Gill Sans Eric Gill Designed in1928–32 Published by Monotype
Gill sans is a humanist sans serif designed by English typographer Eric Gill. Gill’s goal was to create a font that had both modern and traditional typeface characteristics. It has a smaller x-height when comparing to other sans serif fonts, and has a range of uppercase widths. The use of oblique and vertical strokes also makes it very smooth to read. Gill sans is commonly used for railway signs, engine plates, and television stations. It is also very popular as a corporate typeface.
