This is

ED...

and this is

Bunny.

Ed is sort of

SENSIBLE

and Bunny’s kind of

FUNNY...

And this is what happened when they earned some pocket money. But we don’t have pockets! Bunny said to Ed. Good point,

Ed replied. Let’s just call it money instead!

It all started last Monday afternoon, when Ed earned fifty pence for tidying his room.

Bunny was also busy in the garden helping his mum. Bunny just LOVED digging, so he got paid for having FUN!

Er, you’re supposed to use a spade!

The friends did lots of odd jobs all week

That even though Bunny made a bit of a mess

and their parents all agreed

they were both very helpful indeed!

On Saturday morning they counted their wages, they’d each made

£2.34.

We’ve worked really hard and earned our own money.

It’s a very nice feeling for sure.

Bunny wanted to splash all his cash...

Come on Ed, we’ve got

SWEETS to buy!

But Ed put his coins in his

MONEY TREE and Bunny just had to know why.

E! L G N I J I keep my money safe in here,

said Ed.

It’s a squirrelly thing to do. I’m saving up for something special. and it’s good fun to shake it too!

Bunny was eager to get to the shop so they headed out along the street. Saving up’s a bit boring,

laughed Bunny.

I’d rather spend my money on treats.

At last they arrived at Madame Badger’s, it was Bunny’s favourite store...

Bunny spent all his money

YUM!

Ed on the other hand didn’t go nuts, he just bought

acorns in chocolate shells.

But on the way home Bunny’s tummy felt wobbly, he’d eaten all his sweets way too fast...

Oh silly me, he moaned to his pal. I wish I’d have made my coins last.

That afternoon Bunny went straight to bed. He was feeling sorry for himself. He’d gained a rather achey tummy and lost all his hard-earned wealth.

But who is that knocking at the door? It’s Bunny’s bestest friend... I just popped over with a little surprise and to see if you’re on the mend.

I saved up for my special something, said Ed. It’s a little gift from me. To help you squirrel your coins away...

It’s your very own

MONEY TREE!
