Hi & welcome to our June Issue As I sit here writing out this note I am truly amazed at how fast this year is going. June already - it just seems crazy! This last month has just whizzed by in a blur of kids activities and sport, training nights, game days, kinder activities, play dates and parties. I even managed to completely muck up a party date and do a “no show” thinking it was the next day (tell me I’m not the only one to ever do this?!) It’s true what they say that kids have a better social life than us - I can’t keep up sometimes! June also brings the colder weather and the start of the sniffles, coughs and colds. With that in mind we have an article “An Orange A Day Keeps Colds Away’ with some interesting information about the benefits of citrus! Another interesting read is “The Benefits of LEGO” As Ollie gets older our big tub of mixed LEGO has made a resurgence and has taken up the middle of the lounge room floor. Here it gets played with, packed up, tipped out and many amazing creations are built along with some fantastic stories and explanations of what it all is. Even Louie (our badly behaved dog) doesn’t like to miss out with chewed up pieces being regularly found! I really hope you enjoy this months issue. Out and About
WARRAWEE PARK The Rameo BUNDOORA This great little playground located in the back streets of Bundoora always keeps my kids happily playing for a while. It’s set at the bottom of an oval with plenty of open space for a game of tiggy or a kick of the footy. The space is made up of 2 main structures that are suited to younger and older children. For the younger ones there’s a small slide, wobbly bridge, fireman pole and climbing frames connecting down to a red train frame. For the older kids there is a large slide, monkey bars, a chain bridge, climbing ladder and another fireman pole. Within the area there is also a set of swings, a four person

pommel bouncer, see-saw and an animal rocker. There is also a half basketball court for those that love the game , so remember it pack a ball with you unless you’re like us and there always seems to be one in the car! Completing the area are wooden seats, a drinking tap, BBQ and also public toilets. Probably the only real negative is the play area isn’t protected with a shade cover however if you were there on a hot day there are a few large gum trees that could offer some shelter. If you are in the area it is definitely worth stopping by. I hope you enjoy some fun there like we do!!
