Todays Match Day Sponsor This week we would like to say a massive thank you to ‘Chris Seldon’ of ‘GVTS’ who has kindly sponsored todays crucial league fixture against Penydarren. Chris has been a loyal sponsor of the buns for many years now and we are really pleased he’s continued to support the club again this season. From all the players, management and committee we really do appreciate the support of local businesses, without it quite simply this club would not have survived all these years.

Trip down Memory Lane
On this Weekend 3 Years Ago Ynyshir Albions 2-1 Garw SBGC Real game of two halves. Very comfortable 1st half sailing into a two goal lead through a Jamie Williams thunder bolter and Jamie Rewbury penalty. 2nd half however we were pegged back to 2-1 and the Garw really could of taken something from the game after a brilliant 2nd half effort. 6 Years Ago Ynyshir Albions 3-1 St. Albans Routine victory on Ynyshir Oval which would start the run of 12 wins from the final 14 league fixtures to be crowned South Wales Alliance Two champions, Huw McGregor, Leon Anstee and Dan Lever the goal scorers.
8 Years Ago Grange Albion 3-4 Ynyshir Albions
Carol Fry
In a season of struggles and relegation we turned out our best performance of the season to edge a Grange Albion side away from home who would just miss out on promotion. Aaron Hughes, Kai Meades 2 and player manager Damian Roberts with the goals.

View From Our Fans
In the second instalment of ‘View from Our Fans’, we caught up with one of our most loyal supporters to get his perspective of the season so far and what his expectations are of the final few months…someone who’s there supporting the boys come rain or shine, home or away none other than Mr Dean Andrews aka Ned.
What do you think this group of players can achieve this season? They could achieve a lot if their discipline improves too many red cards which have been a disruption to the team and their push for promotion which I think they are more than capable of delivering.
Who’s been your stand out player this season? For me so far this season it’s Liam Eason, not only for his tally but he does work his tits off about the pitch even Carol Fry if he is the clubs top moaner ☺
A view From Our Fans
What have you most enjoyed about the buns this season? I enjoy every game as do my two sidekicks who turn out nearly every home and away fixture. Easy to say we enjoy it the most when the buns are winning but most of all its great to see a team that all get on and have each others backs whether they win, lose or draw. Did you expect the buns to be in this position after the re-structure of the leagues? Personally I thought the buns this season would consolidate a mid-table position after the restructure of the leagues but like many others the boys are proving everyone wrong, the fitness of the buns has paid huge dividends against some very strong opposition. We’ve linked up once again with local travel company Mainline Coaches who have offered a superb service on other away trips this season, as I am sure the fans that have made the journeys would agree.

Road to the Semi Finals
Given that this is the buns 30th year as a club, it’s the furthest they have ever progressed in this historic competition. We thought we would take a look back at the opening six rounds ahead of next weekends semi final fixture against a strong Baglan Dragons, who will no doubt like the buns be wanting to go all the way and lift the trophy after getting this far. The buns and their loyal supporters have travelled over 124 miles across South & MidWales, scoring 18 goals and only conceding an impressive 3 against.

The previous league meetings against Baglan Dragons a few seasons ago in the Alliance leagues were very tough and we expect nothing different in a weeks time.
Road to the Semi Finals Round One Ynyshir Albion's 7-2 Blaenrhondda It was the second meeting of the team sides in just under a week after facing each other in the qualifying round of the JD Welsh Cup, the buns ran out comfortable winners at the Oval. Goals – Cory, Liam x2, Anstee, Joey, Huw, Carn MOM – Cory Morgan Round Two Merthyr Saints 0 -2 Ynyshir Albion’s On a different day it would have been the Alliance Premier side progressing but it was a case of missed opportunities from the home side and a great defensive display that saw the buns progress to the next round. Goals – Scott, Anstee MOM – Mark Crutch
Round Three Cardiff Draconians 0 -3 Ynyshir Albion’s Carol Fry No love loss between this two sides over the years as they have both risen through the Alliance leagues, it was however the buns that dominated from the off, an all round superb team display from the opening minute saw the buns comfortably advance to the next round. Goals – Huw, Joey, Liam MOM – Liam Eason
Road to the Semi Finals Round Four Ynyshir Albion’s 2-0 Cwmaman Another tough fixture credit to the away side who battled for everything throughout the 90 minutes, it was the buns that took their chances to set up a mothering fifth round tie. Goals – Scott, Liam MOM – Mark Crutch
Round Five Caersws FC 1 -2 Ynyshir Albion’s As the gaffer would say a proper backs against the wall fixture, the buns should have been out of sight first half but failed to make their dominance pay. Two goals from the Eason brothers saw them take the lead only for the home side to pull one back and despite ‘Fergie’ time being played the buns held on, we even saw Jacob hit top speed down the flank which he gave an interview post match to the local radio station. Goals – Liam, Joey MOM – Jacob Issacs Carol Fry Round Six Ynyshir Albion’s 2 – 0 Monmouth Town Buns were made to work for this after going down to ten men mid-way through the first half, but none the less fully deserved their spot in the semi finals with a superb team effort and two goals from the scoring maestro Liam Eason. Goals – Liam x2 MOM – Leon Anstee
Club News Sponsorships Renewed Whilst the players and management continue to focus on match day preparation, the buns committee are working tirelessly behind the scenes to continue to push the club forward off the field. We are delighted to announce that the following businesses have decided to renew their sponsorship deals with the club.
Carol Fry
Our design team are working hard to make sure that both new & existing boards are ready to be advertised at the Oval, it’s a message that we’ve shared numerous times but as a club we are truly grateful for this support. Without it not just now but in years gone by we simply would not be able to operate as a club and we’d like to think those dark days are over and the buns are now making what was a dream to so many become a reality.
We are yet again as a club overwhelmed by the generosity shown by our supporters, members of the local community, local businesses and Sport Wales who have kindly donated to our Crowdfunding campaign. We will be in touch shortly with people who selected one of the reward packages and please stay tuned to our social media pages as we’ll share progress of the work being undertaken to improve the facilities we are able to offer on match days.
