AMELIA

Studied A Level Modern History, Law and Politics Amelia will now study Law at Durham University.

I chose this subject combination as I knew Law and Politics would work well together and I’d like to become a Constitutional Barrister in the future. I’ve really enjoyed learning about international politics and international law, and particularly the human rights and philosophy elements of the course. The support I received at College was amazing, and I also got some great work experience at the Magistrates Court.

I started work placement at VINCI Construction UK because of the amazing opportunity given to me to undertake work placement on a site. The main advantage of being on work placement is gaining industry experience with different types of professionals in the construction industry.

ISABEL

Studied Construction Design, Surveying & Planning T Level Isabel will now study a Degree Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering.

FERANMI

Studied Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Level 3 Feranmi will now study a Degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Loughborough University.

I chose engineering as a subject to study because it is what I want to do for a career in the future. I liked that the course had practical elements that relate to the industry and that we’re not solely assessed through exams. My overall experience at College has been very good. I really enjoyed my course, and all my tutors were very friendly and easy to talk to. I enjoyed the practical work we got to do, such as soldering and using the AutoCAD software, an essential skill in the engineering industry.

I started out doing business at GCSE, which went from a subject I had never done before, to one of my strongest. This resulted in me joining York College to study the Business Extended Diploma Level 3. I enjoyed this and decided to study an accounting apprenticeship, as this had been my favourite unit. I have particularly enjoyed the unit on bookkeeping transactions and knowing the theories behind it has helped me to do this more efficiently in my job.
