Going Places Summer is here, and so are the elaborate plans to s p e n d t h e h o l i d ays a t s o m e p l a c e c o o l e r. Nevertheless, each of the past countless summers have been spent at cooler places and tired of visiting the same holiday destinations again and again, people are running short of options in India. So this issue of Yours Youthfully will take its readers on a pictorial journey of three countries across two continents and even consider a memorable and affordable holiday to one of the three destinations themselves. The major credit for the issue goes to two of Yours Youthfully's photographers, Amartya Sen and Abhishek Patel, who traveled to Vienna (Austria), Instanbul and Kar (Turkey) and Thailand respectively and clicked some amazing photographs there. The photographs have been shared in the Cover Feature section for our readers to appreciate the remarkable beauty and cultures of the cities. A brief synopsis of how to go there, where to stay, what to eat and what all to see in those cities has also been presented for the readers to ponder over. Summer is an i m m e n se ly fa sh i o n a b le season, and if handled well,

AUSTRIA Photographs by: AMARTYA SEN
VIENNA, AUSTRIA
HOW TO REACH
WHAT ALL TO DO
Austria , the land of origin of western classical music poses as a very exciting , exotic and exhilarating destination for the upcoming summers. With the summers hitting the European subcontinent the weather is just warm enough to enjoy the birth place of Mozzart during the month of June and July. Vienna , the capital city offers a rich mix of interesting tourist sites such as the Schönbrunn Palace which was the home of the Austrian Habsburg Dynasty. Vienna as many of us are unaware of was also the hometown of music genius Wolfgang Mozart and the entire city has an eerie presence of western music everywhere which is a treat for the traveller in itself. Apart from Vienna the city of Salsburg which is not far away from Vienna is also another hotspots for the tourists. This city was the central location for shooting of the film Sound of music and the entire town has provides a beautiful scenic view for the wandering traveller. Insbruck which is another town well connected to both Vienna and Salsburg, can also prove as aninteresting stop for the inquisitive tourist.
Austrian Airlines has regular flights connecting Vienna and New Delhi and the service of the airlines is amongst the best of the international airways. For interconnection between cities in Austria the best bet would be to go for the local t ra i n s wh i c h a re b o t h efficiently fast and luxuriously pleasant to travel in. Booking through a travel agent is also a good option if one does not want to be involved in the ticketing and other nitty-gritties of traveling. The added bonus of Austria is that there is hardly any language barrier within the country.
Vienna is made for traveling the entire city on foot. The city's hotspots are well c o n n e c te d by e f f i c i e n t 'trams' which will take you from one location in the city to another in minutes. A good way to spend the evening would be to stroll along the opera street (known as the Opera Strasse) which not only offer a wide selection of Café's to sit and gaze at the European culture but also is filled with street performs who will make your evening very entertaining. While visiting palaces and other tourist sites make sure to pay a visit to the associated Museums which offer great insightful journeys in the lands history and culture.
WHAT TO SEE Vienna offers a first hand experience of enjoying aspects of western classical music. One should definitely go for an opera or substitute it with the slightly cheaper alternative of a western classical music concert. Apart from that the main attraction in Vienna is to visit Mozart's home and also visitthe famous Schönbrunn Palace. At Salsburg an interesting sight-seeing would be to visit the local churches. The major attraction in the town of Insbruck would be to visit the Swarowski Museum which offers a delightful exhibition of crystal works.
At Salsburg taking the guided bus tour called the “Sound of Music Tour” is a must. It covers all the movie locations and stops consist of interesting and beautiful scenic places. At Insbruck make sure you take the local trek of the town to absorb the cultural beauty that the city has to offer.
FOOD AND LODGINGS The country and its capital is filled with hotels of all budget categories. The cuisines that is found in the city ranges from pure European to Chinese and you can even find an well laid out
Indian joint if you look hard enough. If you are a travelling fast food fanatic you can also get your McDonalds and Burger Kings at every corner of the country.I had the luxury of visiting Austria last
year during the summer and the experience still forms a memory in me as if it was only yesterday. Hope the summer gives you an opportunity to go enjoy your time in the land of Amadeus (Wolfgang Mozart).
TURKEY Photographs by: AMARTYA SEN
ISTANBUL, TURKEY Istanbul, the cultural capital of Europe , is yet another destination that should be kept in the minds while planning this year's summer tour. The city of Turkey provides a rich blend of European and Islamic culture a phenomenon that captivates the minds of the traveller. The city has two faces – one completely modern Europe influenced while the other has the Islamic touch of grace and traditions. In all a weeks time in Istanbul will be spent well absorbing the culture of the place as well as enjoying the local delights which is well distributed in the form of cuisines , travelling techniques and the general layout of the place. If you are unsatisfied with a single city then a good idea would be take 2 day outing to the port of Kas which is well connected to Istanbul. The city of Kas has an interesting mix of port city and hill side view and also gives you an opportunity to visit and explore the Mediterranean sea. HOW TO REACH The best deal would be to fly Turkish Airlines which is a world renowned international airline providing top quality service and efficiency. For travelling
within the city one can book Taxis or use the local 'trams' and busses. For getting to Kas one can book a travelling van or take the local train, although a road trip is a better experience. WHAT TO SEE In Istanbul one must visit the blue mosque and the Aya Sofia mosque, both giving a rich taste of Islamic architecture of the best quality. Istiklal Kadesi , the local square and street is a place in the European side of Istanbul which has the 'must visit' tag. Another interesting site would be to spend some time at the Istanbul Train station which is the site from where the famous Orient Express leaves. WHAT TO DO Visit the various cultural depots that offer interesting cultural performances such as the famous belly dancing and folk music. Taking a stroll every evening to Istiklal Kadesi (Kadesi means street in Turkish) isn't a bad idea for spending your time either. The street gives you an opportunity to travel in the localised tram called the 'Tunel'. At Kas, you can take a day long cruise along the Mediterranean coast. There are packaged day tours as well which take you
to several beaches in Kas and also to other tourist sites such as gorges and caves which are pretty interesting sites in Kas. FOOD AND LODGINGS One must not miss out on the chance to enjoy Turkish delights which are the royalty sweets made in the place, other interesting elements of cuisine include the Doner Kebabs which are very popular and the Backlava sweets which also because of their variety in shapes and sizes not only serve as deserts and sweets but also good souvenir for your relatives! For staying one would suggest that instead of going for regular city based hotels go for apartment suites that are located near the important tourist sites which will give you more freedom and comfort of travelling and relaxing both. Go for the cultural capital of Europe this summer and be sure to get memories of travel that will last a life time!
THAILAND Photographs by: ABHISHEK PATEL
If there were to be a crown of tourist places, Thailand would be a unique jewel. Wrapped in a blanket of myth and tradition and with the promise of a completely hedonistic experience, the Kingdom of Thailand is one such place which few can afford to omit. How to reach By air The main international airports in Thailand are at Bangkok and Phuket, and both are well-served by intercontinental flights. Practically every airline that flies to Asia also flies into Bangkok. International airports are also located at Hat Yai, Krabi, Koh Samui and Chiang Mai, though these largely restricted to flights from other Southeast Asian countries. Kuala Lumpur and Singapore make excellent places to catch flights into these smaller Thai cities. By Bus You can enter Thailand by b u s t h ro u gh L a o s a n d Malaysia at the moment – your bus will stop at a Thai immigration post at your point of entry so that each fo re i g n p a s s e n g e r c a n receive an entry stamp in their passport. Thai visas are not normally included in bus fares. For overland routes through Cambodia, you'll
need to hire a shared taxi. You can exit Thailand into portions of Myanmar by bus or shared taxi. What to see Chiang Dao Thailand's highest limestone mountain can be found here amidst a jungle oasis with an excellent selection of local accommodation. A mystical warren of caves extending some 14km (8.7 miles) can be explored, and riding a bicycle is a relaxing way to explore the area around Chiang Dao. Grand Palace, Bangkok Marvel at Bangkok's glittering Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaeo - a temple complex housing the Emerald Buddha. Upriver are the Royal Barges Phang Nga Bay Phang Nga Bay is one of the world's great scenic wonders. It covers an area of 400 sq km (154 sq miles) and consists of verdant limestone islands, some of which reach 300m (984ft) high. The area is famous for its caves and aquatic grottoes. Apart from the occasional village, few of the islands are densely populated.
What to do Thai cooking Try Thai cooking at one of many cookery schools. Learn how to blend the many herbs and spices that provide the unique flavors of Thai food. Thai kick-boxing match Take in a muay thai (Thai kick-boxing) match; this traditional sport can be seen every day of the year at the major stadiums in both Bangkok and the provinces. Thai boxing matches are preceded by ela b ora te c e re m o n i e s a n d accompanied by lively music. Take a meditation class Cast off all cares through traditional meditation. Thailand has dozens of temples and meditation centers specializing in vipassana (insight) meditation. Attend a class for just one day or a retreat lasting several weeks.

Neha Pasricha Batra Food – that essential hungerrelieving God that in all its variety and taste fails not to grant transient yet fulfilling bliss to the humblest of its devotees - manifests itself in innumerable avatars. Each avatar has its own indestructible strengths that sustain and protect humankind and its special invincible astras that add to its taste and nourishing properties. Of all these delectable delicacies gifted to us, the best are the fruits and vegetables that are abundantly brought forth by Mother Nature. Fruits and Vegetables are a scientifically proven treasure trove of vitamins
and minerals. A well planned diet of fruits and vegetables can provide all the essential nutrients required for a human. Fruits and vegetables also provide the recommended dietary allowance of fibre which is essential to ensure smooth bowel movement. There are various forms in which a regular intake of fruits and vegetables is possible but the best way to have them is through the simple but delicious world of salads. There is no meal more balanced and more wholesome than a properly prepared salad with the right constituents. What makes it even better is the incredible range of ingredients that result in infinite salad options. Think of any healthy
natural food and it can be mixed into an appropriate bowl of salad. In summer we feel like having something light and tasty, especially in the evenings to beat the heat after a long and tiring workday. Salads are the ideal solution that take the edge off your hunger and make us feel fresh and energetic. Pomegranate is a fruit which is time-consuming to peel but is exquisitely tasty when the extracted pearls are eaten. It is sometimes boring to eat the pomegranate pearls just like that so to spice things up the fruit can be mixed with other ingredients to make a superb salad.

Unraveling SEX DREAMS
A romantic night, candles all around and an extremely sexy woman standing in front of you in a night dress. Oh no! Wait, that's not your girlfriend…its Sunny Leone. And even before you know it things have already started to get mushy…! Got up with a bit of that flush after your sleep? If yes, DO NOT PANIC. You have just had what is called a Sex Dream. Each of those flaming hot sex dreams has a hidden meaning which spells out your desires of the subconscious. So, you had a red-hot-steamy sex dream and woke up wondering, God where did that come from? Or, darn, that was not my partner in that steamy dream – it was a stranger, or the boss I dislike, or the random guy I met at the party. Don't start packing for a guilt trip as sex dreams can be very surprising. They can be highly erratic and surely erotic. When it comes to sex dreams, they have hidden connotations. A sex dream is full of symbols and packed with many ideas that are not visible on the face value. But one thing is for sure, sex dreams are very common and almost everyone has them. Many people are not disturbed by their sexual dreams and enjoy them for what they are. Honestly, that is the way to take them.

Bhumika Gupta First things first, if you have had a dream steaming up with a guy other than the one you are sharing the bed with, it does not mean you want to cheat on him. Just as you have a dream of a ghost or of a murder, which is not true, similarly is the dream with other man. Since no has to know about it, you don't even have to shoulder the guilt of seeing something exotic. Stay hush and savor the bliss. Why do we have Sexual Dreams? The reason we dream is because of some intense activity that goes on in our subconscious mind. Sex is one of the most powerful human drives and thus, it should not be surprising that many of our dreams have content that is heavily sexual. “ Sex is a part of nature. I go along with nature.” This advice comes straight from the symbol of sex to millions of men worldwide – Marilyn Monroe .Does our conscience censor our Sexual Dreams? Well, it is very surprising but our mind has what is called a
“ d re a m c e n s o r ” w h i c h cleanses our dreams. Thus, very rude or vulgar things are replaced by symbols. People who are extremely chaste and holy, the dream censor gives them symbols and allusions rather than spilling out the entire story. Such people, dream about tunnels, rockets, church spires and hills or mounds instead of the female and male body parts. But, in the a g e i n wh i c h we l ive , symbolism seems outdated. People dream explicit stuff. So all those hiding beneath clean white shirts we do know your plans of painting the town red in your dreams. Does one experience an orgasm in their dream? The answer to this is a definite YES. Yes, people do get an orgasm while having a sexual dream. This is not very common in women, but scientific studies show that most women get their first orgasm in their dreams. It is very common for women to get highly active and excited in their dreams and get up at the brink of an orgasm.
Men definitely have an orgasm in their sexual dreams. Unmarried men definitely have sex dreams that are accompanied by “nocturnal e m i s s i o n s ”. N o c t u r n a l Emissions, commonly known as wet dreams, are erotic dreams when a guy reaches the climax and ejaculates. The frequency of these dreams reduces with age. Boys, the cat is out of the bag now, everyone knows the “Dirty Picture” you've been fabricating ever since Vidya Balan came into the industry! And believe me, as the myth goes, wet dreams are not at all harmful. It is actually very normal. Well, in the end, in case your sex dreams are disturbing, come very often or hurt you, it would be best to visit a psychiatrist or a sex therapist as they have the best solution to all your problems. Till then Happy Naughty Dreaming!

THE ‘S’ WORD Is sperm donation still a taboo in India? Akshay Singh India is on a path to become an economic super power, launching satellites and missiles that are causing the world to sit up and take notice. Ironically enough in our society talking about the 'S' word is still a taboo. Whether it is sex or sperm prudes still out-number the open minded folks. To a certain extent the recent Bollywood success Vicky Donor comes to the rescue, it not only entertains but also educates to an extent. It would be surprising to know that of the total infertility cases a whopping 40-50% is because of male infertility. Recent reports have highlighted the fact that in the next 40 to 50 years there would be no fertile males left in India. Bitter pill to swallow? Blame your lifestyle. The urban Indian has an unhealthy sperm count of 15-20 million per ejaculate. Increasing stress, alcohol, substance abuse, obesity and intense bicycling are some of the reasons for low sperm count and motility (quality of sperm).

A s s i s t e d Re p r o d u c t ive Technology (ART) is a general term referring to methods used to achieve pregnancy by artificial or partially artificial means. It is reproductive technology used primarily in infertility treatments. In many cases single women (termed choice mothers) and single and coupled lesbians opt for IVF to have children. Sperm freezing is becoming another option for persons who are working in a hostile environment or are going for cancer therapies etc. So where does the sperm come from? Sperms are stored in sperm banks in liquid nitrogen at temperatures around minus 190 degree Celsius. These sperms belong to donors who donate their sperms for a lt ru ist ic or m on et a ry purposes. The first sperm bank was established in India in 1990. Sperm banks are generally established by ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) clinics. Though donating sperm is a legal practice in India after
attaining the age of 21, it is more of a word of mouth industry. Therefore it is a word of a mouth i n d u s t r y. V i c k y D o n o r showed the protagonist getting rich overnight but that is a far cry from the reality. First and foremost you do not earn millions and buy a fancy car; we will get back to it in a bit. Becoming a sperm donor is a lengthy process. The donor should be 21-39 years of age. The first sample of the prospective donor has to undergo various genetic s c re e n i n g fo r c o m m o n diseases, Rh factor, hepatitis B & C, HIV and other STDs. The cost of the test is fully borne by the sperm banks. This process might take 36months (as the above mentioned diseases take time to exhibit themselves); in which majority of the prospective donors become disinterested. The background of the donor is also a very important factor. While there is a law for financial compensation for a surrogate mother the rules Yours Youthfully -

Health & Sex for paying sperm donors isn't very clear. According to guidelines by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), no remuneration can be paid for any form of donation, be it of kidneys, blood, or sperms. The compensation is generally around Rs 500-2000. The majority of sperm donors are college student and young professionals with their primary objective being money. The donor also has to sign a 'donor waiver form' which forbids them from making any claim on the child upon its birth. There is also a strict confidentiality clause which prohibits revealing of identity of the donor. Sperm donation in India is still a taboo and it is a practice with grey morality issues. There have been cases where a semen sample has been used without any proper tests. There are cases prevalent where the doctor does not employ proper practices and fertility is not achieved but the patient is still charged. Time has come for the younger generation to educate itself on these topics so that for the coming generations topics like sperm donations and surrogacy are no longer a taboo.
Vicky Donor is like a blast of freshness, exploring a topic which is still a taboo in our society. It not only educates many but also entertains most. The movie should have been promoted on a larger scale but may be the makers didn't expect it to do so well. It has already amassed 22cr within 2 weeks of its release. Kudos to Ayushmann, John and the whole team of Vicky Donor for coming up with a sperm-astic movie!

THE PERFECT MAKEUP Get it right with the best makeup for the season!
Follow Tanya Gaffney on Twitter@TanyaBGaffney
Tanya Gaffney With the summer sun shining, not only are people giving special attention to their clothes but there's an overhaul in their vanity boxes too. For women who like to keep up with the looming trends and want to know what's new this season in terms of make-up, here's your guide. Don't get too florid during the day, you could use light eye shadows like a soft shade of green, pink or even a brown. However, smokey eyes, work for every affair. Keep your lips nude; maybe apply just a transparent lip gloss. If you want to add some colour to your look, a peach or pink matt lipstick would just do right. Too much of shine and sparkle glosses are a BIG NO! You might just end up looking another vampire sparkling in the sun..! Foundations can really
perturb one's eye; firstly if they do not match your skin tone and secondly if they are not water proof. Therefore, before going in for it, make sure it matches your skin tone and does not come pouring down with sweat. A humble request to all the dusky la di e s, do n o t h o a rd products just for the sake of looking fair. Remember Dusky is Sexy!! If you're out for the night; reds, hot pinks or peaches can be a sizzling option for you. Again choices should be made in conformance to your skin tone. Not only this should you also be able to carry it off with elegance and panache just like another lady on the Red Carpet..! If you're dressing up for a wedding ceremony, one must remember that if your outfit is heavy your jewellery and make up should be minimal.
Remember! Your make up should blend with your skin tone and NOT match your clothes! Always use products by good and known brands like M.A.C., Lancolm, and Maybelline. Try and avoid applying anything under the eye as f a r a s p o s s i b l e , l i ke foundations and concealers. That part of the skin is very delicate and is vulnerable to damage very easily. Minimal make up makes one look younger and that's a proven fact! In my opinion, the mantra for a summery fresh look would be: a sun block, kohl pencil and a lip balm or gloss. Drinks gallons and gallons of water for that naturally glowing skin, clichĂŠ though, it always works!! Stay classy and stylish this summer and don't let the summer heat tome you down. Cheers!

FORWARDING INTO THE
PAST
POLKA IS IN! Ekta Batra There! There I spotted a polka! While I leave the description to the highly developed fashion fa c u l t y I c o u l d n o t relinquish the excitement of describing to you how alluring can the experience of carrying a polka would be. Make no mistakes of categorizing and stereotyping the trend as a thing of the past. It is here and yes it has come with a BANG! A dress with a polka is a blatant declaration about how imperative it is to keep digging into the dormant fashion and invest it with ideas so that it comes anew. A general reminder says “Avoid it with too cheeky a colour!” Make your colours smooth, earthy and subtle. However if you are very keen on
making a bold statement with a bright colour, keep the size of the polka in control. The red carpet had a flamboyant touch of Polka this time. Pop star Taylor Swift was spotted wearing a black polka and yes that did catch more than just a glimpse. The dress was an elegant, short, flowing with tiny polka. Credit goes to her for teaming it with cat print sunglasses and a turquoise blue cross body bag. Even our 'Devil wears Prada' star Rachel McAdams has elegantly been spotted with a sleeveless polka this season. The polka has been spread throughout this season. Not only dresses, a wide range of accessories have been making a boom this season with this print.
Watches, sunglasses, footwear are only but few to name. But the 'Know what you wear' policy does not exclude this trend too. Don’t be the colour washed polka walking out. Blend it with a plain shrug or otherwise. It is not only the archaic style that was long followed by our bollywood oldies! It's in and it's loudly pronounced! So what's with the hiding away? Shop for a polka and transcend the shackles of style.

MEET THE THE CHAMPION OF EUROPEAN CLUB FOOTBALL “Football and life,” Chelsea's interim coach Roberto Di Matteo said, “is sometimes unpredictable. I don't think anyone could have predicted this.” And we all can agree with that to some extent. The UEFA Champions League final match, witnessed by a packed Allianz Arena, the nearby Olympic Stadium (on big screens) in Munich and millions of people across the globe, presented a result not many would have predicted. Bayern Munich, playing at their home, tried desperately throughout the game to breach Chelsea's massive defense. The spearheads of
Bayern attack, Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and Mario Gomez, that cost the German giant a hefty $100 million, looked aimless and clueless
more often than not and missed chances that they would've converted with their eyes closed. The first taste of success came late in

CHELSEA’S DEPENDABLE WARHORSE He loves to compete, loves to make things difficult for the defenders, a striker to the core, unflinching, and has a good temperament. The 34year old Ivorian is something different. Drogba with his key attributes that includes physical strength, ability in
the air and his power to retain the possession of the ball has been the fulcrum of the Chelsea attack in the entire season. He was written off by his critics earlier this season but he silenced them by scoring two goals in two different
games at a crucial junctures of the match. First it was against Barca in the Champions League semifinals and the second against Bayern Munich in the very final. He also scored a crucial goal against Liverpool in the F.A. Cup final

CHELSEA the 83rd minute of the game when a header by Thomas Mueller found the back of Chelsea's net. But the success wa s s h o r t l ive d w h e n Chelsea took their first corner of the game that came as late as the 89th minute of the game, by the time Bayern had taken 20. The corner kick ball, coming off Juan Mata's feet found Drogba's head that thumped it back Bayern's net to add to the hosts' woes. The 90 minutes ended in a 1-1 tie and the teams sailed off into thirty minutes of extra time to decide the champion, but the extra time turned out to be non-productive. The match
was finally taken into penalties where the genius in Petr Cech finally brought home the Cup to the Blues. Nevertheless, some people might have thought that the Chelsea triumph was destined from the very minute the best footballer in the world, Lionel Messi, hit the crossbar in a penalty against them in the semifinal. Many complained that the ageing Chelsea side needs replacements and rebuilding. But the interesting thing to note is that unlike other teams who begin rebuilding when they are at a low, Chelsea will do it
when they are on the top.. This summer, Chelsea begins what is supposedly a massive summer rebuilding process. Where Chelsea, its owner Roman Abramovich, its interim coach Roberto Di Matteo and its ageing players head towards is immaterial. Right now it is time for them to bask in the glory of the Championship their owner and players had been eyeing for about a decade now.
DEDIER DROGBA that won the trophy for Chelsea. Although Drogba was not in the score sheet in the heroic 2-2 draw with Barca in second leg he worked tirelessly to ensure that his team dumped out the European champions. In the final against Bayern Munich,
he equalized the score by a header off Juan Mata's corner and then sealing the trophy for the Blues in the penalties. He has won many trophies for his team, but the Champions League made his name immortal in the history of Chelsea football. Photo Courtesy- www.thestar.com
