who particpate? and that s good So,why woud wenot want to do as much good as poss be?

If that?s the case, then, what does it take to do more good?

We , there are probably a number of correct answers when it comesto that question Weare not sure that we can give you all the answers, however, when it comes to doing more good the YMCAof Central Texas way, we feel fairly certain that we can provide a ttle local nsight.

First and foremost, a YMCA that s committed to do more goodmust be led by volunteers and staff who have an abso ute passion to serve others Serving others is a cal ng for thosewho ove doing Y work? think Forrest Gump, think peas and carrots? think whatever makes you rea ze that good Y people love to serve others Furthermore, the leadership of theYMCA must bel eve w thout a shadow of a doubt that YMCA programs and serv ces truly make a difference Smp y put, if YMCA programs like swimlessons , camp, Gymnastics, wellness classes and afterschoo care are?good?, why wouldn? t leadership want to serve as many people as we can? you don? t need to answer that, it isrhetorical, and the proof is on the faces of the thousands of people we serveevery week It is this belief, and the passion to serve, that dr ves YMCA leaders to do more good, but that sonly part of the answer

Next, n order to ?do more good,?there must be a way for YMCA eadersto help break down any financial barriers that woud preclude anyone fromparticipation inYMCA act vities This usual y requires a culture of philanthrop c support where Y leaders exemplifythe values of the organizations commitment to ?turn no one away?and set the example for commun ty giving YMCA?s, where leadership is recognized for setting the pace, have the abil ty to leveragetremendous social impact which is then transformed into f nancial aid for those who w shto participate in Yactivities but cannot afford to do so.

Finally, YMCA leadership must be committed to prov d ng the highest quality of services This commitment requ res modern, safe facilities, equipment, and outdoor spacesthat accommodate the YMCA serv ce delivery plan Everyone deserves quality services

Expanding community service and partnering n the economic growthin rural areas add another level of challenge to ?doing more good.?YMCA leaders who find ways to br ngYMCA activities to emerging and underserved areas truly engage ?other?partners who believe?doing more good together?might be the only way to quickly bring qua ty of l fe amenities to those communitieswherecore services domnate the use of pub c funds The YMCA of Central Texas isproud to partner with loca municipalities and community partners who share this vis on

This YMCA of 2023 Central Texas?Annual Report is proof that when there is a wil to do more good, there is ultimately a way. We want to thank each and every oneof our donors, sponsors, partners, members, participants and staff who help us to successfully ?do more good?each and every day We look forward to continu ng to serve our communit es with our current and future partners n?do ng more good ?

Sincerey,

YOUTH PARTICIPATION IN YPROGRAMMING

Each year our YMCA raises funds that provide Direct Financal Assistance to ind viduals and groups in need Volunteerismhas been a driving force in the strength and power of our civil society since this country?s founding. The independent sector has announced that the latest value of a volunteer hour is $33.49. This shows the incredible contributions vo unteers make in our communit es and country The funds we raised plus the community support by utilizing vo unteer leadership lowers the cost of programs and maximizes participation.
