PALM CITY — In a world where women are often pitted against each other in the media to create drama and ratings spikes, a group of local business women, 300 strong, gathered to combat the vicious stereotype and elevate one another for a good cause. During the Port St. Lucie Business Women 23rd Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon, held at the scenic Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club, members and nonmembers met to network and raise money for local charities and organizations that work with women and children. The high-spirited event was an accurate portrayal of how caring women are to each other, said Mindi Fetterman, Tradition resident and founder of the Inner Truth Project, a new center in St. Lucie West that helps survivors of sexual abuse. “Women are always portrayed as catty and very shallow and jealous, and I feel like it’s anything but that, especially in our communi-
