Edi EdittorsLetter orsLetter Welcome to the October magazine, The school holidays are almost over and we will be into 4th term, the busiest term of the school year. It won’t be long now and we will be thinking about Christmas. This year is just flying by ...! We have some really interesting articles in this months magazine so find yourself a quiet 10 minutes, with a cup coffee in hand, put your feet up and enjoy. A must read for all parents is Thunderstorm Asthma on page 12. There is an informative article on page 24 relating to the importance of making a Will and I really enjoyed reading The Whittlesea Show Editorial on page 8. Your Child in Whittlesea this month is running another amazing competition, you can win a 2 day Family Pass to the Whittlesea Show, see page 13 for more information on how to enter. Kids Corner on page 26 has a Halloween colouring in, while this month’s mini chef is Riley and he has made Spider Cookies on page 27. Hannah headed out to Peppercorn Park, Epping this month, to enjoy the Spring sunshine. Hanging with Hannah can be found on page 10. If you know of any community events coming up that could be featured in What’s On, please email me to let us know - info@yourchildinwhittlesea.com.au I hope you enjoy reading the October edition, until next month,

Rachel

FARM & GARDEN

We're looking forward to another great year in Farm & Garden. There have been a few small changes to the schedule this year. In the open section we have added a themed class “Poppy flower made from an arrangement of garden produce”. The quality of the produce was noted on several occasions during judging last year and we're hoping for another fantastic display of fresh produce this year. As always, we will be offering a Children's Activity in the Farm & Garden Pavilion across the Show weekend, so make sure you come down for a visit. We would like to thank our sponsors for their continued support, especially major sponsor Cross-Cut Concrete Sawing and

Drilling. As the weather warms up, head out and tend to the garden and most of all enjoy it. See you at the Show. BOER GOATS Boer Goats Australia presents its inaugural show at the Whittlesea 2018 Show, exhibiting animals from all aspects of the industry. On display will be stud and commercial Boer goats all competing for ribbons and prizes along with junior classes. There will be information stands, experienced breeders to help out new breeders with questions or preparing goats for showing and even a “Kids Corner” with an opportunity to get hands on with some goats. Come down and see why more and more people are getting into the goat industry as either a primary venture or to complement their existing enterprise. Show Office – 9716 2835
