Manningham Hello and welcome to February 2016 Issue. Hope you all had a great start to the year so far while enjoying the wonderful warm weather we are having. Are we all ready to start school or kinder? I can tell you that I am very excited about sending my son off to grade 3 this year, I really look forward to the start of a new school year and watching my son grow and change as the years go by. It is one of the most amazing and rewarding feelings in the world. This month we have so many great Back to School articles and I have enjoyed reading all of them while trying out some of the tips that are suggested such as packing fun, healthy and tasty lunch boxes, easing your child back to school or if your child is starting a new school and another great article is explaining the Montessori Method. Some fun local activities you can enjoy during February are Chinese New Year which is celebrated at MC2 ( Manningham City Council ) on Sunday 07 February 2016, 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm. Come and celebrate Chinese New Year with a vibrant, family friendly celebration of Chinese arts and culture. This is a Free Event no bookings necessary. You can also enjoy Summer Sounds with Nicky Bomba Saturday 13 February, 11.00 am – 3.00 pm Join them at MC2 for a Summer day of music building and circus play. BYO voice, instruments and percussion (or use their gear) to create something special with Nicky and the band. You may also want to listen to Summer Sounds: All Day Fritz Saturday on 27 February, 6.00 pm – 9.00 pm also at MC2 Cruise into the Summer night with rocky, jazzy, swingy sounds and circus arts. Join Melbourne musical legends All Day Fritz for a harmonious musical free-for-all. This is a Free Event no bookings necessary. Summer is in full swing now so don't forget to book your kids swimming classes for Term 1 at Westerfolds Sports Centre. Vacancies fill fast so be quick to avoid disappointment. Dancing is a wonderful activity for your children it can be very exciting and a great way for them to keep fit. Here are a few local dance schools to consider.
