Edi t orsLetter EditorsLetter Hello and welcome to the July Your Child in Whittlesea Magazine, Can you believe it, School Holidays are back again? In this months magazine you will find some great ideas to keep the kids busy. What’s on can be found on page 22, with some great activities at your local library. Hannah was out again this month visiting a local park in Whittlesea - remember if it’s not raining the park is a great place for adventure and hours of outdoor play. In Kids Corner this month, pages 26 & 27, you will find a rainy day colouring in and instructions on how to make your own birdseed cookies - these can be placed in the garden to feed the native birds. The Kids in Kitchen Mini Chef this month is Tahnee - she has created some gorgeous Christmas in July - Reindeer Chocolate Tartlets. They must have been yummy as they did not last long! The recipe can be found on page 11. When the kids are busy and you find five minutes to snuggle up with a hot cuppa, there is some great reading in this months magazine. There is an article on page 14 Fitting in fitness with kids. Page 24 explores, Creative play is the only way and Simple Ways to Support Your Baby’s Brain Development can be found on page 20. I hope you enjoy reading the July edition, until next month,

Rachel

h a n n a H h t i w g Hangin Willow Park Willow Court,Whittlesea

Hannah ventured to Whi lesea this month to visit the new Willow Park Playground. The playground is bright and mul -age friendly, it has lots of climbing and sliding fun. At the park you will find 2 double slides for smaller children, and 1 winding slide for the more adventurous. There is a rock climbing wall, cargo net, ladder and climbing ropes to get you up on to a cube - which you can climb over the top and then climb down another way. You will also find a basket swing and 2 swings in a swing set. There is a rope to help pull you up an incline and a frog rocker. This is a local playground and does not offer any extras. For mums and dads watching there are some nicely placed rocks around that you could sit on. There is room for running games and Hannah and her brothers had a great me. Hannah’s p of the month - Don’t forget your coat in winter, so if it does start raining you can s ll play!
