ST. LUCIE COUNTY — The St. Lucie County School Board made interim Superintendent Genelle Yost’s post permanent during its last meeting on Aug. 27. Board members praised Yost’s stellar performance the past two months, along with her storied career within the system. “Ms. Yost has devoted her entire educational career — 38 years — to St.
Lucie County schools. She has served the district in many capacities, including teacher, principal and district administrator,” board chair Debbie Hawley said in an emailed statement. “Her years of service have provided her with perspectives from the position of all stakeholders and those perspectives will be invaluable to Ms. Yost as the leader of the school district.” “She has long-established relationships within the district and the community

LUCIE WEST — As its stocks zoom and sales boom, Tesla Motors is quickly proving to be one the country’s greatest innovations as the electric luxury car outscores virtually every gas-powered luxury automaker. Riding its cutting-edge wave is the city of Port St. Lucie, which after seeing early signs of the car’s stellar performance, installed a Tesla charging station in St. Lucie West.
