We are pleased to present a veritable smorgasbord of tricks and treats for all ages and persuasions, with over 300 shows and events across York in 18 days.

From Baby Loves Disco to Thinking Drinkers, Julia Donaldson’s Tiddler & Other Terrific Tales to Richard Herring’s Best Of, Henning Wehn to Jerry Sadowitz and American Circus to Round The Horne, we’ve got something for everyone all wrapped up in the incredible city that is York. Adding to our three venues on Parliament Street we also have new venue The Gillygate Shed at The Gillygate Pub, and a late night Festival Club.

A very warm welcome awaits so please join us for a weird wise and stupendous 18 days in the heart of the best city in the world. Every day has a selection of free events and activities so come early to sample the FeAstival of food, drink and enjoy!

Walk through the history of northern comedy. See the events, performers and iconic venues which have shaped a uniquely Northern style of comedy throughout the decades. e insightful and funny exhibition, fondly remembering the region’s greatest comedy contributors will be in York city centre for a limited time only as part of the 2016 Great Yorkshire Fringe. Trail begins at the Fountain on Parliament Street.

The Arts Barge Project Presents…

It’s back! This went down a storm last year, so we just had to do it all again! York’s Arts Barge Project and Pure Lindy team up to bring you a stylish evening of 1940’s Lindy Hopping fun to the excellent swing music of Rinkadon Jukeboy and His Blind Tiger Dance Band.

Much to her surprise at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe it was the third-best reviewed comedy show. Always one to flog a dead horse, she is writing another show about mental illness. 14+

Tickets can be bought on the door at The Gillygate Shed and The Black Swan Inn, subject to availability, from half an hour prior to the show only. Please note these will be cash only Box Offices. The White Rose Rotunda, The Turn Pot and The Tea Pot are located on the main festival site on Parliament Street,YO10 8SG. All Parliament Street venues are within a few minutes walk of each other. The Gillygate Shed is a 10 minute walk away at The Gillygate Pub, 48 Gillygate,York,YO31 7EQ. All venues have full disabled access. Our Affiliate Venue The Black Swan Inn is a 6 minute walk away at 23 Peasholme Green,York YO1 7PR. Please note our Affiliated Venue The Black Swan Inn has limited disabled access to upstairs performance area. Please check your tickets for the correct venue for the event you have booked for.

Your Print at Home option can be found in your confirmation email by clicking the link at the top of the email. This opens a printable PDF. Should your print at home option not work please ensure that you bring some valid ID and your reference number and you will be able to collect your tickets from BOB The Box Office Bus on Parliament Street. PLEASE NOTE: Once purchased, to gain entry to the event you must present your ticket plus ID matching the name on the booking at the point of entry. If someone else will be attending on your behalf please contact the Box Office.

Booking Fees

All tickets purchased over the phone or through the website are subject to a booking fee. There is no charge for booking in person at any Box Office location. Booking Fees £1 per ticket under £10 £1.50 per ticket £10 and over There are no additional transaction charges. We welcome donations to support the ongoing development of The Great Yorkshire Fringe. An option to donate is available when booking online, or please enquire at the Box Office.
