Bun Army
We’ve said it for some time now but our fans are our 12th man, the support both home & away last season at times gave the players that extra push, however as the saying goes there is no place like home…we can’t wait to see you at the Oval!

The people you may not always see but behind the scenes the amount of work they put in is unbelievable, countless hours of their own time all with the aim of improving every aspect of the club on and off the field.
Todays Visitors
Being formed in the early 1980s and using the plough playing field as their home until fundraising from the club enabled them to move to their current home of Ynys park.
At the turn of the century the club tasted major success winning the FAW amateur trophy. They beat Bryntirion Athletic 6 2 to secure their first national honour.
After the merging of the South Wales amateur league and South Wales senior league to form the South Wales alliance leagues 2015/16 saw a promotion party at Ynys park as Trefelin BGC were the first team to be champions of the new South Wales Alliance Premier division.
Earning a spot in the Welsh league for the first time in the clubs history they went from strength to strength in the Welsh league system and in 2019 brought former Wrexham top scorer Lee trundle to the club. This would be a shrewd move with the club going unbeaten in the 2019/20 up until the season's suspension due to the Covid19 pandemic being awarded promotion as champions on points per game average to the newly restructured Cymru South.
Carol Fry Carol FryMan of The Match Board
Another first for the club this year we are but we delighted to have renewed our affiliation with Brendan of ‘Lyons Den’ who has kindly agreed to sponsor our new ‘Man of the Match’ board.
Todays Match Day Sponsor
For todays fixture we would like to thank Rhian Jones of ‘Elevens Beauty’ who has kindly renewed their sponsorship with the club for the 22/23 campaign.
Married to club legend and future hall of famer Sean Jones, its great to see the family continuing to support the club off the field.
With Christmas parties just around the corner don’t hesitate to get in touch with Rhian.
Young Buns – Round Up
Since our last round of the clubs next generation it's been a bumpy ride for both Richard Wilson and Richard Griffiths sides.
Youth Richard Wilsons youth side exited the FAW youth cup at the second hurdle despite a display full of character and heart against Briton Ferry Academy.
Youth development
Richard Griffiths side has come undone in league fixtures against three of the Cynon Valley’s strongest side's narrowly losing to Penrhiwceiber Rangers before a dominant Penrhiwceiber FC won a heated fixture that saw both sides finish with ten men being, followed by a trip to league leaders Aberdare Town with
goalkeeper Spencer Webber having a strong game between the sticks despite the defeat.
Carol Fry
Despite these setbacks a number of young buns have been shining with teenagers Tom Millard, Leo Williams, Laith Harris and Rori Holness stepping up and performing well for the reserves, while Tyrrell Herbert has been called into the first team squad along with Cody Acock who made his Cymru South debut away to Goytre United.
Trip Through The Archives
A photo recently shared on social media by Byron Young shows the village's footballing heritage.
Taken outside the Union Jack servicemen's club (more commonly known as the bomb) it shows the Ynyshir side of 1933 with the various trophies the side had accumulated in what was clearly a great time for football in Ynyshir.
Blood, Sweat & Buns
As a club we are delighted to be working with the Welsh blood service as part of their blood sweat and cheers campaign.
Along with the FAW and all the clubs that make up the Cymru league's we are looking to raise awareness of the lifesaving work that the Welsh blood service do and to hopefully encourage more of the Welsh footballing fanbase to donate blood.

Long Live The
The word ‘Legend’ is often used too lightly with little to no evidence to quantify such a statement / title.
However for anyone associated to the club or those with a good understanding of our history I think we can safely say that Cei ‘The King’ Mason more than deserves such a mantle.
He’s represented the club since 2005 and has applied his trade from Tier 7 through to Tier 2, even he thought that this would be one achievement too many in what has been an illustrious career but last Friday he once again showed his love and commitment for the club netting his 150th & 151st goal.
There have been some great players over the years with only a handful in the exclusive 100 club but Mason is now out in front and this may be a record that that remains unchallenged for many a decade to come.
Carol FryHis work rate on the field is unreal but the last 4 years its his work off the field, that many would not of seen, but for those that have I think we can confidently say had it not been, we would quite simply not be applying our trade at this level.
From everyone at the club we wanted to say a massive thank you to West Link Mechanical Services who a few weeks ago won the club raffle to secure primary sponsorship for our Reserves Team home kit.
This was worn for the first time in the clubs first outing on the new and impressive Baglan field, as the buns secured a much needed three points in a 6-0 win against Treowen.
Club News Season Tickets
As a club we are mindful of the rising costs of every day life so following feedback pre-season from supporters we decided to trial for the very first time a club season ticket for all league and cup home fixtures
We have been overwhelmed by the response from supporters contacting us to secure their season tickets ahead of what will be an historic day in the clubs short but successful history.
If you are interested please speak to a member of the committee or contact us via one of our social media pages they are still on offer for just £25.

Support for George Hopkins
A few weeks ago the club were rocked by the news of an incident that impacted one of our star youth team players George Hopkins. We all knew what a courageous young man George was whether out on the field for the buns or showing his old man and older brother who the better boxer was in the ring.
The strength and bravery shown for someone so young is testament to his character and from everyone associated to the club we wish him all the best Anything you can spare to help this young man on his road to recovery would be greatly appreciated
