Amarillo Rock Climbing House, or A.R.C.H., is located at 500 S. Fannin in Amarillo. The facilities main function is to encourage the sport of climbing in the Amarillo area by teaching people how to climb safely and providing a facility for the climbing veteran. All necessary equipment is available to rent.
Built in 1970, the Virgil Henson Activities Center has recently undergone renovations. With membership, you gain access to the center’s many features: Recreational Pool — Bring the kids for a day at the recreation pool equipped with a water slide, lazy river and vortex pool. Climbing Tower — Climbers can give the 40 foot tall climbing tower fashioned after the Light House structure in Palo Duro Canyon a try. The towerhas paths for amateurs and experts, so everyone with an adventurous spirit can give it a try.
