The first ever ‘ is a brand new initiative by Aberdeen International Youth Festival (AIYF) and is open to competent musicians who have a burning desire to become an indie sensation or a rock n roll star. This exciting and innovative Educational Course is free and open to young musicians aged 14 - 21. The project introduces a new initiative from AIYF and Live Music Now to engage young musicians in four days of intensive workshops. The youngsters will get to show off their hard work at a live gig during the festival. Participants can sharpen their current skills whilst picking up new ones from ‘Miniature Dinosaurs’, who will be on hand to lead the Rock Up team into guitar heaven. Miniature Dinosaurs are a Pop/Rock band from Stirling, Scotland, formed in 2009. The band consists of Barry Maclean (Vocals/Guitar), Craig Ferrie (Guitar/Keys), Alban Dickson (Bass) and Sam Waller (Drums). This new project promises to be a rewarding venture for the participants, working alongside established musicians. Places on this course are limited, so be sure to submit your applications as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
