[X OPS]
Since 2001, the Freak has been rewriting the rules of conventional high-end watchmaking. On debut, it disrupted the traditional world of Swiss Haute Horlogerie, disposing with aesthetic and technical norms. Here was a watch with no dial, no hands and no crown. And yet it was a mechanical watch, conceived by some of the finest minds watchmaking had ever known.
Over the past two decades, the Freak has become a fearless 21st century watchmaking icon, the Millennium’s first collector’s watch and the author of a roadmap to destinations unknown that countless others have since followed.
The Freak’s story has continued to gather momentum. Further inventions. New materials. Always the unexpected. And then in 2019, Ulysse Nardin broke the conventions of the unconventional Freak by introducing the Freak X. The story? Still no dial. Still no hands. But this time, it did have a crown.
The Freak X was aimed at a new generation of Freak collectors. Its form was simplified – see the addition of a crown – but it was still an outlandish expression of analogue watch design. The movement bridges still doubled as the hands, and the movement included advanced developments such as the lightweight silicon balance wheel with nickel flyweights. The look was distinctly Freakish, but this was different again. This was the easygoing Freak.
At Watches and Wonders Shanghai, Ulysse Nardin has taken the Freak X undercover with the Freak [X OPS] – as in, “operations”. Its black DLC titanium case, bezel and crown, khaki green carbon fibre composite flanks and fabric strap convey an adventurous inspiration to the Freak [X OPS]. The innovative material used in the case flanks originally appeared in the Freak X Magma. There, it was a mix of carbon fibre and red, marbled epoxy resin. Here, the mix is with green epoxy resin.
In green, it has an easy-going, casual luxury feel to it. Backed up by its fabric strap, it appeals to sporty and adventurous collectors.
The Ulysse Nardin backstory is eternally tied to exploration and expertise. In the beginning, the company made trailblazing marine chronometers and supplied some of the world’s leading navies with innovative, high-calibre navigation tools. That same pioneering spirit lies behind the Freak [X OPS], a watch that captures a passion for finding new worlds and fresh expressions of established ideas.
Beating away at the watch’s heart is the UN230 self-winding movement, a marriage of the bulletproof UN-118 and the high-tech UN-250 that gave the Freak Vision its unforgettable look. The watch is water-resistant to 50 metres.
Typically, mechanical watches hide their workings under a dial. But the Freak [X OPS] has no dial. Its movement doubles as its minute hand, while the hour hand is a pointer set on a rotating disc that sits under the movement. With no hands, its one-hour orbital carousel tourbillon becomes the minute hand, and the hour hand is replaced by a pointer on a rotating disc. A challenging design, but easy to read.
The Freak [X OPS] has case flanks made of Ulysse Nardin’s ultra-lightweight carbon fibre composite, a material inspired by the irregular patterns of Damascus steel and introduced in 2019. It’s produced by weaving carbon fibre with (in this case) a green epoxy resin, giving it its signature three-dimensional look. No two cases are the same.
Powered by UN-230, a self-winding movement with a 72-hour power reserve. The movement’s flying carousel with its silicon balance wheel and escapement are suspended by a bridge that acts as the minute hand; a second bridge serves as the hour hand. The hour and minute indicators and hour markers are coated in a matching khaki green Super-LumiNova® that glows green in low-light conditions.
Over the past two decades, the Freak has appeared in many further guises and also been used as a testbed for experimental advanced technologies. But at heart it remains what it always was: a freak.

Creative and brilliant are just a couple of words that describes the essence of Bell & Ross’ new version of its emblematic BR 03 watch. The BR 03 shares similarities, but has been taken to a higher level by means of a sophisticated evolution.
An icon in Bell & Ross’ history, the BR03 collection embodies Bell & Ross’ identity and style and has been one of its landmarks as of 2006. Since its inception in 1994, the brand has proudly been the ultimate reference in the field of aviation watches, by meeting the demands of professional users in extreme conditions. Its design principles are inspired in aircraft cockpits and aeronautical instrumentation, which ensures first class performance, functionality, and reliability.
The brand is a benchmark in the world of professional aviation watches. It is also respected because it epitomises the spirit of refinement and good taste. Its legendary “circle within a square, held by four screws” design, that is reminiscent of the silhouette of cockpit clocks, was a brilliant bid.
The story goes like this: the BR 01 made its appearance in 2005 with an imposing 46 mm case. In 2006, the 42 mm model was launched with great success. In 2023 the BR 03 it's reimagined, once again, with a 41 mm case and other remarkable features.
Today, the BR 03 collection has revisited three watches with black ceramic cases, and four in polished steel. The collection has also been enriched with a copper dial model, and one in khakicoloured ceramic. However, the striking Phantom with its entirely black appearance delivers a dark, chic aesthetic
In the universe of watchmaking design, every millimeter counts. Enlarging or reducing a case is a serious matter. Designers often prefer to start over, rather than altering an iconic model. Bruno Belamich, Bell & Ross’ co-founder and Creative Director, who knows about impeccability, says: “With the new BR03, we modified the proportions of the collection by respecting its canons. Our goal was to preserve the identity that has made the BR03 so successful, while adapting it to the new times and maintaining its allure.”
The lightly smaller dimensions of the case - 42mm to 41 - are delicate and powerful at the same time. They are immediately perceived by the eye and change the look and feeling of the watch. This is enhanced by the lugs, which have now changed from 4.5 mm to 4. These transformations reflect an exciting and newfound rhythm.
The evolution of the BR 03 includes a narrower rubber strap and a new automatic movement: the BR-CAL.302, which introduces an extended power reserve of 54 hours. This implies the watch can be left unused and will display the exact time two days later. The pieces are also water-resistant to 100 meters. Stylish, functional and easy to read, these watches confirm Bell & Ross’ know-how in the field of professional watchmaking.

BLACK CERAMIC SUPERSONNERIE
Swiss Haute Horlogerie manufacturer Audemars Piguet pushes its material exploration further with the release of two new 42 mm Royal Oak Minute Repeater Supersonnerie versions.
Presented in a black ceramic case for the first time, offering a sleek look offset with refined white gold and titanium details, the watches are equipped with the Manufacture’s state-of-the-art Supersonnerie mechanism and powered by the patented handwound minute repeater movement, Calibre 2953.
Offering an exceptional acoustic performance that transcends ceramic’s limited sound conductivity, blending contemporary design with cutting-edge technology, the two models open new technical and aesthetic horizons for the Royal Oak collection.
Incorporating a full black ceramic caseback - a first at Audemars Piguet - and with its multitude of apertures on the side - meant to amplify the minute repeater’s sound when the watch is worn - the caseback epitomises the painstaking manufacturing and finishing operations ceramic components go through to highlight the material’s nuances and the multifaceted shape of the Royal Oak case. The ceramic used contains Zirconium Oxide powder (ZrO2) combined with a binding agent. It achieves its final uniform colour once it has been sintered at a temperature of over 1,000 °C. Each component is then pre-polished and pre-satin-brushed before being meticulously finished by hand to achieve the Manufacture’s trademark alternation of satin brushing and polished chamfers. Lastly, the casebacks have been engraved with sonic waves in tribute to the incredible acoustic performance granted by the Supersonnerie mechanism.
The timepieces’ black monochromatic aesthetic continues onto the Grand Tapisserie dials with their minute train and small seconds counter at 6 o’clock decorated with a snailing finishing. The first version is complemented with white gold hour-markers filled with luminescent coating, while the second model features 13 baguette-cut diamond hour-markers for a shimmering contrast. Both models are adorned with white gold Royal Oak hands filled with luminescent coating for optimum legibility. The white gold details illuminating the dial echo the eight white gold hexagonal screws securing the octagonal bezel onto the case.
Each timepiece is completed with a black rubber strap enhanced with titanium studs and a new three-blade AP folding clasp also crafted in titanium.
The two timepieces are equipped with the Manufacture’s latest hand-wound minute repeater movement, the patented Calibre 2953, which blends advanced technology with refined traditional finishing. Despite ceramic’s limited sound conductivity, the two timepieces present a remarkable acoustic performance thanks to the Manufacture’s Supersonnerie technology unveiled in 2015.
Developed by Audemars Piguet and launched in the Royal Oak Concept collection, the Supersonnerie mechanism endows the Manufacture’s latest minute repeater models with the volume and resonance usually associated with pocket watches. This patented technology results from eight years of research in collaboration with EPFL, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne. Inspired by the sonic power of older minute repeater watches as well as by the harmony of musical instruments, a dedicated community of watchmakers, technicians, academics and musicians reviewed the case construction to produce a new chiming technology.
The exceptional acoustic performance, sound quality and harmonic tone are granted by the patented gongs, case construction and striking regulator developed at the time. One of the main developments regards the case construction: the gongs are not attached to the mainplate, but to a titanium membrane which acts as a soundboard and improves sound transmission. Paired with a solid caseback featuring small apertures on its side to let air through, the titanium membrane allows the notes of the minute repeater to resonate perfectly when the watch sits on the wrist, regardless of the material(s) used for the watch’s external parts.
Indeed, the acoustics of the Supersonnerie technology is such that Audemars Piguet has been able to house it in a variety of case materials across its collections, from titanium and 950 platinum to 18-carat white and pink gold - each watch offering its own powerful and unique tonality. This year, the Manufacture has pushed sound experimentation one step further by presenting its very first black ceramic Minute Repeater Supersonnerie models. Even the casebacks, which play a crucial role in creating a resonance chamber together with the Supersonnerie membrane, are honed from black ceramic. Since this titanium membrane on which the gongs are attached enhances the sound transmission of ceramic, the result is a powerful, crystalline chime.

BLANCPAIN SWATCH
Blancpain is collaborating with Swatch to create a playful and unexpected version of its iconic Fifty Fathoms scuba diving watch.
Celebrating the oceans that Blancpain is so deeply committed to preserving and safeguarding, Blancpain and Swatch are teaming up for a non-limited collection of five models full of joie de vivre, colour and technology. Together, the two Swatch Group brands are diving into the five oceans of the blue planet, combining the best of both brands with innovative, bioceramic, water-resistant timepieces and a mechanical movement with a 90-hour power reserve.
Each model celebrates one of the five oceans, the conservation of which is so dear to Blancpain's heart. The obvious choice for this project was the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, a watch born exactly 70 years ago and that revolutionised watchmaking by becoming the first true diver's watch.
Made from bioceramic, a unique and patented blend of twothirds ceramic and one-third biomaterials derived from castor
oil, the colours chosen for this collaboration clearly indicate that this is not a traditional Blancpain watch, all fans and enthusiasts will recognise at first glance many of the features and characteristics of the iconic Fifty Fathoms, as well as nods to the Swatch Scuba collection.
The main features of the Fifty Fathoms are all present in the Swatch version: the typical case, its unidirectional rotating bezel to measure the duration of the dive as well as its self-winding movement protected from magnetic fields - in this instance the SISTEM51 equipped with the Nivachron™ antimagnetic balance spring.
Each model features the shared Blancpain X Swatch logos on the dial and crown. The straps are made from recycled fishing nets removed from the ocean floor.
The watches are available now at selected Swatch stores worldwide. Presented in a special diving case, the watches will also be on display for a few weeks in a selection of Blancpain boutiques, but not for sale.

PERFORMANCE PRECISION POWER
Put your helmet on and hold on tight. Roger Dubuis is back in the driving seat of pulsating chronograph design. Accelerating through the gears of innovation and performance, the Maison shows no sign of slowing down in its turbo-charged delivery of Hyper Horology™.
The new Excalibur Spider Revuelto Flyback Chronograph is as much a reference to Roger Dubuis long-lasting partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse as it is inspired by the incredible Lamborghini Revuelto - a milestone creation in speed and the very first super sports V12 hybrid plug-in HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle).
From the colours to the aerodynamic curves, this watch has been injected with spellbinding creativity to delight any supercar fan. At its heart, there’s also a powerful synergy between traditional DNA and unprecedented mechanics.
When Mr. Roger Dubuis launched his company and set the tone for excellence in 1995, he included the prestigious chronograph calibre in the very first watches he created. The second generation of chronograph then arrived in 1998 - the fully integrated RD28 calibre developed by the Maison. In 2012, the chronograph was associated with a tourbillon to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Poinçon de Genève, while finally, in 2014, a fourth generation of chronograph was born, showcasing the Maison's commitment to this iconic aspect of high horology.
Having built that expertise and know-how to an exceptional standard, Roger Dubuis has now arrived at its fifth generation of chronograph design. Crafted with the Maison’s most advanced savoirfaire, the collection that debuted earlier this year is now followed by the latest variation - the Excalibur Spider Revuelto Flyback Chronograph. The new watch is powered by the RD780. Reaching 72 hours of power reserve, this calibre is like no other chronograph movement. Its Flyback function places the calibre at a remarkable standard of savoirfaire and enables the instantaneous restarting of the timer function while the chronograph is running. Most impressively, however, the watchmakers received full creative licence, allowing them to build the calibre from scratch and integrate the chronograph complication into the movement. This is a bold move away from the rational, modular approach, and takes many more months to complete. But the extra time is well worth it, as it means that the entire calibre is designed to both tell the time and measure time, while also expressing its own aesthetic identity.
This 45mm timepiece is sure to turn heads with its shades of orange and green and signature "Y" shape bar on the dial to mirror the headlights of Lamborghini's equally striking V12 hybrid supercar.
Roger Dubuis' Excalibur Spider Revuelto Flyback Chronograph is limited to just 88 pieces.

This multitasking lip gloss from RMS nourishes lips and helps stimulate the cells to plump up the lips forFour years in the making, and the first Chanel lipstick to feature glass packaging, 31 Le Rouge is a prism of light. Inspired by Gabrielle Chanel's infamous mirrored staircase at 31 Rue Cambon, the case is a tribute to the ultimate birthplace of Chanel creation, but also a reflection of the House’s avant-garde spirit. With 31 Le Rouge, Chanel transforms lipstick into a work of craftsmanship, a fusion of technology and glassmaking expertise traditionally used in high perfumery.
Calling upon the expertise of a master glassmaker from Japan to carve its sleek lines, glass replaces other more standard materials in this lipstick case, revealing the object’s facets in all their splendour. Cut like a diamond and envisioned as an emblem, the 31 Le Rouge case is set with two gold-coloured metal rings whose proportions perfectly complement those of its delicate glass sides. A new signature, a new code, like two wedding bands that seal the precious union between the present and future.
Refillable, 31 Le Rouge boasts 12 shades, all drawn from the house's heritage, with a stunning luminous satin finish. Micronised pigments are blended with oil, paired with cellulose powder, and enhanced with opalescent mother-of-pearl, they offer a stunning luminous satin finish.
Among the shades is Rouge 2.55, a deep and sophisticated garnet inspired by the lining of an iconic handbag. Rouge Fetiche, a crisp crimson, is the colour of the flannel ribbons that Mademoiselle wore around her ankles like lucky amulets leading up to the release of a new collection. Rouge Beige is a natural beige, a nod to a visionary idea; at a time when women were expected to dress only in dark colours at night, she elevated the allure of the evening gown by creating it out of beige satin.
Designed for ultimate comfort and optimal hydration, each fine coat of 31 Le Rouge envelops lips thanks to a blend of plant-derived waxes and oils smoothing lips and ensuring an even finish with lips left firmer, smoother and plumper.
Lipstick £140.00; Refill £65.00; and Full Kit £315.00 from Chanel.

FAZENDA
Having opened its doors in the heart of the financial district in the City of London on 2nd August this year, Premium South American group, Fazenda, launched its new restaurant in Bishopsgate and it promises to take the essence of the traditional South American grill and the Rodizio, which the brand is famed for, to another level. Rodizio is Portuguese for rotate or turn and the new à la carte menu embraces this concept where they rotate freshly cooked meats of various types past your table and carve them directly onto your plate.
Spanning across two floors in the thriving 100 Bishopsgate tower and surrounded by an eclectic mix of iconic buildings, restaurants and bars, the newest 170 cover addition to the group intends to fuse opulence with elegance and simplicity. Featuring a stylish mezzanine bar and three exclusive private dining rooms as well as an expansive standalone bar and lounge with al-fresco tables for outdoor drinking, Fazenda Bishopsgate oozes luxurious, modern sophistication paired with famous gaucho tradition.
Reimagining traditional cuisine from the Pampas (low grasslands) in Argentina and Southern Brazil, Fazenda centres around a passion for the highest quality of meats and freshly prepared sides, served in authentic Rodizio style. The Rodizio menu features a mouthwatering selection of twelve premium grilled meats, carved at the table including picanha, chuletas de cordero (lamb cutlets), barriga de porco (pork belly), and sobrecoxa de frango (chicken thighs). Their exclusive market table boasts a range of starters sides and accompaniments to enhance your experience.
Inspired by recent trips to Brazil and Argentina by Executive Chef Francisco Martinez and for those not having the Rodizio experience, starters on the à la carte include gamba patagonica (giant king prawn, spicy chimichurri), caviar e churros (Cornish Baeri caviar, churros, creme fraiche) and wagyu crudo (A4 grade wagyu beef tartare, charcuterie).
Main dishes include standout plates of pasta de beterraba (beetroot tortellini, orange, feta cheese), moqueca de mar (cod, carabinero prawn, mussels, tomato, coconut), and truta (Scottish trout, piquillo peppers, onion, creme fraiche).

Preheat an oven to 175°C. In a bowl place the croutons, season well with salt and freshly ground black pepper, add the olive oil and gently toss until all of the bread is coated in oil. Place the croutons on a parchment lined baking sheet in the oven for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown and crunchy.

SALAD ASSEMBLY
In a large bowl add the rocket, tomatoes, cucumber, melons, croutons, salt and pepper to taste followed by the vinaigrette. Lightly toss the salad being cautious not to bruise the ingredients.
Divide the salad between four serving plates or bowls of your choice. Place the burrata cheese in the centre of the plate on top of the salad, sprinkle some of the ricotta salata around the salad and garnish with the pickled red onion. CHAMPAGNE DAY
Each year, the fourth Friday of October marks Champagne Day! To celebrate this year on Friday 27th October, The Champagne Bureau UK is shining a light on Champagne’s history, progressive future and immense versatility.
Champagne has a rich history dating back centuries. “Champagne Wines” were first referenced in 1690, which highlights the first-time specific techniques for sparkling wine production were introduced, as well as the first time a wine was identified as being produced in a specific region - Champagne!
Champagne was still culturally significant prior to this, with France’s monarchs crowned in Champagne’s Reims Cathedral from 816 to 1825, which is how Champagne became known as “the wine of Kings and the King of wines”.
With Champagne’s global reputation culturally throughout history, comes the need to protect the appellation and prevent the misuse of its name. In 1935, the concept of the AOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) was introduced. Furthermore, in 2015,
the Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars were added to the UNESCO World Heritage list. This is a reflection of experts working with nature for centuries and the development of a very specialised artisan activity that has become a global enterprise. As such, Champagne Day marks the perfect time to not just celebrate Champagne, but also the craftsmanship and the people who work hard to protect Champagnes future and longevity.
With global temperatures rising and weather conditions becoming more extreme, the 16,200 growers, 130 cooperatives and 370 Champagne houses are collectively having to take action to prevent the delicate climactic balance being put at risk. With this front of mind, Champagne was the first wine region to assess its carbon footprint in 2003 and it is now working towards netzero carbon by 2050. The region has already achieved significant progress in its campaign with a reduction of carbon footprint by 20 percent per bottle, 100% treatment of wine effluents, the recycling of 90 percent of industrial waste; and the region is the leader of

Europe’s wine regions in developing mating disruption - an environmentally friendly technique to help control insect pests contributing to the unique flora and fauna of the region. As of 2022, 69 percent of vineyards in the appellation have secured environmental certification.
As the ultimate drink of celebration, Champagne has come to be associated with glamour, prestige, success and celebration. Most notably, in Hollywood references have been made to Champagne by Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Julia Roberts in their most iconic films. Champagne also holds a place in the most important celebrations of our lives - to toast our achievements, those we love and special occasions.
Champagne’s longevity also lives in its versatility, not only as an excellent aperitif and toasting drink, symbolic of big moments and celebrations but also as one that goes with almost anything that you pair it with. Be it your summer picnic, Friday night fish and chips, dinner party cheese board or traditional Christmas dinner - there is a Champagne style to fit them all.
Champagne Day, on Friday 27th October, marks the perfect time to enjoy a glass of Champagne, to celebrate its long history and vow to protect its future.

Q8 Goes Electric
The four-ring manufacturer welcomed the age of e-mobility back in 2018 when they launched the Audi e-tron and since then have rapidly increased the electrified offering. Now, the Q8 e-tron writes the next chapter in the marques electric success story delivering a flagship model that pushes the boundaries even further.
Bound for positive advancements since inception, the Q8 e-tron boasts an optimized drive concept, improved aerodynamics, higher charging performance, and expanded battery capacity along with significant updates throughout which positions this flagship model at the pinnacle of the current range.
Now eight strong - thanks to the addition of the Q8 e-tron and Q8 Sportback e-tron - Audi's electric portfolio is on track to achieve its target of offering over 20 electric models by 2026 with only fully electric vehicles being produced from there on.
Maintaining the sporty aesthetic the original Q8 Sportback delivered, the Q8 Sportback e-tron welcomes an updated appearance which further enhances the dynamic styling of this elegantly lined 'large coupé' body while continuing to provide the spaciousness expected from a large SUV. A close to three metre wheelbase means that even rear seat occupants have more than sufficient legroom to enjoy the ride however long, while a generous 528 litres of luggage space means you can comfortably take everything you need for your travels with you. There's even an additional 62 litres in the front luggage compartment for any extra luggage you might have.
Immediately recognisable as an all-electric model, the newly designed front and rear aspects of the Q8 Sportback e-tron build on the existing design language adopted by all Audi electrified cars. Enhancing the aesthetic, the introduction of a two-dimensional, no-frills design of the four rings combines with a Singleframe light spoiler to highlight the four rings as a central element and showcase the vehicle face on request.
Elsewhere, the distinctive styling expected of the Q8 continues across to the e-tron variants with that sleek coupé profile delivering an athletic and sporty visual on the Sportback models. Distinct styling variations are evident across the model range depending

on your chosen trim, from Sport, S line and Black Edition to range topping Vorsprung. Boasting a black front grille and surround on both the Black Edition and Vorsprung, along with exclusive alloy wheels and the optional Audi exclusive paint finishes, you can create the perfect car, exactly as you want it.
Inside, the modern, technology-forward cabin continues to deliver style and functionality with the Audi virtual cockpit providing every piece of information you could possibly need as a driver directly in your field of vision with quick and easy controls to adapt the information in front of you. And for even more control, the two vast touchscreens in the centre - with haptic feedback to
give a nearly real button feel - offer access to everything the car has to offer and remove almost all of the switchgear found in a regular car.
The smart navigation system on-board can offer intelligent destination suggestions based on previously driven routes and the Audi connect Navigation and Infotainment package includes carto-X services, by allowing the Audi Q8 e-tron to take advantage of the swarm intelligence of the Audi fleet. Quicker and easier route navigation is now available with integrated charging stops automatically put in place to ensure you stay on the road as much as possible on longer journeys without interruption.
Audi's Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron boasts an output of 408hp - in boost mode - and 664Nm of torque, providing enough pull and power to accelerate from standing to sixty-two miles per hour in 5.6 seconds and on to a governed top speed of 124mph. For those still concerned about range, you shouldn't need to worry here as a range of 313 miles should allow you to travel from London to Birmingham and back on a single charge and you can rest easy knowing that the navigation system has your back for anything longer.
At a high-power charging station (HPC), the Audi Q8 55 e-tron reaches a maximum charging power of 170 kW meaning the battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent during a charging stop of around 31 minutes perfect for a quick toilet and coffee stop. In ten minutes at an HPC charging station, you can recharge to a range of 76 miles. What’s more, this car features an impressive charging curve which runs at a high level for a very long time, allowing the battery to rapidly recharge to long ranges. This makes for a car that is highly suitable for long-distance driving.
In the Q8 Sportback e-tron, the Plug & Charge function comes as standard whereby the vehicle automatically authorizes and activates the station when the charging cable is plugged in at compatible charging stations with billing also completed automatically, reducing the time you spend setting up a charge even further.
The new Audi charging service - which has replaced the existing e-tron Charging Service - provides convenient access to charging points throughout Europe with around 400,000 public charging points across 29 countries.
The e-tron route planner provides you with reliable support in finding charging points along the route. For an accurate calculation of the current range, the algorithm supplements recent consumption data with additional data from the e-tron route planner. This means the system considers the weather, traffic conditions, and topography along the planned route, whilst also providing preference to HPC stations to minimize your charging times.
Driving is made easy and comfortable thanks to the combination of dual axle motors and air suspension as standard. Offering a smooth, constant power delivery, the modified engine concept generates a stronger magnetic field, increasing torque, while the process becomes even more efficient when there is no flow of current as there is no electrical drag loss. If the generated torque is not expended, the electric motor requires less current to build again, reducing consumption and increasing range.
The air suspension and controlled damping system allows the car to configure to different road conditions, with the ride height able to adapt by a total of 76mm depending on the driving situation. The air suspension has also been tuned for optimized lateral dynamics providing an athletic agility on the road.
Luxurious comfort is just as important for the Q8 Sportback
e-tron as its performance and this car has it in abundance. Giving plenty of space throughout for driver, passengers and luggage, you can enjoy the journey, regardless of length, without feeling like you need to stretch your legs. And with the optional technology pack and technology pack pro, you can indulge in some high quality audio courtesy of a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, fourzone climate control complete with an air quality package which features an ionizer and adjustable fragrancing to create the perfect space for your travels.
A three-stage ventilation system makes for highly comfortable seating, ideal when it's hot outside and with their numerous seat and backrest adjustment options, the individual contour seats are the apex of the program, including a massage function on request - in which ten pneumatic cushions relax your back muscles in seven

selectable programs and three intensities - essential for long trips in particular.
Also part of the pack is the panoramic glass roof, which opens and closes electrically, makes the interior even brighter, enhancing its light and spacious appearance and integrated light-tight sunblinds are just as convenient to operate to block out the sun should you prefer. When open, the two-part panorama glass roof improves the interior climate through efficient ventilation and an integrated wind deflector reduces wind noise.
All of the Q8 e-tron versions include decorative inlays in a choice of open-pore wood veneers, such as grained ash, sycamore wood or aluminum and for the first time with new additions to the range including light brown walnut wood and a sustainable technical fabric made from recycled PET bottles, plus the Audi
Sport stitching package in red adds high-end accents to the sports seats, steering wheel, knee pad, and door armrests with coloured stitching. Edged in red, the seat belts are another interior highlight and the interior is rounded off with optional stainless steel pedals.
Every Audi Q8 Sportback e-tron delivered to customers in the UK will be a certified, net carbon-neutral car. And from as early as 2025, all Audi plants will operate with net zero emissions - with Brussels, Győr, and Böllinger Höfe already achieving that status.
Continuing to push design, manufacture and performance, Audi are setting the standard on green automotive production. You just have to give the new Q8 e-tron a try in any of its various guises to see just what it means for the manufacturer to deliver quality while reducing the environmental impact. Recycled material aplenty with no detriment to the high standards expected of the brand.

BRITISH ICON
Jaguar's iconic XK120 delivered a winning recipe for the marque from the outset. Providing the world's fastest production car at the time of its launch in 1948, the XK120 was initially available as an open two-seater which was joined in 1951 by a fixed head coupé and later in '53 the drophead coupé (DHC) variant.
This example is an original right-hand drive, early DHC from 1953 - Chassis number 667013, Engine number W9806-8 - and is presented in its original colour combination of stunning British Racing Green coachwork and beautiful magnolia leather interior.
The car was restored to a very high level in 2010 with photographs to show works carried out. It has been sympathetically upgraded with Cooper Craft disk brakes, alternator, Borg Warner
five-speed gearbox, EZ electric power steering, electronic ignition, Ken Lowe electric fan, heater upgrade, LED lights and indicators, straight port cylinder head and inlet manifold, gas flowed and with larger valves, upgraded engine to fast road spec which develops circa 220-230 BHP at the flywheel, HD6 carburettors have been replaced with HD8S, aluminum upgraded radiator and electric choke. It received a full clutch assembly one year ago when the gearbox was fitted with flywheel balancing undertaken at the same time. Polycarbonate bushes in the front steering, set up for rapid driving along with adjustable shock absorbers.

Alex Christian, joint Head of The Private Office at Savills, has been selling property at the top end of the Central London market for over 20 years and has operated through a number of property cycles since his career began.
“Across the market as a whole a total of 65 properties worth in excess of £10 million were sold in the first-half of the year. Over the course of the summer months, we saw strong activity despite it traditionally being a quieter period for transactions.
At the top end of the market, cash buyers who are cushioned from rising borrowing costs are choosing to purchase property mortgage-free. In fact, Savills Research found that 66% of Savills sales in PCL were bought using cash between January and July this year, compared with 59% in the same period of 2022.
As a result, we’ve seen deals happening much faster over four to six weeks rather than in four to six months, which goes to show how quickly motivated equity rich buyers are able to act.
These buyers are acquiring top-tier trophy homes in prime central London areas such as Kensington, Chelsea, Westminster and Knightsbridge. We’ve seen a notable increase in the desire to purchase super prime property and an encouraging uptick in international activity despite headlines indicating a market-wide summer slowdown.
TROPHY HOME
Recent £10m plus transactions, which have a combined value of nearly £200m, include:
• Nearly £100m of property sales in Kensington and Chelsea including a family home sold off-market in the Boltons Conservation Area, a recently refurbished house in Chelsea and a historic Grade II* listed building in South Kensington with planning and listed building consent to create an exceptional family house.
• Over £40m of property transactions in Knightsbridge including two houses on Knightsbridge garden squares, a lateral apartment in Knightsbridge and a house on a Belgravia garden square with potential for refurbishment.
• Over £50m of sales in Westminster including three houses in Queen Anne’s Gate.
In most cases these are historic homes presented in immaculate condition in London’s prime locations - on the most sought-after roads and garden squares - and from our latest index, we know that homes considered in immaculate condition command an average value of more than £2,000/ sq ft, 37% higher than those considered to be in a poor condition.

Interior design is continually evolving and this season it's all about embracing ‘relaxed elegance’ through a harmonious blend of earthy colours and luxe patterns. I’ve delved into the 'colours of the year' from leading paint manufacturers and trend organisations and explore how to incorporate these trends to create current, luxurious interior spaces.
Of course no-one is redecorating every season, but layering-in these colours and themes will create an on-trend interior scheme to change up the look and feel of your home as we watch Summer disappear and the colder weather fast approach.
Vintage browns, warm yellows and rust support the 70s revival which is proving to have staying power in today’s interiors. Dulux’s palette 'A Warm Colour Story' is a group of earthy shades that

‘Japandi,’ a fusion of ‘Scandi’ and ‘Japanese’ influences from the ‘less is more’ stable, shows no signs of disappearing from current trends. Embracing the connection to nature and an orderly aesthetic, it is one of the most searched trends on Google. Offering a beautiful balance for an interior scheme, one that is easy to live with, harmonious and understated, it is the perfect antidote to a gloomy UK winter. ‘Templeton Pink’ by Farrow and Ball, a stronger version of a natural plaster colour, is a perfect basis for creating a Japandi scheme. The archetype for the look is pared back natural materials, rustic elements such as original urns and distressed wooden consoles and benches, and a connection to nature using large stems and dried flowers. Maximise the waning light by replacing heavy curtains with light linen drapes or blinds and embrace the natural world by incorporating organic textures into your interior design. This trend emphasises the use of materials like rattan, jute, and bamboo. Consider adding wicker furniture, woven light fixtures, or rattan decor pieces to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that connects with nature.
Using Colours and Patterns to Best Effect
Create a Focal Point: Use one or a combination of the "Colours of the Year" as a focal point in your room. Whether it's a bold
accent, a statement piece of furniture, or eye-catching accessories, this colour should draw attention and set the tone for the space.
Layer Textures: Combine different textures to add depth and interest to your interior. Pair smooth velvet with rough-hewn wood, or silky curtains with a plush area rug. This layering of textures creates a tactile and inviting environment.
Balance Boldness: While embracing the trends is essential, it's also crucial to strike a balance. If you're using a vibrant colour or a bold pattern, balance it with neutral tones or classic designs to prevent the room from feeling overwhelming.
Mix and Match: Don't be afraid to mix and match colours and patterns. For instance, pair a rich, deep colour with a subtle geometric pattern, or combine nature-inspired prints with metallic accents. Experimentation can lead to stunning and unique interior schemes.
Lighting Matters: The right lighting can enhance the colours and patterns in your space. Consider warm, ambient lighting to complement rich, deep colours, while brighter lighting can showcase intricate patterns and details.
Accessorise Thoughtfully: Choose accessories that echo the season's theme. Candles, cushions, throws, and artwork can all contribute to the overall aesthetic. Opt for accessories that align with your chosen colours and patterns for a cohesive look.
