Hi & welcome to our May Issue Term 1 school holidays are done and dusted and just like that we’re back into the routine of school and kinder! With that comes the start of the footy season and living in a house with 4 boys (hubby included!) equals loads of footy talk - winning, losing, umpires, ladders - the list could keep growing! Being so outnumbered I have to admit “if you can't beat them - join them” So goes Blues!! May is also the month we celebrate all of us amazing Mums! Yes - it is the hardest job I have ever done; long hours, playing referee & bouncer multiple times a day, sometimes terrible working conditions, days without a break and running on coffee after very limited sleep... But like all of us I wouldn’t change it (ok maybe some more sleep & a little less noise sometimes would be good!) For me the best parts are the giggles from our boys playing together, the chats in bed when they are drifting off to sleep, the looks on their faces when they master a new skill and the out of the blue “I love you Mum”. It’s these times that make it all so worth it! Writing this page got me reminiscing about when they were all so small. One of my most favourite memories about being a mum is when the older boys come to the hospital to meet Ollie for the first time. I have it reordered and the sound of the excitement in their voices when they burst into the room melts my heart every time I watch it. We have a range of articles in this months issue, from caring for yourself to caring for your pets and also of course articles relating to your child. As always I hope you enjoy this months issue!! To all the Mums - I wish you a fabulously Happy Mothers Day - filled with love, laughter and something sweet (and maybe some extra sleep!)

Out and About
STREETON VIEWS RESERVE Arthur Streeton Drive YALLAMBIE This playground and reserve can be found at the front of the Streeton Views Estate in Yallambie. Although the park is not overly big the are is fantastic. I think kids out in the open air playing in nature is how it should be. The playspace is made up of 1 main structure with a wavey slide, mesh climbing walls, sliding flying fox, landings and ladder plus a little shop front. There is also a couple of swings, a rocking platypus and a spinner to enjoy. A large rotunda sits between the playground and the large pond, perfect for a rest area. The path leads you around the water and along our travels

we got to see an array of different birds. First stop was the ducks in the pond that were curious to see if we had any food. We then spied the local cockatoos and they also seemed interested in watching us from above the trees and in theirs flocks on the ground. Upon our return to the playground we got to see a group of colourful rosellas drinking from the water bowl under the drinking fountain. The equipment is more suited to kinder kids and above but don't let that stop you because our visit turned out to be more about the surrounds than it was the equipment.
