Bun Army
We’ve said it for some time now but our fans are our 12th man, the support both home & away last season at times gave the players that extra push, however as the saying goes there is no place like home…we can’t wait to see you at the Oval!

Overview
Back by popular demand to help you get to know more about the players, management and committee throughout the season
In the hot seat for the very first time is one of the clubs summer signings who is our second poshest player, resides in Pontyclun but his roots are Blackwood.
Name / Age – Jake Cross (27)
Position – Midfielder
Favourite Buns Memory – Not been here long, but the boys efforts against Britton Ferry was one of the reasons that made me join, knew I’d fit right in
Most Intelligent at the Club – Have to back myself for this one, Dane’s a close 2nd from the intellectual discussions we’ve had over a G&T
Least Intelligent at the Club – Drew not even a debate
Worse Memory in a Buns Shirt – Probably Swansea, not a nice feeling at all
Hard Man – Jacob ‘right hook’ Issacs hope the ban was worth it
Best Trainer – Alex Rees is a worker, always puts the graft in, Dre & Jacob work hard as well
The Joker – Always find myself laughing at Zac when I can eventually understand him, top lad fair play!
Worse Trainer – Too many boys so cant really single one out
Best Tekkers – Cory’s got some quick feet, very difficult to play against when he’s on it Quickest in the Team – Cory but Kalium looks like he built for it as well
Surprising Fact – Sure you can tell by looking at me I’ve broken my nose 5 times and I probably hold the highest bench press & Lat Pull down of the whole squad Expectations for this Season – I think we can stay up but we just need a big buy in from all the boys the next few months
Carol FryThe Illustrious100 Club
Not one who likes the limelight but following our last home game to Trefelin, it saw just the 6th player in the clubs history to score 100 goals for the club.
‘The Tank’ has been an absolute credit to the three different managers he’s played and scored under, the 100 goals have been achieved across six different divisions in just 158 appearances.
For those that have watched the clubs rise these past few years I think we can all say its not just his goals that makes him a special player his work rate for his teammates is an example for any youngster coming through.

Leon now joins the all time list of Chris Perry, Gavin Fry, Damian Roberts, Craig Wells and current all time leading scorer Cei Mason. #hesoneofourown
Double Centurion
A shout out to our long serving left back Zack Philpott who a few weeks ago made 200th appearance for his hometown club
Had it not been for injuries, the odd suspension in his younger days and a brief spell applying his trade on the rugby field as the Gavin Henson of Wattstown RFC he would be pushing the 300 mark by now.
However this season he’s re-gained his fitness and we have no doubt he has plenty of years left in what has been a great career with the buns to date.
Over 200 games across 8 different divisions and 6 Tier’s of Welsh football, during that time he’s scored some unbelievable goals and has singly handily kept the freeze spray profits at an all time high.

Photo of the Week
Whilst results these past few weeks have been tough to take this photo is a great example of what this club is about.
One is 17 year old Laith Harris making his first team appearance against Trefelin and the other player nearly twice his age marathon man Alex Rees who in years gone by played alongside Laith’s dad who was making his 278th club appearance.
These past few weeks due to injuries, suspensions, commitment issues the buns management have called upon the next generation who have all stood up and shown the desire and ability that we knew they had, with the likes of Cody Adcock, Ronan Fleming and Tyrel Herbert all making their senior debuts.

Thank to Perry Dobbin for the photos despite the horrible conditions that dayBlood, Sweat & Buns
As a club we are delighted to be working with the Welsh blood service as part of their blood sweat and cheers campaign.
Along with the FAW and all the clubs that make up the Cymru league's we are looking to raise awareness of the lifesaving work that the Welsh blood service do and to hopefully encourage more of the Welsh footballing fanbase to donate blood.

Proud Supporter
As we did last December we are joining the clubs who make up the JD Cymru league's and a host of clubs throughout the Scottish and English league's to support shelter/ shelter Cymru by ditching our home colour's for today's fixture.
Almost 1,000 clubs from the EFL, non-League, the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) and the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) are lined up to support Shelter’s #NoHomeKit campaign this festive season, smashing last year’s total of 261 clubs.
The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the work shelter do and to hopefully raise funds for the life changing work they do.
For more information on shelter Cymru’s projects and how you can help please follow the link below.
Carol FryLong Live The
The word ‘Legend’ is often used too lightly with little to no evidence to quantify such a statement / title.
However for anyone associated to the club or those with a good understanding of our history I think we can safely say that Cei ‘The King’ Mason more than deserves such a mantle.
He’s represented the club since 2005 and has applied his trade from Tier 7 through to Tier 2, even he thought that this would be one achievement too many in what has been an illustrious career but last Friday he once again showed his love and commitment for the club netting his 150th & 151st goal.
There have been some great players over the years with only a handful in the exclusive 100 club but Mason is now out in front and this may be a record that that remains unchallenged for many a decade to come.
Carol FryHis work rate on the field is unreal but the last 4 years its his work off the field, that many would not of seen, but for those that have I think we can confidently say had it not been, we would quite simply not be applying our trade at this level.
From everyone at the club we wanted to say a massive thank you to West Link Mechanical Services who a few weeks ago won the club raffle to secure primary sponsorship for our Reserves Team home kit.
This was worn for the first time in the clubs first outing on the new and impressive Baglan field a few weeks ago.
Club News Season Tickets
Being the very first time the club has offered something like this and despite the ask we were a bit nervous whether the up take would of been positive.
We wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has purchased a season ticket this season, its definitely something we would be looking at each year to help keep the costs down for our supporters.
Carol FryAhead of the festive campaign which see’s meet local neighbours Cambrian in a double header we wanted to say a huge thank you for all the messages and support we’ve had so far this season.
W know the results haven’t always reflected the efforts but we assure you we wont give up and are ready to fight for everything to make sure we are a Cymru South team in 2023-2024

Support for George Hopkins
A few weeks ago the club were rocked by the news of an incident that impacted one of our star youth team players George Hopkins. We all knew what a courageous young man George was whether out on the field for the buns or showing his old man and older brother who the better boxer was in the ring.
The strength and bravery shown for someone so young is testament to his character and from everyone associated to the club we wish him all the best.
We know times are tough at present but anything you can spare to help this young man on his road to recovery would be greatly appreciated.
On behalf of George and all the family they would like to say a massive thank you for everyone’s well wishes and generous donations.

Christmas Campaign
The first ever league fixture between these two clubs with Cambrian who have been by far the leading club in the Rhondda valleys for many a year.
The two sides now face each twice in the space of three days over the festive campaign as we draw a close to football in 2022. It would be great to see you at the Oval Boxing Day in your new Xmas attire, with friendships aside both teams will be going all out for those much needed 3 points.
