Comic Book Creat ion

Ages 8 yrs - 15 yrs

Join our talented teamof Graphic Artists, Card Game Enthusiast, & Comic Book Gurus to create your very own Heroes of Legend! This class will explore the history and lore of traditional comic books and card games The students will create and develop a Comic Book or Card Game Hero and tell their unique story. Each student will learn how to write, draw and illustrate their stories to share with the world.

Board Game Creat ion Lab

Ages 9 yrs - 14 yrs

Play, Learn, & Pitch Your Idea! ? We combine Entrepreneurship, Art, Game Play, Technology & FUN! This camp will challenge and inspire your child to see the world in different ways, primarily 3 dimensional! Throughout the week, students will play many different types of board games then work in teams to design a Board Game, complete with rules of engagement and then pitch that board game to a panel of Local Board Game Geeks in hopes that their game will be chosen and receive seed money to continue with the dreamof creating their own Board Game!

Sewing

Ages 9-99 yrs

Private (1:1) and Semi-Private (2:1) lessons available Learn basic sewing skills like pattern layouts, cutting, constructing the project and how to use a sewing machine.

Babysit t ing Cert ificat ion

Ages 9-15 yrs

Our two-part course takes teens through all elements of becoming a well-trained babysitter in order to handle situations that may arise when taking care of children The course starts out by teaching the basics of handling children, changing diapers, feedings, rescue breathing and general safety rules. Students will also learn to build a resume and how to manage their babysitting business. The second part of the course takes students through the Red Cross First Aid/CPR training for babies and young children. Once both parts of the course are completed, students will be tested in order to obtain a certification

Beginning Engineering

Grades Kinder & 1st Grade

LEGO© ® lessons and games, and LEGO© ® sets with plenty of instructors to help with building

They will be challenged with the LEGO© ® WeDo robotic programwhere they will build & program their own robotic creations and learn about gears, pulleys, levers and more! Themes include: Amazing Machines, Fun & Games, and Amusement Park

Advanced Engineering & Programming

Grades 2nd - 6th Grade

For our advancing robot engineers?entering 2nd & 6th grade, lessons incorporate technology concepts, engineering principles, programming and imagination Students will build robots, simple machines, LEGO© ® Brick creations and learn about science concepts all while having fun They will be challenged with the LEGO© ® Mindstorms NXT robotics program& EV3 Construction Kits where they will build and programtheir own robotic creations!

Ages 4 yrs - 14 yrs

Student participants will experience several exciting activities over the course of the week-long sessions. Every skill level, ranging from beginner to super geek, will need to fire up their brains and prepare to work in cooperative engineering teams The Maker camp includes the following: Coding Challenges, LEGO© Master Builders, Simple Machines, Movie Making, LEGO© Mosaic art, LEGO© Ev3, NXT and WeDo Robotics systems.

Kids work in pairs to create a short story, draw it out, and build it with LEGO© Bricks, and then they bring it to life on film Each session students will choose fromTHEMEDLEGO© KITSfrom MINECRAFT to SUPERHEROS(and more) and using those kits, create their very own movie, complete with sound effects & even music A copy of all projects will be provided via a screening link from the 4Reelz YouTube page for screening purposes

This class is designed for toddlers and their parents! Together they will work to increase the child's attention span, special awareness, and motor skills This will be accomplished with group activities like games and songs, rotation on bars, beam, floor and trampoline

Ages 4-5 yrs

This class prepares your child for the beginner level Your child will be introduced to basic body positioning and gymnastics terminology, basic tumbling skills, proper technique using bars, balance beamand vault

6 Week Int ro

Ages 5-13 yrs

This 6-week class is used by instructors as an evaluation tool Instructors will teach the basic skills needed to promote to the beginner level classes It may be necessary to repeat the 6-week class before moving forward to the monthly programoffered at the CHASCOFamily YMCA.

This 6-week class, is all about learning different styles of dance Weeks one and two will be focused on Ballet techniques, weeks three and four will be focused on Hip Hop techniques, and week five and six will be focused on Jazz techniques
