I know we are all in for a busy couple of weeks, but don’t forget to take some time out to have for a quiet coffee and read some of this months interesting articles. There is a fantastic article Teaching kids about money, on page 12. On page 8, What our children can teach us? Is an interesting read that made me stop and think. Then on page 20 ‘A story of the Fallen’ is an amazing piece of writing by a grade 5 student. ‘Kids in the Kitchen’ has Ethan as this months guest chef cooking up a batch of yummy ANZAC biscuits, on page 27. ‘Hanging with Hannah’ can be found on page 26, with Hannah out and about visiting Aurora Adventure Playground in Wollert. (This would be a great park to visit on a sunny Autumn day over the School Holidays.) If you are looking for some fun activities to keep your children busy these School Holidays, have a look through the What’s On section, page 22. This years Commemorative ANZAC Services can be found on page 25. This month Hannah took her big brothers to visit the Aurora Adventure Park in Wollert. The park was very exci ng and modern. Hannah loved running around and climbing on and over dierent things. (Bring your imagina on - Hannah turned poles into a slide!) There is a built in trampoline, 2 climbing nets, 2 rock climbing walls, 2 see-saws and lots of mega phones - for talking to your buddies. Plus some really cool rings to just hang around on! Other facili es includes a sheltered area, a BBQ, 2 tables and chairs, 4 park benches, a rubbish bin and a drinking tap, bike rack and USB points for charging phones. However, there are no toilets. Hannah’s p of the month - Some mes it is fun going to the park with your big brothers!

S T I U C S I B C A ANZ Ingredients 2 cups of rolled oats 2 cups of flour 2 cups of coconut 1½ cups of sugar 250g bu er 4 tbsp golden syrup 1tsp baking soda 2tblsp boiling water
Method Step 1 - Turn oven to 160°C. Lightly grease oven trays. Step 2 - Place oats, flour, coconut and sugar in a mixing bowl. Step 3 - Melt bu er and golden syrup in saucepan. Take off heat. Step 4 - Mix baking saod and boiling water in a cup. Add to melted bu er mixture in the pan. Quickly add to big mixing bowl. Mix well. Step 5 - Roll tablespoonfuls of the mixture into balls. Place on trays 5cm apart. Press lightly with a fork. Step 6 - Bake for 20 minutes.
