ST. LUCIE COUNTY — A St. Lucie County judge ruled Tyler Hadley will never see the light of day as a free man for the grisley 2011 slayings of his parents at their Port St. Lucie home. St. Lucie County Judge Robert Makemson sentenced Tyler Hadley, 20, on March 20 to two consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole after a lengthy sentencing hearing that lasted more than a week. PORT ST. LUCIE — Following in the footsteps of the county, the city of Port St. Lucie has also banned the use of fertilizers containing nitrogen and phosphorous during the rainy season in an effort to salvage what’s left
of the pollution-damaged Indian River Lagoon. Fertilizers containing the two chemicals are prohibited from June 1 to Sept. 30, the ordinance states. Fertilizer containing either chemical is also prohibited during flood watches or warnings, a tropical storm watch or warning and a hurricane watch or warning. It is also banned
when heavy rains are expected. “Heavy rain” is defined as rainfall greater than or equal to 2 inches in a 24-hour period, the ordinance states. Golf courses must assure landscaping practices abide by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection document, “Best Management Practices for
