Univers is a neo-grotesque sans serif that was the first real typeface designed as a full system with modulated strokes. It is also the first typeface where it uses a numerical system, where each font is given a number rather than a name to identify with. Moreover, the typeface has clear differences between each character in order to avoid confusion in letterforms. Due to its legibility and consistent design within a family, Univers is very popular for corporate logos and public sign systems. It is also ideal for on-screen graphics and government campaigns.
