By Shelley Koppel Staff writer PALM CITY – The motto of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America is “Great Futures Start Here.” In Martin County, those words are taken seriously at its five branches in East Stuart, Hobe Sound, Indiantown, Palm City and Port
Salerno. Each one strives to give children 6-18 the tools to succeed academically, resist risky behaviors, learn good citizenship and plan for the future. Anne McCormick has been executive director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County for six years. She began as a volunteer in 1999 and when she left retail for a career change, she took a job at the Hobe Sound branch.
