Hello everyone and welcome to February 2015 and our 'Back to School Issue. I hope you all had a great Christmas break and a wonderful start to the New Year. Summer will soon be in full swing so don't forget to book your kids swimming classes for Term 1 at Westerfolds Sports Centre. Vacancies fill fast so be quick or you will miss out. February is also a great month to get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful weather especially on the weekends. At this time of the year I will be thinking of all the parents who will be sending their children off to Kinder, Prep and High School for the very first time. I imagine you will have many mixed emotions, a combination of nerves and excitement. My 7yr old son starts Grade 2 this year and how fast does time fly.
When I think of February one of the first things that comes to my mind is Valentine's Day. If you are a romantic at heart like I am, then I am sure you will look forward to something special on this day. I especially love going out for dinner and just enjoying one on one time with my husband. There are so many local venues where you can celebrate Valentine's Day. Some suggestions are Templestowe Hotel, The Doncaster, Warrandyte cafĂŠ, Terra Mia Pizza, The Manningham, The Grand Hotel, Tunstall Square. All venues are family friendly in case you need to take your kids along.

Originally built for Max von Schramm, a German immigrant, for use as a house and a Lutheran school around 1875, and opened as a historical centre in 1976. Schramms Cottage contains exhibits depicting the area's German heritage as well as orchard displays. It is open Sundays and public holidays, from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm.
