To help you get to know the players throughout the season, the buns media team this week took time out with one of summer signings. He’s shown no remorse since joining the club in attending training head to foot in either Swansea, Cambrian or Ton Pentre gear…..

From everyone at the club we are really do appreciate this, without the support of local sponsors the club would simply not being to operate.
Club History And it’s that man yet again Jones at the Back Post
A one club man is a rarity in any sport and at any level but here is the story of one of our very own. Sean Jones son of a former Welsh Rugby International and currently player/coach and all round joker in the camp is now in his 18th season with the buns and with exception of a two year absence due to broken leg he's been a ever present in the match day squad. During his nearly two decades with the club Sean has seen the best and worst times at the Oval from relegations, struggling to field a team, to promotions and Cup finals. Joining the club as a 16 year eager to get stuck in he's played centre midfield but mostly at centre back for club. With a habit of appearing at the far post at defensive & attacking set pieces the boy who grew up in Aldergrove and playing pool in Ynyshir boy's club has earned the nickname BPJ. As well as playing/coaching Sean has been a part of the clubs committee that worked so hard to make sure the teams success wouldn't be in vain like previous buns sides that missed out due to facilities. When the boys won their first home league game of the season 5-0 with the newly refurbished Bryn Harding stand and a near 200 crowd watching along with the FC CYMRU cameras, back post Jones was one of the proudest people in the village that night. Here’s to you Sean Jones Albion's love you more than you can know and if he’s not driving the boys on the field he’s making sure Carol Fry they are having fun off it. The word legend is sometimes used too loosely at clubs nowadays but if there ever was a man deserving of that mantel its Seany Jones, he joins a very unique list of individuals who have earned the right to be called that at the buns.
Club History The 150 Club Since our last home fixture two buns have hit and surpassed a milestone figure for the club. Both Scott Jones & Joe Eason both part of the squad that got the club into the Welsh league. Captain Scott Jones reached the milestone in the clubs first league defeat away to Pontardawe Town. Going into this weekends fixture he is on a 152 appearances, with a formidable record from the penalty spot at one point having scored 12 consecutive penalties. Despite a small lapse in concentration in his early years for the promise of half time Lucozade's, tangerines and end of season trip to Dubai all expenses paid, he’s been an absolute rock in the heart of that midfield for the buns. A week later Joe Eason not only matched the feat as the buns booked their place in the FAW trophy quarter finals, scoring what would be the decisive goal in a 2-1 victory away to Cearsws it was a memorable day for Joe for more than just the number of buns appearances. Joe like Scotty is one of the engine rooms of the team we’ve lost count of the miles he’s covered in training sessions and Carol Fry more importantly during games, nicknamed the Kenyan, you’ll often see him causally sprinting up to the top of Maerdy Rez. Congratulations to both players with many more appearances left it wouldn’t surprise us if these pair pass the 300 milestone for the club.
