Thomas Hoepker’s “Wanderlust” Exhibition
LEICA GALLERY LONDON | UNTIL 12TH FEBRUARYLeica Gallery London’s latest showcase features 20 of Thomas Hoepker’s photographs, with a particular focus on his colour documentary stills. With the works spanning decades, beginning in the 1960s and ending in 2013, the exhibition also ties in with one of Hoepker’s classic images, Advertisement and passengers on bus. New York City 1963 being chosen as the Leica Picture of the Year 2022. This work is one of a larger portfolio of ‘Leica Legends’ prints which will be available exclusively through the global Leica Galleries as a limited-edition collector’s print.
Thomas Hoepker (b.1936 Germany) studied art history and archaeology before working for various German publications and then joining the staff of the prestigious Stern magazine as a photo-reporter in 1964. In 1966, whilst on assignment for German publication Kristall, he produced his seminal and seminal series “The Greatest”, about Muhammad Ali. Magnum began to distribute Thomas Hoepker’s photographs in 1964 and from the 1970s he became involved in documentary film making, first in Germany and then in New York whilst working as a correspondent for Stern magazine. SIX NATIONS
Breitling continues their partnership with the major rugby event and launches a limited edition series of watches featuring each of the nation’s unions and federations.
Breitling has just launched a very limited-edition watch series and a new squad, dedicated to the unions and federations that make up Six Nations Rugby: England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, France, and Italy.
With the Guinness Six Nations kicking off on February 4, marking Breitling’s second season as the Official Timing Partner to Six Nations Rugby, the dynamic new series - ‘The Chronomat Six Nations’ - features a unique timepiece for each national team, limited to 150 pieces per watch.
“As Breitling’s all-purpose, no-limits sports watch, the Chronomat Six Nations is the ideal match for the fast and fearless world of rugby,” says Breitling CEO Georges Kern.
The stainless-steel watches have all the signature Chronomat characteristics: the raised rider tabs at the 15-minute marks, the easy-grip onion crown, the triple-register dial with integrated date at 6 o’clock and the classic rouleaux bracelet – all powered by Breitling’s exceptional Manufacture Caliber 01. Each model sets itself apart by a dial that expresses the individual union’s colors, with its logo positioned in the subdial at 9 o’clock as well as on the sapphire crystal caseback.
Providing the personality and inspiration behind this collection is the new Breitling Rugby Squad, a crew of seven notable players from each of the Six Nations Rugby unions and federations, who will represent the Chronomat in their home countries.
Representing Wales, top scorer George North; from Ireland, three-time champion Conor Murray; from England, powerhouse prop Kyle Sinckler; from Italy, star fly-half Paolo Garbisi, who made his test debut in 2020; from France, Gaël Fickou, a 2022 Grand Slam winner; from Scotland, Hamish Watson, the 2021 Player of the Championship; and also from Scotland, Stuart Hogg, twice named the Championship’s top performer.
The high-performance action of Six Nations Rugby competitions, combined with its values of sportsmanship and inclusivity, are what drew Breitling to the partnership. The two also share a common heritage: the watch brand was founded in 1884, while the Championship can trace its roots back a year earlier, to 1883.
The Chronomat was originally designed as the official watch of the Frecce Tricolori, the famed Italian aerobatics squadron and has since become Breitling’s most multifaceted sports watch, associated with athletes who push the limits of human endurance in the air, on land, and at sea.
Not only popular amongst aviators, the Chronomat’s tachymeter attracted the interest of Formula 1 teams in the 1980s and 1990s. Its reversible rider tabs, which allow for “count up” or “count down” functions, also made it ideal for diving and yachting regattas.
The Chronomat Six Nations contains the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, a COSC-certified chronometer that delivers an impressive power reserve of about 70 hours and carries a five-year warranty. The 42-mm case and rouleaux bracelet are stainless steel. The hands are coated with luminescent Super-LumiNova®, and like all Chronomat models, it is water-resistant to 200 meters. Each caseback is specially engraved with the name of the union, “Six Nations”, and the “One of 150” limitation.
The Chronomat Six Nations is available in the UK and select EU countries.
Breitling’s role as Official Timing Partner to Six Nations Rugby includes the Guinness Six Nations Championship, the TikTok Women’s Six Nations, the Autumn Nations Series, and the Rugby World Cup 2023 warm-up matches.

EXCALIBUR BLACKLIGHT MONOBALANCIER
A new era of blazing aesthetics begins at Roger Dubuis, as the next generation of the Excalibur Blacklight Monobalancier (MB) arrives. One of the brightest expressions of the Maison to date, the timepiece is a contemporary work of art that is just as vibrant by day as it is under UV light. Welcome to the dazzling world of Roger Dubuis, where the fields of possibility are reimagined to offer the most exciting way to experience Hyper Horology™
Forever pushing boundaries, the Maison’s hyper-skilled watchmakers have been developing and mastering the intricate art of luminescence for years.
Reflecting an unmatched level of craftmanship, the metal micro-beams of the calibre are tri-dimensional for the first time, taking the shape of Roger Dubuis’ signature star. Bright yellow and orange by day, they reveal their hidden luminescence and glow neon under UV light. But the watchmakers’ mastery of luminescence goes further. Keeping the highlight on the brilliance of the micro-beams, a hyper-precious and vividly fluorescent diamond was chosen for the heart of the signature star, channeling the eye to admire the open work of the piece while under UV light. To ensure the spotlight remains on the micro-beams, 60 nonfluorescent diamonds were also specifically selected to adorn the bezel. Motivated by extreme passion, the finished look proves their absolute control over where the fluorescence shows up.
The Maison unveils an iconic capsule collection that is blazing with on-trend colours. Embodying a commitment to nonconformity and a willingness to explore new creative possibilities, Roger Dubuis was inspired to move beyond its obsession with light and inject playful colours into this next generation of Excalibur Blacklight MB.
Among this capsule collection is a timepiece dressed in bright yellow enhanced by vibrant orange touches. These bring a harmonious balance to the design, breaking up the single shade effect and creating a camaieu. Such lively shades also create its distinctive aesthetic, letting the details of the expressive calibre reveal themselves layer by layer, like an intricate work of art that is appreciated the more it is looked at. Bold, daring and iconic, this 42mm white gold timepiece truly dazzles - from its bright yellow rubber and calf-leather strap, to its micro-beams, hour and minute markers, and its signature star. Should you want to, as a
rogerdubuis.com
lucky owner, you can even opt to change the strap in just a few clicks to express a new style of your choice as it is equipped with a hyper-versatile and quick release system. Hyper-contemporary and Hyper-exciting, the latest edition of the Excalibur Blacklight MB brings Hyper Horology™ to bright new heights of expressivity.
Defining the fine balance between aesthetics and performance, the timepiece is equipped with the RD720SQ calibre, which has an increased power reserve of 72 hours. The micro-rotor and balance wheel are also optimised to minimise vibrations, improve stability, and make it less sensitive to shocks. To achieve even better efficiency and energy transmission, the shape of the escapement
wheel is improved, paired with diamond-coated silicon palletstones, and completed with a new lube. The masterpiece is handfinished with meticulous care and rewarded with the Poinçon de Genève, one of the most demanding certifications in fine watchmaking.
Limited to just 28 pieces, the Excalibur Blacklight MB is the perfect blend of colour, luminescence, and advanced mechanics, reaching new heights of expressivity. By sharing its passion for light and luminescence, Roger Dubuis highlights a new facet of Hyper Horology™, one that continues to shape the future of fine watchmaking in the most colourful way possible.
PANERAI X BRABUS
With state-of-the-art tech and sophisticated, military-inspired styling, the Submersible S Brabus Verde Militare Edition takes the next step in a collaboration that brings together horology and high- performance day boating.
Last year, Panerai, a legacy watch brand that merges Swiss watchmaking finesse and artful Italian design, and Brabus, a world renowned luxury mobility brand out of the heart of Germany’s Ruhr region, forged a partnership rooted in their shared ambition to redefine the limits of technology, style and performance in their respective spheres.
United by their commitment to crafting instruments for dynamic, iconoclastic explorers and a profound reverence for the sea, the two brands have created a series of watches designed to merge the best of each - forming a specific identity of their own.
Devised from the outset to evolve in response to new offerings from the Panerai and Brabus portfolios, the collaboration’s latest watch is a companion to a new entry in the Brabus Marine Shadow series of luxury powerboats, characterised by a stealth green hue.
The Panerai Submersible S Brabus Verde Militare Edition shares a range of key features introduced by its predecessors, but conquers a league of its own through the use of new materials and a completely reimagined signature design.
Available in a limited edition of 200 pieces, the Submersible S Brabus Verde Militare Edition features a 47mm case composed of Carbotech, a composite material first used in watchmaking by Panerai.
Lighter than steel or titanium and resistant to corrosion, Carbotech is strong and adaptable, making it an easy-to-wear choice for modern heroes facing harsh conditions.
Carefully placed accents in military green on the hands, rehaut and rubberised crown also distinguish this reference, while the presence of the Brabus logo on the movement lever and loop affirms the collaborative character of the watch.
Powered by a movement established on the foundation of the P.4000 caliber, the first automatic movement with an offcentre micro-rotor developed and by the Panerai Manufacture at Neuchâtel. Its descendent, Caliber P. 4001/S, is an automatic, skeletonised movement featuring a three- day power reserve whose indicator appears on the reverse of the case. Furthermore, cuttingedge technology permits utmost visibility of the skeletonised movement, unobstructed by the date disc, which is discernible only through the window at 3 o’clock, thanks to the patented polarised date display.
The 47mm watch features a unidirectional rotating bezel to calculate immersion time and GMT function, while the onepiece, off-centre oscillating weight permits bi-directional winding, whereby the two spring barrels efficiently wind the watch during wear.
With its skeletonised structure - the bridges and plates have been winnowed to their barest elements to expose the workings of the movement - the watch is notably lightweight. In addition, the stop balance wheel and seconds reset devices enable the time to synchronise with a reference time signal.
Water-resistant to 30 bar (~300 meters), the Panerai Submersible S Brabus Verde Militare Edition features two straps, 31 jewels, a black bi-material version composed of calf leather melded with a rubber base and a second in military green rubber. Also included is a screwdriver for removing the buckle.

The Pincushion
In her ateliers on rue Cambon, Gabrielle Chanel always kept two tools to hand: a pair of scissors suspended from a ribbon which she wore round her neck as a sautoir; and on her wrist the indispensable tool of any seamstress, a pincushion.
In 2023, Arnaud Chastaingt, Director of the Chanel Watchmaking Creation Studio, has borrowed this tool to create the magnificent Mademoiselle Privé Pique-Aiguilles watch.
“I like the image of this functional piece of jewellery that adorns the wrists of seamstresses.” He notes.
This essential dressmaking accoutrement generally takes the form of a metal cuff topped with a generously sized dome-shaped cushion. On a technical level, it enables dressmakers to keep and organise their pins and needles where they can see them, to help them as they work.
Chastaingt continues, “I am fascinated by the design of objects whose architecture is the product of a practical need. In terms of style, the pincushion commands authority on the wrist, with presence and impact. Its outsize format does not detract from its
comfort in any way, and it adapts to all wrists. I love the random design of needles on the surface of the cushion. Organised or disorganised, the pinheads pricked into the fabric dome create a decorative effect that evolves with the progress of the seamstress’s work. I have adopted the spirit of this tool to create a watch. While its architecture has the boldness of simplicity, its oversized dial flirts with excess and offers an incredible space for expression. I dreamed of this creation as a blank canvas for the most audacious Métiers d’art. I have imagined five tableaux for this collection: a lacework of camellias, a composition of iconic bags, jewels strewn on black tweed, a diamond embroidery, and a jacket at the pattern stage.”
Each of these pieces tell a story, a story unique to Chanel, a story of Couture and of Haute Horlogerie to which only Chanel possesses the secret.
Mademoiselle Privé Pique-Aiguilles Pearls Motif watch features jewels strewn over a black tweed effect. Limited to just 20 pieces, the 18K yellow gold watch is set with 211 brilliant-cut diamonds

(~2.79 carats) and titanium with black coating case. The black tweed-effect dial decorated with 18K yellow sculpted gold jewels features 1 long necklace with pearls and 5 brilliant-cut diamonds (~0.07 carat), 1 black-lacquered long necklace and 2 Byzantine brooches set with onyx and 2 brilliant-cut diamonds (~0.20 carat) encircled by 120 brilliant-cut diamonds (~0.71 carat) and 18K yellow gold miniature pearls. Water resistant to 30 metres, the black matte grosgrain bracelet and buckle set with 45 brilliant-cut diamonds (~0.27 carat).
The Mademoiselle Privé Pique-Aiguilles Lace Motif watch features a lace design of camellias, created through a combination of three Métiers d’art.
First, the technique of hand engraving gives texture to the yellow gold surface of the dial. This is then covered with a layer of translucent “Grand Feu” enamel to accentuate and highlight the delicacy of the engraving and endow it with infinite depth. Finally, the Creation Studio used the traditional decal technique to draw the motif.
Successive layers of fine decals create a lacy pattern of camellias and the whole surface is strewn with tiny gold beads and five diamonds.
The Mademoiselle Privé Pique-Aiguilles Tweed Motif watch recreates the precious pattern of a tweed jacket trimmed with 92 diamonds. Thimble, scissors, tape measure: the tools of the seamstress meticulously created in sculpted gold bring this scene from a couture atelier to life. The dial is delicately trimmed with a chain just like the one sewn inside every CHANEL jacket to ensure it hangs perfectly.
The Mademoiselle Privé Pique-Aiguilles Embroidery Motif watch highlights the elegance and intricacies of black fabric embroidered with sequins, imagined by the Watchmaking Creation Studio in a convex disc of black-coated white gold, snow-set with diamonds and trimmed with a delicate row of tiny gold beads, individually set by hand.
Finally, the Mademoiselle Privé Pique-Aiguilles Quilted Motif watch features 5 iconic bags, which have been engraved and modelled in black mother-of-pearl to recreate the effect of quilted leather. Their engraved yellow gold chains are adorned with diamond charms, while each of the clasps is embellished with a baguette-cut diamond.
Each limited to just 20 pieces per watch, this is a truly stunning collection.

H08
Created in 2021, the Hermès H08 watch embodies a blend of rigorous discipline and high standards. Hovering between tension and fluidity, this contemporary design, with its powerful style, forms an object that is all about balance and contrast.
Sporty in spirit, with an urban look that echoes the masculine universe of the House, its pluralistic nature is now interpreted through a new rose gold and titanium model.
Expressed through a play on shapes and materials, with careful attention to detail and accurate operations to shape a look that is as sporty as it is elegant, the Hermès H08 watch mingles texture and minerality, deep hues and colourful touches, uncluttered and geometrical lines, along with a matt or shiny appearance.
Designed by Philippe Delhotal, Creative Director of Hermès Horloger, the circular dial with an original font is housed in a square case with softened edges.
Crafted in a sturdy and light alloy, the cushion-shaped case of the watch is composed of a black DLC- treated titanium caseback topped by a rose gold case middle. This play on opposites is enhanced by a black ceramic bezel and crown, and alternating satin-brushed and polished finishes.
The central minutes disc and the seconds hand are treated in black nickel, while the date appears in a cushion- shaped aperture between 4 and 5 o’clock. The two-tone case highlights the depth of the blackened, finely grained dial against which luminescent golden hands and Arabic numerals stand out in perfect clarity.
This legible and beautifully balanced display is driven by the Manufacture Hermès H1837 mechanical self-winding movement. Would be buyers and collectors can purchase a strap in black and anthracite fabric webbing, or black rubber with a titanium DLC folding clasp, further showcasing the versatility and elegance of this new model.

Val d'Isere doesn't just play host to World Cup events and one of the most engaging ski resorts in Europe, but also a plethora of luxurious places to stay. Consensio Chalets are on hand with a fine selection of properties to help you make the most of your visit with a carefully curated trip.
THE GROVE
Set in 300 acres of glorious Hertfordshire countryside, The Grove is the ultimate five star retreat.
Located just 18 miles from London, and part of the same management that looks after the Atheneum in Mayfair, the former home of the Earls of Clarendon has been lovingly restored and home to an award-winning spa, championship golf course, and dining options.
Originally the rural seat for the Earls of Clarendon who were residents until the 1920s and entertained famous guests including Queen Victoria and Edward VII, the Grove has undergone numerous transformations over time. After the Clarendons’ departure, The Grove went from a girls’ boarding school to the railway’s wartime headquarters before becoming the wondrous
country escape it is today.
Set in hundreds of acres of Hertfordshire’s countryside with its very own private beach surrounded by woodland trails and an outdoor pool, the 18th-century Mansion houses 26 rooms, suites and lounges decorated with a 21st- century spin on vintage glamour.
There’s also the thoroughly modern West Wing with a further 189 deluxe, superior and family rooms. With interconnecting rooms, cots for babies, bunk beds and single sofa beds for older children, The Grove is fully equipped to cater for families large or small. Many of these rooms also boast spacious balconies or
terraces looking over the immaculate Formal Gardens. Match this with well stocked mini bars, modern bathrooms with ESPA toiletries and wonderfully comfortable beds, The Grove is a home away from home welcoming families, golfers, colleagues, friends and couples alike, making it the ideal place for all to relax and enjoy.
Speaking of relaxation, the recently refurbished Sequoia spa is an experience like no other. With its black mosaic-tiled pool, heat experience rooms and specialist treatment options, the award-winning spa is available to spa members, spa day guest and residents of the hotel. Leave your stresses of the city behind and enjoy the superb facilities, including a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Ladies can also enjoy use of the specially created heaven shower, private steam room, sauna, and wellness pool, located just off the main changing room. A real treat and perfect for some post festive season unwinding.
With treatments ranging from prenatal massages, a citrus drench wrap, and hot stone massage; a must try is the Inner Beauty Facial. Tailored to your skin and precise needs, the Tri-Active ESPA formulas work immediately to cleanse and reawaken your skin, leaving you with a glowing, more radiant and rejuvenated complexion. Guests who have enjoyed treatments can also make use of the newly refurbished Tranquillity room afterwards and relax with a variety of dried fruits and herbal teas.
Elsewhere, there are also impressive fitness and exercise studios with the latest Technogym equipment and a daily timetable of classes. Plus, a Vitality Pool that can massage you from head-to-toe.
After all that relaxing, head down to one of the bars for a welldeserved cocktail or two. The Glasshouse Bar is contemporary
and - as you'd expect - bright and airy, with stunning views of the immaculately kept gardens.
From fruit and vegetables to herbs and honey, The Grove’s very own Kitchen Garden produces the freshest ingredients used in these seasonally-led dishes. Next door to the Glasshouse Bar is The Glasshouse restaurant with its own Estate to Plate menu; and on the other side of the hotel is The Stables, which offers a wholesome feast and a cosy bar.
The Stables boasts homemade, artisanal food with a focus on seasonality and homegrown produce. The Stables is the first step in The Grove’s journey to a regenerative approach - rejecting pesticides, chemicals and artificial fertilisers, in favour of regenerating the soil to increase biodiversity and improve water cycles.
From hand-reared meat to plant-based delights, everyone is catered for and the hearty menu champions high quality produce, sourced locally from sustainable suppliers that follow regenerative agricultural methods.
Menu highlights include the velvety jerusalem artichoke soup, Hand-dived scallops, pork belly, Granny Smith apple, celeriac remoulade; Matt’s chicken and leek pie, tarragon mustard sauce; and kale and porcini risotto with Wiltshire truffle. In addition, there is also an array of meats and fish from the grill. Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy the apple and foraged blackberry crumble and sticky toffee pudding with Grand Marnier puree and honeycomb ice cream. Those looking for something more savoury can enjoy a host of British Cheeses from across Wales and England.
The Stables is currently closed for renovation but will reopen at the end of March.
CHALET BLACKCOMB
Ski resorts don't come with much more heritage than Val d'Isere, in fact, no other resort can boast such a rich history. The very first ski resort to welcome would be skiers, this quaint town is ground zero to one of the most exciting, daring and challenging ski resorts around.
For those looking for a casual ski on gentle slopes, you can find your way comfortably thanks to the very well marked routes and conveniently positioned resort maps between handy stops that will offer up some respite such as the world renowned La Folie Douce - of which Val d'Isere's establishment is also the very first. However, if you are looking to challenge yourself, then there are plenty of snow covered routes that should raise your pulse. What's more, thanks to the high altitude of the resort, you won't have to worry about any lack of snow.
Whether you are a keen skier or more of an après ski connoisseur, Val d'Isere has something for everyone to enjoy, from high end shopping to indulgent and even historic restaurants such as La Grande Ourse - open since 1936, serving up authentic Savoyard cuisine - and the best way to ensure you can do exactly what you want, when you want, is to opt to stay in one of the luxurious chalet's on offer.
Recently undergoing a complete renovation and impressive
transformation, Chalet Blackcomb from Consensio Chalets offers up one of the best ways to enjoy this incredible resort. Part of their growing collection of luxury properties, Blackcomb joins the family in the 'relaxed catered chalet' collection which delivers a catered chalet experience unlike any other, and it's not just the meticulous, chic, modern alpine finish you'll enjoy.
Providing a more relaxed, family-focused chalet at an affordable price, with sustainability at the forefront, you benefit from Consensio’s concierge, an in-house chalet team of two dedicated hosts/cooks, an in-resort chalet-to-piste shuttle service and a housekeeper leaving nothing for you to do but enjoy yourself.
As a catered offering, you can indulge in some delicious fare of your choosing with some fantastic vegetarian and vegan options that will surprise even the meatiest of meat eaters thanks to some incredible knowledge from the in-house pairing of professional chefs Henry Eldon and Mikkaila Mckeever-Willis who are on hand to help with anything and everything you might need, including a top up of that free-flowing champagne.
In-keeping with Consensio's sustainability ethos and the pair's own environmental beliefs, at Chalet Blackcomb you can enjoy a completely plant-based day to explore the flavours that Henry
Chalet Blackcomb, Domain de Cacholet, Val d'Isere | consensiochalets.co.ukand Mikkaila are able to deliver without any animal-based products at all and sample some of the finest local ingredients they can get their hands on. You might even spot a few cows out of the window that provide cheese for the chalet on those nonvegan days.
While on a larger scale, Consensio themselves are committed to protecting the environment, having joined the Protect Our Winters campaign, and conducting a carbon footprint analysis of its entire operation, aiming to become carbon neutral by 2035. Working directly with owners, Consensio are able to help make their properties more efficient by integrating the latest environmental practices, including using renewable energy, increasing the recycling rate (currently around 80%), removing single-use plastic items and promoting meat-free days during guest dietary consultations.
With regard to Chalet Blackcomb, this became even more prevalent thanks to the scale of work undertaken on the property, creating a whole new section of living space along with the addition of a luxurious basement pool. This complete renovation and refurbishment has allowed for the creation of one of the most luxuriously comfortable chalets around. Vast glazing with vista's to dream of at every turn pair beautifully with the soft tones of natural wood throughout. Impeccably finished, every corner of Blackcomb has been expertly curated to create the perfect living space for guests to enjoy day or night whether you are visiting as an all-adult outfit or family with children.
Books, games and all the modern technology you could possibly need are on hand should you run out of slope stories,
and an abundance of varied spaces are available both inside and out to ensure everyone is able to escape the 'crowd' should they need some quiet time to contemplate.
With capacity to sleep up to ten people in five twin or double ensuite bedrooms, this stunning chalet is set over three floors with living space at the top comprising a beautiful open-plan kitchen and seating area separated by nothing but the stairs and glazed wall from the main living and dining area complete with fully stocked bar - which you can serve yourself from should you wish. You will also find a cosy snug in the furthest corner with views out to the mountains and a vast balcony from which you can enjoy a morning coffee or evening cocktail with an incredible vista.

There is one rule...if you enter the hot-tub and didn't inform the house staff that you didn't want champagne, then you should expect to receive a glass shortly.
With so many seating, dining and lounging areas available, you might just find yourself taking some time to relax in the chalet without even considering a venture to the slopes some days, and no one could blame you. Comfort is at the forefront of Chalet Blackcomb's spirit and it's easy to see the second you step foot inside. A warm, relaxed welcome continues throughout your stay.
CONSENSIO CHALETS
As you move down through the property, you will find all of the bedrooms located on the first floor - some with access out to private terraces, balconies and that all-important hot-tub. Each can be set up to suit your needs should you require double or twin rooms and each has been beautifully finished in-keeping with the rest of the property. Ensuites vary from indulgent freestanding baths to opulent and refreshing showers, or for the main suite, a touch of both. None of the rooms suffer for space, so there won't be any arguments over who gets which room, as long as no one else knows about the access to the hot-tub that is.
Once you venture down to the ground level - which boasts the main access to the property - you will find a substantial boot room where you can welcome your ski hire company should you require - with Oxygene offering an excellent, quick and professional in-chalet service - and access to the spa area.
Soon to welcome some additional features - look out for next season - the underground spa is a stunning hidden feature that you will very much welcome after a long day on the slopes. Relax and unwind in the crystal clear, naturally clean pool - using the latest filtration system to remove the need for harmful chemicals such as chlorine - and continue to enjoy your Perrier-Jouët as
long as you like. With well-being a key focus of Blackcomb, this lower ground floor spa with oxygenated pool and relaxation area is the ideal place to escape.
As part of Consensio's carbon neutral efforts, they are keen to encourage guests to reduce their footprint as much as possible, offering alternative travel and clothing options for your trip. Ecoski provide the perfect way to enjoy the very best ski gear without forking out for the full cost and you can simply return it all once your home without even having to wash it. And while you are there, why not enjoy the quality ski hire offering from Oxygene Ski & Snowboard School who can also provide you with a friendly, experienced guide for your trip.
International travel brings with it one of the biggest environmental issues, and Consensio are pushing for a cleaner ski trip with the use of train travel over flying. Dramatically reducing your impact, switching from plane to train won't add much time door-to-door, but will have a major impact on the environment.
Val d'Isere and Chalet Blackcomb offer up the ultimate homefrom-home escape in the perfect spot for skiing. Relaxed luxury doesn't come much better than this and you can enjoy it all now.

By Jean ImbertVoted Chef of the Year 2019 by GQ and one of the 50 Most Influential French People by Vanity Fair. Jean Imbert’s vision is to restore the glory of ancient French cuisine, with a new energy and vibrant soul. Inspired by the great traditions of French gastronomy, chef Jean Imbert has sought to recapture the splendour of its culinary art with recipes that have shaped the golden age of gastronomy across the world, whilst remaining deeply modern.
METHOD
Chop the shallots. Place in a casserole, add the crushed pepper and half of the white wine and reduce the volume by three quarters.
Slowly incorporate 200g of very cold cubed butter. Finish with a dash of lemon juice and infuse this mixture with the basil leaf for five minutes. Strain through a fine meshed sieve.
In a casserole melt the remaining butter. Add the garlic clove and sautée the spinach for one minute. Keep on the side in a clean bowl.
Roughly chop the button mushrooms and fry them in the same hot casserole. Deglaze the pan with the remaining white wine and leave to cook for an additional 5 minutes.
In a clean pan lightly fry the sea bream fillets in a drizzle of olive oil for about two minutes on each side.
TO SERVE
Reheat the mushrooms in a poissonière. Place them in the centre of the dish with the spinach, the beurre blanc reduction and the sea bream. Coat with breadcrumbs.
Grill in the oven over moderate heat. Garnish with a few spinach leaves and slivers of button mushrooms.

CHAMPAGNE SERVICE
2023 is just getting started and birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, and King Charles III’s Coronation are amongst some of the celebrations to look forward to. What better way to commemorate these milestones than with a glass of the world’s most prestigious sparkling wine: Champagne. With that in mind, the Bureau du Champagne UK shares its top tips on how to correctly serve Champagne - so you can shine as a host and showcase the magic of this very special sparkling wine!
Find the right Champagne style for every occasion
With a vast range of Champagne styles to choose from, selecting the perfect bottle can be a tricky task. From Blanc de Blancs to Blanc de Noirs; Rosé and Demi-sec champagnes, every style will add something different to the occasion. For a drink pre-dinner, the general tendency is to opt for a Champagne that is not too vinous, with no particularly dominant aromas such as a nonvintage Brut or a non-vintage Blanc de Blancs (made entirely from a white grape variety such as Chardonnay for example). Serve it
with lightly salted crackers, nuts, green olives and bite-sized pieces of Gruyère cheese. A Blanc de Noirs, produced exclusively from black grape varieties such as Pinot Noir or Meunier, are full-bodied with notes of white and yellow fruits. When matured for longer, Blanc de Noirs can develop notes and aromas of coffee, cocoa, and brioche.
Rosé Champagne can range from soft to deep pink and from very light to full-bodied and aromas can vary from fresh to much more powerful. A Demi-sec has a higher sugar content than the majority of Champagne wines with between 32 and 50 grams of
To find out more about Champagne visit champagne.fr or enrol at champagne-mooc.com
sugar per litre - this produces a much rounder sparkling wine with notes that are sweet on the palate. For a landmark anniversary or birthday, why not indulge in a Vintage Champagne. A vintage Champagne can be of any type - to mark its characteristics, a vintage Champagne will spend at least 36 months in the cellar and often a good deal longer leading to much more pronounced aromas.
Read the label
A label gives you information about the wine in the bottle and is quite easy to understand. Several indications are mandatory on a Champagne bottle: the “Champagne” AOC (appellation), the sugar content (dosage: brut, sec, demi-sec, etc.), the alcohol content (% vol), the brand name, the producer’s name etc…
Something to look out for are the initials “NM”, “RM” and “CM”:
A Négociant Manipulant (NM) is an individual or company who, in addition to the grapes sourced from their own vines if they have any, buys grapes, musts or wines to make Champagne on their own premises.
A Récoltant Manipulant (RM) makes own-label Champagne from grapes exclusively sourced from their own vineyards
A Récoltant-Coopérateur (RC) delivers grapes from their own harvest to their cooperative - then retrieves from this cooperative the musts or wines in the process of being made or ready to be sold.
Chill your Champagne
Chilling Champagne is essential to enjoy the full extent of its finesse. The best way to chill a bottle of Champagne is to plunge it into an ice bucket half filled with water and ice for around 30 minutes until it reaches a temperature of 8 to 10 degrees Celsius. If you are running short on time, add two tablespoons of salt to the cold water. This will bring your bottle to the perfect temperature within 30 minutes.
Which glass should I use?
Flutes have commonly been thought of as the crème de la crème, however, a tall, rounded, tulip-shaped glass perfectly shows off your Champagne’s aromas and bubbles.
How to open and serve your Champagne
The blunt pop of the cork and the fizz of the fine bubbles - instantly reminiscent of celebration - is a sparkling start to any celebration. But how do you open a bottle of Champagne correctly? After removing the wire cage and foil cap keep a firm hold on the cork, hold the bottle and tilt it to a 30-45° angle, being careful to point it safely away from anyone. Gently rotate the bottle until the cork slowly pops out.
To correctly pour your Champagne, start with a small amount into your tulip shaped glass and let it sit for a few moments. Then, slowly fill up the rest of the glass until it is two-thirds full. Do not take the person’s glass when pouring. Notice the effervescence and the forming of the “pearl necklace” on the surface of the Champagne. Now it is time to enjoy!

REINTERPRETING AN ICON
SPEED GTC
The flagship version of the ultimate, open-top grand tourer - the GT Speed Convertible - offers the most driver focused package in the Continental range
Sitting proudly atop the Continental range, Bentley's flagship Continental GT Speed Convertible delivers the pinnacle of open-top grand touring luxury. Whether you delve into its performance figures or explore the comfort levels over extended distances, you will soon find that there is very little to question as far as this automobiles credentials are concerned.
Given the 'Speed' iteration, this is - as with previous models - a performanceorientated version of the Continental, however this one takes things a little further. Providing the most powerful, driver-focused interpretation of the convertible to date, there is plenty on offer when it comes to performance, and that's just the beginning of this impressive car's story.
Now in its third generation, the Continental GT Speed Convertible builds on a rich history of success from its origins back in 2009 with its continued use of the renowned 6.0-litre W12 engine. Now featuring an enhanced version of the TSI unit, the latest version delivers a staggering and increased 659PS - 24PS more than the previous version - and whopping 900Nm of torque, which will propel you from standing to sixty miles-per-hour in just 3.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 208 mph. When you consider this is both a convertible and built to be one of the most luxuriously comfortable machines on the road, those figures become even more impressive.
It is the most advanced 12-cylinder engine in the world and both the engine and transmission have been recalibrated specifically for the Speed to suit its powerful credentials. Most noticeable in 'Sport' driving mode, the twin-turbocharged W12 has been tuned to maintain the power band longer by up-shifting later, or downshifting earlier situation dependant, creating a more eager response to driver requirements. The lightning quick dual-clutch, eight-speed transmission shift is twice as fast in 'Sport' as in the standard W12 model and combines beautifully with an even more impressive exhaust tone during start up and gear downshifts.
Every aspect of the car has been designed and engineered at the carbon neutral home in Crewe where each GTC Speed is handcrafted and lovingly put together before being delivered to the owner. Along with the latest updates in factory technology come improvements in manufacturing and this model takes full advantage. Offering enhanced, cutting-edge chassis technology, the third generation brings unrivalled control and accuracy on the roadsomething that wasn't especially lacking in the outgoing model.
Dynamism isn't sacrificed for comfort with this car, yet the way the chassis has been developed, you can enjoy both in equal measure dependant on your mood. In 'Bentley' and 'Comfort' mode, grip is balanced perfectly between the front and rear axles to ensure a stable, comfortable ride, but when 'Sport' mode is initiated, it re-calibrates to favour the rear with a biased torque split to deliver a more energetic and athletic drive.
With a car of this size and stature, cornering has always been the big question that hangs over it, yet time and again, the engineers at Bentley swat any doubters away with technology and mechanics that seemingly defy the laws of physics. A small, light, rear-wheel drive sports car can understandably corner exceptionally well, however the GTC Speed manages to hold its own despite being none of those things. Improved dynamics thanks to that chassis and extra grip afforded by the new drive systems allow you to corner with confidence and purpose and accelerate out of corners at an even faster pace than before while remaining completely composed on the road. The traction system that manages where all that power should be going will also send more to the rear axle when in 'Sport' for you to enjoy an even more dynamic ride should you so choose.

Maintaining the perfect balance between performance and comfort is no small feat. An incredible three-chamber active air suspension system with adaptive damping is paired with Bentley Dynamic Ride - the 48V active anti-roll control system that Bentley pioneered on the Bentayga and third-generation Continental GT - which takes suspension innovation to the next level and the results speak for themselves. This is a no holes barred sports car when performing in 'Sport', but immediately transforms into a luxuriously comfortable grand tourer at the press of a button, allowing you to enjoy the very best of both worlds in one stunningly beautiful package. All while the wind gently flows through your hair.
The innovative suspension system features powerful electric motors within each anti-roll bar to resist body roll. In the firmest setting, the motors can deliver 1300 Nm in 0.3 secs to counteract cornering forces and keep the body level - this car's secret weapon against its smaller, lighter counterparts.
Of course, such high level performance requires equal and opposite technology in order to make it stop. The 'standard' brake setup is more than up to the task, but should you wish to really push the boundaries of on-the-road driving dynamism, then the optional carbon ceramic brake system is a must. Using this highperformance material reduces the brake force required for highspeed deceleration and lowers the risk of brake fade to ensure you can continue to perform at the very highest level for even longer. Perfect if you plan on enjoying some extended dynamic driving on the road or even track.
This is car that not only performs at the highest level in terms of dynamism and comfort, but also presents itself as such in the perfect manner. Understated aggression is paired with sleek sophistication at every angle, both inside and out.
Distinctive, angular lines feature across the rear wheel arches, boot lip and along the sides of the GTC Speed to instil an understanding of this car's potency, along with those vast, gaping dual exhaust pipes that protrude from the rear. Meanwhile, the soft, flowing lines and curves that make up this car's profile hint at its higher level of class, quality and comfort. An elegance that is to be enjoyed on the French Riviera by passers-by or equally appreciated every time you venture out to go for a drive.
A distinctive, tailored, ‘Z-fold’ roof naturally transforms the aesthetic of the car, yet thankfully doesn't detract from its beauty when up. It can be deployed or stowed in just 19 seconds, transforming it from a luxurious coupe to an open-top grand tourer at the touch of a button up to speeds of 30mph. Seven
exterior roof colours are available, including a contemporary interpretation of traditional British tweed. Black, blue, claret and grey are among the other options. Furthermore, eight interior roof liner finishes are offered, ranging from new red to magnolia to create your own personal combination.
Distinguishing this as the pinnacle performance model, the Continental GT Speed Convertible offers unique exterior and interior detailing, including Speed sport sills, dark tint grilles and Speed badging. You can also choose from three finishes to the unique 22” forged Speed wheels. While inside the luxuriouslyappointed cabin, the new GTC speed includes Speed badging on the passenger fascia, an Alcantara steering wheel and a unique colour split trim in hide and Alcantara.
An ultra-luxurious interior is exactly what you would expect from this car and it delivers by the bucket-load. Leather and premium veneer at every turn - with 15 main and 11 secondary hide choices available - the finish is impeccable and can be tailored to suit your every requirement. Offering unrivalled refinement blended with that unique 'Speed' detailing, the distinctive interior space is fully revealed to the world when the roof is lowered.
Diamond in Diamond quilting and Speed embroidered headrests give a further hint at the performance characteristics of this car, while mono tone colour split with Alcantara/leather is a no cost option. Piano Black veneer comes as standard, with crown cut, dark stain burr walnut and dark fiddleback eucalyptus offered as no cost options. Open pore dark stain burr walnut veneer, crown cut walnut and koa are also available.
An essential for any luxury convertible, the neckwarmer - which is both warmer and quieter than in the previous generation model - is seamlessly integrated into the already incredible heated and vented comfort seats, optimising efficiency and airflow around the electrically adjustable headrests to ensure you stay refreshed during the Summer and warm in the Winter whether you have the roof up or down. The styling highlight of the new neckwarmer is a chrome centre vane that stretches the full width of the duct, echoing Bentley’s famous ‘bullseye’ vents. Combined with a heated steering wheel and heated armrests, these sophisticated comfort features create a luxurious driving experience in all environments.
Bentley really have thought of everything with this car. Taking years of experience on board to deliver a performance machine of this calibre while maintaining the levels of comfort and quality you come to expect from the marque is a truly impressive achievement. Moreover, the addition of the convertible functionality takes the Continental GT Speed Convertible to the next level.

BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GTC SPEED
In celebration of an iconic heritage car which turns 70 in 2023 - the R-Type Continental JAS 949 - Bentley Motors have handcrafted a unique, one-of-a-kind Continental GT Azure taking unmistakable inspiration from this historic car.
One of just 208 examples of the R-Type Continental to have ever been built, JAS 949 was part of a select few that had an impact much larger than its limited numbers suggest. Still influencing today, the truly beautiful design ethos of the car is mirrored in today's Continental.
Quoted as 'a modern magic carpet which annihilates great distances', it was the fastest four-seat luxury saloon in the world at the time of launch back in 1952 and delivered an elegant aesthetic that would influence the first generation Continental GT decades later in 2003. Taking note of the power line from the front wheel, the rear haunch and the roofline, it's clear to see the inspiration.
The new Continental GT Azure has been carefully curated using Mulliner's Personal Commissioning Guide to ensure a fitting homage to one of the most iconic members of Bentley's 43-car Heritage Collection. Acquired in 2001, JAS 949 is Bentley's very own R-Type Continental which resides in the newly opened Heritage Garage at the carbon-neutral home in Crewe and has been maintained to keep it in an excellent mechanical state while
preserving the history and patina. In order to keep it a well-oiled machine, it is driven on the road regularly, as any Bentley should.
First delivered to Dr Rowland Guenin of Switzerland in December 1953, JAS 949 was ordered in ivory with a red interior and manual gearbox along with its original 4.6-litre engine which has been retained to this day. In order to recreate a car with as close a specification as possible, the new Azure has been hand painted in Old English White - a faithful re-creation of the heritage paint colour - and completed with bright chrome and hand-finished wheels in a black and polished finish as per the original - despite the size variance from 16" to 22".
It's not just on the outside that Bentley have mirrored the historic aesthetic, the interior features a beautiful reinterpretation with Cricket Ball leather throughout to match JAS 949 along with an open pore Burr Walnut veneer to get as close to the textured, patinated finish of the R-Type as possible. Hand-applied piping in Beluga leather delivers a stunning contrast to complete the contemporary take.
This celebratory piece of craftsmanship is a truly stunning nod to one of the most influential designs in the Bentley stable and one that will live on, much like JAS 949, for decades to come. A fitting way to wish this icon a happy 70th birthday.
Studebaker
Starting life in the late 1930's, the Studebaker Champion was produced by the Studebaker Corporation of South Bend, Indiana, up until 1958. A 'full-size' car in its first three generations and a 'mid-size' car in its last two generation models, the Champion served as a junior model to the Commander.
This car's success was responsible for the survival of Studebaker as a manufacturer following weak sales in 1938 before it was introduced. Unlike in the development of most other cars, the Champion was designed from a "clean sheet" and had no restrictions resulting from using older parts or requiring the subsequent use of its components in heavier vehicles. For its size, the Champion was one of the lightest cars of its era, with its
compact straight-six engine outlasting the model itself, produced up until the end of 1964.
The Champion was one of Studebaker's best-selling models thanks to its low pricing, durable engine, and of course, styling. The model won Mobilgas economy runs by posting the highest fuel efficiency tests and during World War II, were coveted for their high efficiency at a time when fuel was rationed in the US. From 1943 to 1945, the Champion engine was even used as the powerplant for the Studebaker M29 Weasel personnel and cargo carrier, which also used four sets of the Champion's leaf springs arranged transversely for its bogie suspension.
In 1947, Studebaker completely redesigned the Champion, making it one of the first new cars after World War II alongside the Commander.
This 1948 left-hand drive Studebaker Champion features a 2769cc 6-Cylinder engine and manual column gear shift. Presented in its original Tulip Yellow coachwork with fabric interior, it is a striking car on any road. A very rare car that has been imported by its former keepers from the USA and has been lovingly maintained.
It comes with a huge file showing lots of correspondence with the owners club, extensive invoices and original service manuals, shop manuals, body parts catalogue and colour brochure.
It boasts a very impressive on-the-road presence - a rare and interesting car for not much money.

Making Moves
Whether you're buying or selling, Savills have compiled some of the best tips to help you on your journey to a new home. From broadening your horizons as a buyer, to making sure you price your property correctly as a seller.
Although there is a degree of caution among those looking to buy or sell their property in 2023, there’s still plenty of opportunity left in the market with many looking to make their next move. Bringing your home to the market at the beginning of the year may feel counter intuitive, but can really help get you ahead of the competition.
There are plenty of good reasons to bring your home to the market or look to buy at the start of the year. Here are a few tips from Savills head of London Residential, Liza-Jane Kelly, to get you moving:
TIPS FOR THOSE LOOKING TO MOVE IN 2023
with Liza-Jane Kelly, Head of Savills London ResidentialFor buyers
Be open minded: To be successful in your house hunt, it’s going to be important to keep an open mind regardless of whether you are choosing to upsize, downsize, or are in search of a lifestyle change or merely to be within walking distance of the school gates. Being flexible and recognising that there may be a degree of compromise will help keep your search open. Selecting a few ‘must haves’ and ‘dealbreakers’ without losing sight of what you want from your next move.
Position: Being in a position to transact quickly will allow you to take advantage of new launches as and when they come to the market. Ensuring that your finances are in order and that you
have a reliable solicitor will stand you in good stead, as will having your mortgage agreed. Being a cash buyer will always play to your advantage, but it’s important to consider and factor in additional costs like agency fees and stamp duty.
You will also need to assess how much a larger property will cost to heat - the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) will give some hints.
For sellers
Price Right: Pricing carefully and realistically in a sensitive market will also play dividends when achieving a sale, particularly given that some buyers’ budgets may already be stretched or less flexible. Ambitious pricing can deter buyers, especially if they are looking at multiple properties at the same level of the market. But those who are serious in their search or need to move quickly will realise that they need to be pragmatic when it comes to negotiating a sale.
It’s also important to choose an agent that is experienced, understands the local market and that can offer you good comparable evidence - not just an agent offering you the highest price for your home.
Kerb Appeal: Before photographs are taken and your property is bought to the market, take time to consider your property’s kerb appeal. It’s common knowledge that first impression counts and are the first step in attracting potential buyers to book those allimportant viewings.
Your aim should be to show off the space in your home and give a potential buyer an insight into the lifestyle that your home offers. Having a good sort out and tucking clutter out of sight will create opportunities for buyers to imagine their own belongings in the space. Tidying up paintwork and fixing and superficial cracks or stains are usually inexpensive to remedy.
Looking forward: Despite price falls forecast right across the UK, prime central London and outer prime London are set to fare better than the UK mainstream markets, where average prices could fall by 10 per cent.
By contrast, London’s prime markets (broadly the top 10% by value), will be cushioned from some of the affordability concerns due to much higher levels of equity and cash buyer numbers. Prime central London and outer prime London are predicted to drop by just 2.0 per cent and 7.0 per cent respectively.
However, recovery is expected from 2024 with prices in central locations set to increase to +13.5 per cent by 2027 - the highest growth of all markets over the five year period - and by 6.0 per cent across outer prime London locations.
