CLIMATE ANALYSIS
Devou Park has a humid climate. The land area is cultivated, still with some natural vegetation preserved. The landscape is mostly covered with closed broadleaved deciduous forest. The climate is classified as a humid continental (humid with severe winter, no dry season with a cool temperate moist forest biozone . The soil in the area is high in luvisols, cambisols (lv), soil with clay-enriched lower horizon, high cec, and high saturation of bases.

DEVOU PARK OPEN SPACE ANALYSIS
4-POINT EVELUATION SYSTEM We create this 4-point eveluation system to identify the suitability of Devou Park. We eveluate it from 4 aspects: infrastructure, topograpgy, vegetation, and drainage. Areas that fit to the criteria of suitability from each aspect can gain one point. Based on this rule, we identify four classes of suitability. Class one areas get 4 points, which are close to infrasturcture, has lower than 10% slope, has only ground cover or low vegetation covered and can avoid drainage. Class two areas get 3, class three areas get 2 and class four areas get 1 point or none, which is not suitable for construction and development at all. PROJECT TITLE 7

DESIGN PRINCIPLE Devou Park neighborhood represents a rising of community standards and a commitment to changing of how things are done. There is a question:” Why do people want to buy a house in Devou Park neighborhood rather than other places?” Devou Park has rich natural sources which is also the most important reason to bring people to the park. As a planner, we want to use our design to reinforce this character. After study previous analysis, we will put four sub-neighborhoods in this park, and each of them will have one unique open space as the major activities node. Those open spaces will reserve the nature looking of Devou Park.
