Extended Project Qualification

THE EXTENDED PROJECT QUALIFICATION (EPQ)

The EPQ is an opportunity to carry out a project in something that really interests you. Students are assessed on their finished outcome. The projects can be individual or group work, and can be an artefact, a dissertation, an investigation or a performance. The EPQ is highly regarded by universities and increasingly by employers, and carries the same UCAS (university) points as an AS Level.

I like this course as it allows me to talk about any topic of my choice and gives me the freedom I wouldn’t get on other courses. My College experience has been really good. I have enjoyed meeting new people, but I have also been blessed to have a really supportive tutor who pushes me to achieve my best. In the future I want to go to Manchester University to study Mental Health Nursing.

EPQ title: What factors have triggered the rise in mental health on a global scale?

I like the course because it allows me to have independence on whatever I write about and gives me UCAS points to help me in the future. I get on extremely well with the tutors I have had, my current tutor is always there when I need her and I receive support throughout the course which makes me enjoy College more. The UCAS points I get will help if I decide to go to university and the course helps with various skills, for example Harvard referencing, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
