ST. LUCIE COUNTY — In emails obtained by Your Voice Weekly, former Digital Domain CEO, John Textor, reached out to high ranking officials within the city of Port St. Lucie. It was Textor’s attempt to work out the financial issues surrounding the studio and either buy it or pay off the city’s debt. According to Textor, those offers were never acknowledged by the city nor were the public notified of any offers. ST. LUCIE COUNTY — Dec. 3 could be a make or break day
for Compost USA of the Treasure Coast. The County Commission will, for the third time, consider a conditional-use permit for a proposed composting facility on Shinn Road, just west of Port St. Lucie’s northern side. If the commission gives its nod, the company would have state permitting processes to go through. People in PGA Village and Tradition want the commission to flush it now.
Carol Anderson, co-chair of the PGA Village Compost USA Opposition Committee, said the proposed facility would be barely two miles from the development with wells, and many residents are concerned about their water. She said the committee will quantify its concerns to the commission with hard environmental facts at the meeting.
