PALM CITY — Palm City teen Jonathan Estevez was one of the first-time competitors to take the stage at the Treasure Coast Championship Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini Contest on
Aug. 22 at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center. Leading up to the event, Estevez said he was both nervous and excited to show off everything he had been working toward. He left the Civic Center clutching two trophies, second place in the “Men’s Physique” category and first place in the “Teen Men’s
Physique” category. Estevez was one of nearly 60 men and women competing at the local bodybuilding show on Saturday. “I’ve been lifting in general for two years, and when I got to where I wanted to be, I thought ‘why not compete?’” Estevez said. Estevez said he has put almost
all of his extra time and energy into his bodybuilding passion since he graduated from high school last spring. He works out six days per week and is on a calculated, zero-fat, high-protein diet that entails eating at least six times per day.
