Hi & welcome to our February Issue!! Wishing you a happy new year and a happy new decade!! 2020 feels like it should be the start of amazing things for everyone - a fresh start and new beginnings. Although with the fires and devastation that our beautiful country has endured over the last few months it feels like someone didn’t get the memo. I hope that for anyone with family or friends that have been affected they are receiving the help they need. I started the summer break thinking of all the fun we will have together. mid way through, after umpiring multiple arguments, I began counting down the days until school starts before wishing I had more time in the final week to get back into a routine. What a 6 week roller coaster! This year we have our oldest starting high school which brings with it a whole new set of everything - uniform, books, schedule and newsletters. Seeing him in his new uniform brings up so many emotions. For all those parents that are just starting the kinder or school journey - enjoy because it truly does go by so quickly! Late last year I decided the time was right to make some changes and selling this business is part of that. It’s been an amazing time of learning and growth for both me and the business. Maybe you’re at a stage in your life where you want to start something new that can work around your family as I did 5 years ago. Out and About
FELL RESERVE Lorimer Street GREENSBOROUGH Fell Reserve is one of the latest playgrounds in Banyule to be upgraded by the Banyule Council and what a fantastic job they have done! Set back from busy Grimshaw Street (opposite the Police Station) it’s easy to access from Lorimer Street as you enter from a rear laneway that opens up to this fun and spacious area. It feels a little like a secret hidden garden! The equipment is centred in the space and consists of two structures joined by a set of monkey bars. The higher structure, suited to the more adventurous, has an enclosed tube slide and a few different climbing options including a rock wall & rope wall plus a ladder.

The second smaller construction has a set of stairs and rope ladder that leads up to a smaller open wave slide plus a shopping window underneath. The space is completed with a set of swings, a nest swing, police car rocker, a seesaw swing rocker. stand up spinner and half court with both a basketball and netball ring, sure to please if your children love a little time at practising their skills! You could pack a picnic and spend a lovely afternoon playing and looking out for the colourful lorikeets or riding a scooter or bike around the path surrounding the playground. With public toilets, a drinking fountain & tables and seats you are all set. Be sure to add this one to your list to check out!

Discovering Sports for our Younger Ones! Ready Steady Go Kids is a multi-sport program running 7 days a week in your local area. Designed by a paediatric physiotherapist and occupational therapist, the classes are structured to suit 4 different age groups between the ages of 18 months to 6 years old. The program teaches 10 different sports over 2 terms which helps the children develop a broad range of skills and build a platform of sporting knowledge. This also ensures the children remain interested and engaged throughout the entire program. The program not only teaches the children sporting skills but also a range of additional age appropriate skills including exploration, basic counting and colour concepts. Plus it encourages teamwork and sportsmanship, and helps to build social skills, listening skills and concentration. The classes are designed to focus on a specific gross motor hand-eye/foot-eye and/or balance activity to complement the sport component and our program structure is repeated each week so the participants become familiar and comfortable with the routine.
