A time and place for the heart and soul... Every magic moment at King Pacific Lodge is a newfound freedom. At this floating wilderness lodge on Princess Royal Island, British Columbia, the only deadlines are the unused rods and reels. Shoelessness is encouraged. And time, of course, is utterly irrelevant. However feel free to consult the position of the sun. Better yet, let us ask, “What time would you like it to be?” Feel alive strolling through the rainforest or fly-fishing here in some of North America’s richest fishing habitats. Fly into untouched terrain or watch whales on a wildlife-viewing trip. By all means, engage in as much or as little adventure as you like or pamper yourself at the spa for we welcome all levels of fitness and skill, placing emphasis on comfort and worldclass service.

Activities & Services Fly-out Fly-Fishing / Heli-Ventures: World-class guided fly-fishing awaits the angler on untouched rivers where Pacific salmon and wild cutthroat trout abound. Daily helicopter excursions whisk you away to fish on remote streams and river estuaries. For a more varied program, the Heli-Ventures package offers daily fly-out trips for a combination of fly-fishing, heli-hiking and heli-kayaking. Saltwater Fishing: Saltwater trolling for Chinook, Coho, Chum and Pink salmon is available from mid-May through mid-September. Enjoy saltwater fly-fishing for Coho and Pink Salmon from mid-July through August. The waters of King Pacific Lodge also teem with halibut, rockfish, lingcod and yellow eye. Kermode Bear Viewing: Join a native guide on a quest for the Kermode or “spirit bear”. Found only on Princess Royal Island and neighbouring islands, this rare all-white black bear is one of Canada’s ecological treasures. Guests may see day beds, rub trees or even the bears themselves. Limited availability. Guided Cruising / Whale Watching: Venture out for a world-class wildlife viewing in the lodge’s cruiser to see Stellar sea lions, humpback and Orca (killer) whales, porpoises, seals and bald eagles. In September see whales bubble feed just minutes from the lodge. Listen in on the underwater conversations of the whales on the hydrophone. Cultural Program: Learn about the ancient culture of the First Nations people in the area. Visit a traditional longhouse in a remote fjord, a seasonal fishing camp, and the First Nations community of Hartley Bay with its new cultural center. Guided Hiking: On a short trek or a full-day hike, learn about indigenous plants and animals from knowledgeable guides as you explore thousand-year-old hemlocks, white sandy beaches and forested streams. Venture further a field for the full-day heli-hiking program. Guided Kayaking: Novice and expert paddlers delight in glimpsing marine life or exploring ancient shipwrecks. Kayak for an afternoon into neighboring Cameron Cove or explore the fjords and inlets on a full-day kayaking and hiking expedition by helicopter. Spa Services: Full spa services are available in our two therapy rooms. Our full-time massage therapists offer a range of treatments from hot stone treatments to deep tissue massage. Soothe away aching muscles after the day’s activities. The health club with its sauna, large hot tub, two therapy rooms and steam room awaits guests at the end of the day. Complimentary: Use of row boats and canoes Beach picnic Turndown service Games room Spa and fitness facilities Multimedia computer Extensive library ●
