The Moving Memory Company will be a grand 5 years old in October, and we’re holding a party in The Roundabout to celebrate this coming of age. There will be music, dancing, and bubbly, with the company revisiting some of our old favourites that have moved audiences to laughter, tears and the need to buy a new pair of Marigolds. Your ticket price includes a glass of bubbles, Moving Memory friend membership, and the knowledge that you will have kickstarted our fundraising toward the making of our new show, and an invite to the preview. Please do join us! Thursday 8 October 8pm Running Time: 2 hours 30 minutes Tickets: £5

Dan Thompson spent a year as artist in residence on London Road in Stoke, where every week 175,000 pieces of pottery are made and 15,000 buns are baked in a steam-powered bakehouse. Dan’s discovered lost canals, lost railways, and a million lost golf balls, and found connections to Margate, Charles Darwin, the man who designed the most reproduced work of art ever, and Jonah.

Written & Performed by Andy Smith A story from Preston. About Preston. A story that will make you stop and think about where you, and we, are in the world. Award winning theatre maker Andy Smith presents this newly commissioned piece of theatre, telling a tale of a man from this city, and all that has happened here, there, and everywhere in this last 80 years. Funded by Arts Council England and Esmée Fairbairn Charitable Trust via the New Theatre in Your Neighbourhood project. Supported by Live at LICA and the Nightingale, Brighton.

This developing show is based on his book, It’s All About The Road, a history of Stoke from the Ice Age to thirty years from now, told through stories from one road. An Appetite commission supported by Second-Look Stoke. Saturday 10 October 10pm Running Time: 55 minutes + post show Q & A Age recommendation: All Tickets: Festival rates

“I could fly to New York and back every day for seven years and still not leave a carbon footprint as big as if I have a child. Ten thousand tonnes of CO2. That’s the weight of the Eiffel Tower. I’d be giving birth to the Eiffel Tower.”

This is part of the Opera for All programme and will be a relaxed performance with activities for younger audience members happening throughout and featuring live local school performances before the film and during the interval. Please bring a picnic with you, for this ‘once in a lifetime’ event. Supported by the Arts Council, England, Magna Vitae and Awards for All.

Paines Plough presents the world premiere of a gripping thriller from last year’s Fringe First Award winner Alexandra Wood. A man turns up at Lucy’s door claiming to be the brother she hasn’t seen in 10 years. But why has he come? Is it really him? And what happens when there’s another knock at the door? Forced to confront the messy inner workings of sibling love with its petty resentments, casual cruelty, profound betrayals and implicit understanding, can the bond between brother and sister be rebuilt? An intriguing tale of loss, renewal and knowing who to trust.
