ST. LUCIE COUNTY — At one time most St. Lucie County residents were descended from a relatively small number of pioneer families, a local historian says. But after World War II, the population grew, with an influx of people who were not necessarily familiar with those pioneering families, local historian and genealogist

To give people more opportunity to learn about the basic history of St. Lucie County, Wilson was instrumental in an exhibit that opened earlier this year called “St. Lucie Families - Crafters of Local History.” Wilson said the exhibit includes information about pioneering families.
