As we welcome Llanelli Town to the Oval today we once again face another of the Cymru league clubs who have qualified for UEFA competition. The reds qualified for European competition for seven consecutive seasons between 2006 – 2013 featuring in the Intertoto cup, Europa League & Champions League.
Despite falling to make it past the qualifying rounds the club did get some memorable moments making the second qualifying round and getting victories before going out on aggregate. Most notably a second leg away 1-0 win over Scottish premiership Motherwell at airdronians Excelsior stadium thanks to a Stuart Jones goal in 09/10.
Though their finest hour came the previous season having been crowned champions in 07/08 the reds entered the champions League qualifying rounds.
In front of a sold out Stebonheath crowd defender Stuart Jones goal sealed a 1-0 victory over Latvian champions FK Ventspils to give the club a debut champions League victory before going down 4-0 at the Ventspils Olimpiskais Stadions in the second leg.
Carol Fry Carol FryAnother first for the club this year we are but we delighted to have renewed our affiliation with Brendan of ‘Lyons Den’ who has kindly agreed to sponsor our new ‘Man of the Match’ board.
For todays Easter Monday fixture we would like to thank our match day sponsor ‘Darryl Price’ who is one of the clubs longest supporters, not only helping the club off the field but a loyal fan come match day.

Expectations for this Season – 100% Staying Up
Not one who likes the limelight but following our last home game to Trefelin, it saw just the 6th player in the clubs history to score 100 goals for the club.
‘The Tank’ has been an absolute credit to the three different managers he’s played and scored under, the 100 goals have been achieved across six different divisions in just 158 appearances.
For those that have watched the clubs rise these past few years I think we can all say its not just his goals that makes him a special player his work rate for his teammates is an example for any youngster coming through.
Carol FryLeon now joins the all time list of Chris Perry, Gavin Fry, Damian Roberts, Craig Wells and current all time leading scorer Cei Mason. #hesoneofourown
A shout out to our long serving left back Zack Philpott who a few weeks ago made 200th appearance for his hometown club
Had it not been for injuries, the odd suspension in his younger days and a brief spell applying his trade on the rugby field as the Gavin Henson of Wattstown RFC he would be pushing the 300 mark by now.
However this season he’s re-gained his fitness and we have no doubt he has plenty of years left in what has been a great career with the buns to date.
Over 200 games across 8 different divisions and 6 Tier’s of Welsh football, during that time he’s scored some unbelievable goals and has singly handily kept the freeze spray profits at an all time high.

Carol FryAs a club we are delighted to be working with the Welsh blood service as part of their blood sweat and cheers campaign.
Along with the FAW and all the clubs that make up the Cymru league's we are looking to raise awareness of the lifesaving work that the Welsh blood service do and to hopefully encourage more of the Welsh footballing fanbase to donate blood.

The word ‘Legend’ is often used too lightly with little to no evidence to quantify such a statement / title.
However for anyone associated to the club or those with a good understanding of our history I think we can safely say that Cei
‘The King’ Mason more than deserves such a mantle.
He’s represented the club since 2005 and has applied his trade from Tier 7 through to Tier 2, even he thought that this would be one achievement too many in what has been an illustrious career but a few weeks ago he broke the 150 milestone and hasn’t stopped there as he sets his sights on 200+
There have been some great players over the years with only a handful in the exclusive 100 club but Mason is now out in front and this may be a record that that remains unchallenged for many a decade to come.
Carol FryHis work rate on the field is unreal but the last 4 years its his work off the field, that many would not of seen, but for those that have I think we can confidently say had it not been, we would quite simply not be applying our trade at this level.
From everyone at the club we wanted to say a massive thank you to West Link Mechanical Services who are the new sponsor for our Reserves Team home kit.
This was worn for the first time in the clubs outing on the impressive Baglan field a few weeks ago.
