Summertime in YoCo means juicy peaches, buttery sweet corn, cucumber salad and endless tomato sandwiches to be enjoyed all season long with produce from your favorite stand at the local farmers market. These markets are also a place to catch up with a friend over coffee, buy a one-of-a-kind gift, and spend time with the family at a community-friendly event. Though varying in vendors and each offering something a little different, the farmers markets of York County share the feeling of tradition, nostalgia, and pride for keeping it local.

Rain or shine, the Dillsburg Farmers Market is open each Saturday from May through December and recently kicked off its twelfth season. Cider, kombucha by the growler, goat’s milk soap, specialty sausage, and microgreens are just some of the products you can find at the market.

2021 marks the fourth season of the Glen Rock Train Stop Pop Up, a market with a mission to build a viable economic outlet for local growers and makers. “All of the vendors are top notch and we all really work together as a team to build up the market,” said Ali Collier, market manager and volunteer who (along with other vendors) brings the market to Glen Rock each Sunday. “I can’t express enough at how grateful I am that our vendors make the best for Glen Rock and southern York County.”

The Hanover Market House is located in Downtown Hanover and has been the original market in the area since 1815. The market house is home to over thirty vendors and makers and range from produce, sweets, and dairy to home goods, clothing, and gift items.

Celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, the Markets at Shrewsbury is a destination for tourists and locals to shop, snack, dine, and explore. The Markets at Shrewsbury is a traditional Amish farmers market and welcomes visitors year-round to enjoy the vendors and the market’s season events, like Peach Days in August and the Cruise Night car shows on the fourth Friday of each month.
